Thanks! Rebuilding my CRF250R 2008 and i think this is the best video i've seen. I'm following the steps and reading the manual. This helped me from zero knowledge to this point that i am now assembling back the engine.
I may have to contact you when I get to mine. I got the crank, bearings and all engine parts on the way. I’ve got the manual and a video from HTMR also. I should be ok. I’ve done several 2 strokes but this is my first 4 stroke. Thanks man.
I had a '04 250x I bought recently with the intent to make a good trail bike out of it. Long story short thought ran ok but the owner lied and had it prewarmed, got it home and no start. Backfires too. Found the left and right intake valve to be negative clearance, exhaust valves tight. The cam was worn from lack of valve shimming and so it was basically ready for a full rebuild. At least new head piston, and valves. Based on my research these engines had terrible valve issues. To me it wasn't worth the time and money so I shimmed the valves and sold it immediately. This sacred me away from modern 4 strokes in terms of valve maintenance so I got a new Gasgas 300 2 stroke. Good video by the way.
That sucks man. The bike being hot when you show up is a big red flag. On the bright side you couldn’t have bought a better bike for trail riding. 300 2 smokers are the absolute kings of the single track 💨💨💨
I had the same thing on an 04 250X. Got like 3 rides out of it till valves showed 0 clearance. Could not be shimmed and had to replace intake valves. I'm actually glad it happened to me cause of the knowledge I've gained on rebuilding them. But eventually I'd love to get me a 2 stroke as well!
Man let me tell ya, I am literally rebuilding my CRF 250r right now with zero knowledge only doing it by watching your videos and copying your steps. Just got to this video and went to watch the next one. where you’re powder coating the chassis and was pissed because I couldn’t find that video little did I know this video came out a day ago who knew we’d be doing the same thing at the same time 😂

Thanks for the step by step . Currently rebuilding a 2007 and your help is appreciated 👍 thanks from across the pond 🇬🇧
not many videos with head work on these bikes and this one was good. My 2010 will be my first one ever. Thanks man, cant wait to see it running.
Thanks man, there’s definitely a few things I didn’t cover but I think I got the main points across 🤞🏻
