    I would suggest not doing the race to bottom on price comps. If you look at some of the pics and descriptions of the lowest priced you might find that they are off centered and possibly some defect the seller mentions. Everyone under cutting everyone else is never good for the hobby.

      Very fair point, I should have mentioned to double check the listing before pricing your cards. I’m going to pin this comment so viewers can see this and take it into consideration!

    Thanks for this! My Wife and I bought a home a couple years back and discovered a collection of thousands of sports cards (mostly hockey), hidden away in the basement. Since no one has reached out to us over the past year, and we legally own them when we took possession of the house, we're looking to sell them. Lots of Upper Deck stuff, those transparent cards, and the ones with holographic reflective bits. Neither one of us have any clue as to the value of sports cards, so this video has given us some great highlights to take note of. Thank you! 😄

    I think letter mail to the US over 50G but under 100G is $3.19 now. That's at least two stamps. I agreed, its very confusing/frustrating not know exactly what it's going to cost and the most efficient way to pay for it. I'd like to see a video on you setting up your shipping profiles on eBay! For low end and high end cards!

    This video has been so useful for getting set up selling cards on ebay. Just got my first sale this week, sent it out using the methods in the video. Great video. Hopefully it all goes well. Have you had any issues sending a card to the US using a bubble mailer, dropping off at a Canada post mailbox with the correct postage attached, but it gets stopped and sent back because they determine that the card should be a "parcel" instead and not shipped by letter mail? I've read online that people have to instead try to make their cards look like regular letters to get around this. Also any need to fill out the customs declaration forms for low value cards??

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I’m glad the video was useful! Since I made this video, shipping regulations have changed sending bubble mailers from Canada to the US. You can not send bubble mailers using US stamps anymore like I showed in the video. Ebay has introduced a new shipping option call “expedited lite parcel”. This costs roughly $8 CAD and is meant for shipping collectables. As long as the weight is under 200 grams, I’d recommend using this. It also comes with tracking and $100 insurance! Just when your card sells, simply click “purchase shipping label” and select that option. Then just print and tape it to the bubble mailer, should automatically fill out the customs for you!

      Fair enough. Does the method in the video still work for shipping within Canada or do you use one of the eBay shipping options?

    • @DLBConrad

      My other question is if you were to remake the video what would you charge for flat rate shipping to the U.S. and within Canada now? Thank you for your help

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DLBConrad Yes, as far as I know you can still ship using stamps within Canada for small bubble mailers

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DLBConrad I’d recommend charging $9.99 CAD, that’s what i charge at least. That covers the label, mailer and other supplies. It’s more expensive but they get the tracking which is nice

    How do you handle selling multiple cards to one buyer? like if they buy 6 cards all at once. How does combining the shipping work and how many cards can be stuffed into one bubble mailer before its considered a "package"?

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tell the buyer not to make payment until you send them an invoice. On the desktop version of eBay, under your sales it should recognize that the same person bought multiple cards. There should be a “send an invoice” button in one of the corners. You can then manually adjust the shipping cost. Depending on the value of the cards, i recommended just getting tracking. If you purchase right off eBay now, it only costs roughly $7.15 CAD… then you don’t have to worry about it being sent back.

    If you ship with tracking to Canada or US which price do you request ?

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I live in Canada, so i charge $15 CAD for both when tracking. Might seem like a lot but It actually costs around $20 plus tax to ship with Canada post and tracking. I take a bit of a loss on the shipping. I heard eBay/Canada Post is adding in new shipping methods for sport cards soon!

    Thanks for the video, this is very useful stuff. Once you're ready to send the card by mail, do you just leave it in one of those Canada Post mailboxes? Or you go at the post office to drop it?

    I’m new to this business and kinda hesitant. If I’m selling a $3 card and I’m charging $7 for tracked shipping (Canada post)- I’m stuck between having such a high shipping rate but if I don’t do tracked post i risk the chance of the buyer claiming they never received the card. What would you do in this situation?

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@brandontownsend5581 I almost never have tracked shipping for cheaper cards like that within Canada. Usually if the card is $40 or more now, I require the buyer to purchase tracked shipping. I have run into this issue a couple times saying the buyer never received the card. Unfortunately that’s the way it is

    I have a question, I'm selling a 200 dollar card from alberta to quebec. When I go to print off the ebay shipping label, it says it will cost 21$. I only charge 3.99 for shipping as I thought all I needed was a stamp. Can I just use a stamp like you do in the video, or do I need to pay 21$ for the shipping label on ebay? Also (first time using ebay), it says I need to ship it off in a day. If i'm able to not use the shipping label, how do I tell ebay that its shipped?

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  ปีที่แล้ว

      When shipping a card over 100 dollars, I always ship it with tracking (printing a label or taking it to a post office) to cover my own butt lol. You could use a stamp and send it through the mail, if you want to do that on eBay you can click the arrow beside purchase shipping label and just click on “mark as shipped”. I wouldn’t recommend doing this however as their’s a risk that the buyer could turn around and say they never got the card! For this specific scenario I would just pay the extra to make sure that the card gets delivered and in the future, charge more for shipping on expensive cards. Hope this helps!

    • @arksportscards12
      @arksportscards12  ปีที่แล้ว

      Me personally I have never had any extra import fees sending stuff to the US. Very rarely you may have to pay a duty to receive a card coming into Canada from the US… but that has only ever happened to me once, shouldn’t need to worry!
