Thanks man, that is great to hear! The sports card hobby is awesome, so welcome! I have an instagram called @scottie_b_cards feel free to reach out to me on there if you have any questions.
Great Video. The board trick for reducing glare was a great tip. A couple of tips for you if you arent doing it by now. 1. Get a label printer and some 4x6 labels. 2. Get rigid mailers that are 5x7. You won't have to use the extra cards in the pack and overall your packing time will be reduced.
@@halllow I've shipped hundreds of cards using the eBay branded rigid mailers and the standard envelope service without any complaints or issues. I was paranoid about them being too rigid as well, but after writing to eBay about them specifically and being assured they were made specifically for the standard envelope service, I gave it a shot and haven't looked back since. As long as it stays below that 1/4 inch mark there doesn't seem to be an issue.
Great thorough video. Only thing I would add (not sure if you normally do) is that when I take pictures of the card(s) I crop out most of the background so the card is up close. This way if the buyer clicks on the picture they get a REALLY big picture of the card to see the corners/gloss etc. I sometimes change the backdrop so it's not a white bordered card on a white backdrop. If someone uses scotch tape for the top loader put a smaller second piece facing the other way in the middle of the longer piece so if the card slides out of the top loader it won't stick on the tape. Continued success.

I’ve sold thousands of Yugioh cards on eBay and tcg, and the best way I’ve found for the low end stuff is to sleeve the card, put it in upside down on the toploader and tape it shut with scotch tape. That way the card can’t slide and hit the tape. Then I tape the toploader to the inside (address side) of a smaller envelope (about 2/3 the side of a regular envelope) No team bag, no paper, super easy.
You can also wrap your card up tight in the left over piece of paper you have after you cut your label out. Been doing it that way for over 2 yrs & haven’t had an issue yet with a card being damaged. You can also select the 2 oz & add a 4 cent stamp at the PO & the card will go non machinable which honestly more safe for the item
I love the hole in the board trick for the camera! One recommendation I have is to place a piece of paper in between the top of the top loader and the painters tape. The card may slide and you don’t want glue on the top edge of the card.
Thanks for sharing! I will certainly leverage this new program as shipping with tracking is big and normal 1st class in a bubble mailer is nearly $3 this will be the way to go for sure for sub $20 cards

Thank you for sharing this. It really helps me as a seller to save money on lower priced sales. I was about to pay more for first class mail by mistake. The ebay app doesn't give you the ebay standard envelope option when printing the shipping label, but if you go to the website you're given the option to choose the under $1 shipping option.

You can do 51 cents but that’s not non machinable..Better to send them that way. Just my opinion. I’ve sent 1000’s that way & haven’t had but 1 issue. I am glad that eBay finally has done this. Sending cards worth a buck maybe a buck 50 with 3.50 shipping is ridiculous. On top of that eBay charges a fee on shipping chargers as well
When I use painters tape to close in the toploader, I make the tape slightly longer and add a little "tab"at the end to make removal VERY easy without ever using fingernails. So you can pinch to remove.
don't use tape at all if you're using a team bag. nice to see the label and process. i've heard negative about this method so far, but it looks like it should work good for most of us.
Hey just have a question kind of new seller on eBay been doing it for the past 8 months I just went into the post office today and after sending my cards through eBay standard envelope since I started and they usually accept it but today they said that they would except it because there machines have a part to where it Bends and if it’s not paper that can bend them the people who process it won’t ship it they just told me that today don’t know if that’s a new policy but I went to 3 of them and they said the same thing
When I ship in a PWE. I go to the Dollar Tree and buy a box of thank you cards. I think the box comes with 15 cards for a $1.00. It's a little more rigid. Plus it looks nice.
I've tried this and they sent it back to me. The combination of a trading card + 2 layers of cardstock is too rigid, even without a toploader or card saver. It sounds like really good advice but don't do this.
As someone who maintains the machines that processes letter mail I highly recommend following your instructions to add those extra layers of protection. If anyone is curious. Search for a video of a DBCS machine. Great video.
Thanks for this video! I’ve been wanting to start selling on eBay for months but haven’t yet due to my complete ignorance/ anxiety of the whole process. I really appreciate that you showed the whole process from start to finish. My question is does this white envelope rule pertain to sports cards only or all trading cards? Bc now this is another layer I have to think about 😅
I don't see anything that says the envelope must be white. While I have only used white, I don't believe that is true. I've read the requirements. No mention of white. ???
Great video! Getting ready to try the black foam sheet. If it works as good as it looks, you are a GENUIS! I have struggled for 2 years on ebay trying to photograph without the glare on my cards. My question Scottie, On these ebay standard envelope, does it actually show tracking for my customers and myself? I've been told that it is just a barcode. Can my customers just go to ebay and track their card like with $5.25 shipping?
What's with the Billy Butler bobblehead? Nice video - THANKS. Painter's tape is not needed with a team bag. Some people hate ALL things tape - painter's, old masking, or scotch tape. I am hesitant to tape over the bar codes on the labels...any pushback from USPS for doing that?? Thanks again.
Super helpful! So you don't need a label maker, just using a regular printer? You can just cut it out and tape it on? Thats amazing, I was thinking of getting a label maker today actually but would love this

Thats a great idea. I have received cards pwe this way so it must be pretty popular! Thanks for the tip man!
What's pwe
@@mikewallace3046 plain white envelope
I've tried this and they sent it back to me. The combination of a trading card + 2 layers of cardstock is too rigid, even without a toploader or card saver. It sounds like really good advice but don't do this.
Hi, after you finish , do you have to go to the post office to mail or can you just drop in a mailbox?
I just typed the same thing, lol I need to know that as well cause it would be easier if we could just drop it in the blue mailbox’s.
Thank you for this video. I mean yo sell my husbands collection of trading cards but don’t know what to do. This is very helpful.
Great! I am glad that it is helpful! Let us know if you have any questions along the way.
I sell my hubbies too! It’s been a fun hobby for me and a nice way to make some money back.
Bc now this is another layer I have to think about 😅
All trading cards
I don't see anything that says the envelope must be white. While I have only used white, I don't believe that is true. I've read the requirements. No mention of white. ???
Great video! Getting ready to try the black foam sheet. If it works as good as it looks, you are a GENUIS!
I have struggled for 2 years on ebay trying to photograph without the glare on my cards.
My question Scottie,
On these ebay standard envelope, does it actually show tracking for my customers and myself? I've been told that it is just a barcode. Can my customers just go to ebay and track their card like with $5.25 shipping?
super helpful video... .question... @5:34 what type of bags are those? replayed the video multiple times
Hey Saul, Thank you! It is called a "team bag" They are found at most hobby shops and even some Walmarts now!
Can you feed the envelope through the printer to print the label directly on the envelope?
What's with the Billy Butler bobblehead? Nice video - THANKS. Painter's tape is not needed with a team bag. Some people hate ALL things tape - painter's, old masking, or scotch tape. I am hesitant to tape over the bar codes on the labels...any pushback from USPS for doing that?? Thanks again.
Tape is not necessary it's just a pain in the a** for buyer
Has to be a better way that trimming the paper and taping? How can you print in the envelope?
Thanks bro. Didn’t know what shipping option to apply and how to ship. I have a label printer so won’t need to print it normally?
Super helpful! So you don't need a label maker, just using a regular printer? You can just cut it out and tape it on? Thats amazing, I was thinking of getting a label maker today actually but would love this
I just sold a jaylon brown card for 78 dollars thank you for showing me
This was really helpful. Thanks.
Anytime. I am glad it was helpful!
