And for Less than $20 on eBay, US ship. U can even p/u 1 w/ adjustable LED 4 few bucks more, why not? Would've help my OCD/ADHD azz, but U don't needed for shooting cards. I forgot to mention this in the video that if the package weighs less than one ounce it is 51 cents, if it is between 1-2oz it is 71 cents, and if it is between 2-3oz it is 91 cents. Flying Dutchmen Cards when you go to print your label on the top left it asks for the weight. Change it to 1 Oz. If you are shipping 2 regular cards in the same loader push it to 2 Oz. I always select the 2 Oz & I add 4 cents when I drop them off so they go non machinable. The cards are safer going that way.

Great thorough video. Only thing I would add (not sure if you normally do) is that when I take pictures of the card(s) I crop out most of the background so the card is up close. This way if the buyer clicks on the picture they get a REALLY big picture of the card to see the corners/gloss etc. I sometimes change the backdrop so it's not a white bordered card on a white backdrop. If someone uses scotch tape for the top loader put a smaller second piece facing the other way in the middle of the longer piece so if the card slides out of the top loader it won't stick on the tape. Continued success.

  • @azjeep81
    @azjeep81 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Great Video. The board trick for reducing glare was a great tip. A couple of tips for you if you arent doing it by now. 1. Get a label printer and some 4x6 labels. 2. Get rigid mailers that are 5x7. You won't have to use the extra cards in the pack and overall your packing time will be reduced.

@@halllow I've shipped hundreds of cards using the eBay branded rigid mailers and the standard envelope service without any complaints or issues. I was paranoid about them being too rigid as well, but after writing to eBay about them specifically and being assured they were made specifically for the standard envelope service, I gave it a shot and haven't looked back since. As long as it stays below that 1/4 inch mark there doesn't seem to be an issue.

I’ve sold thousands of Yugioh cards on eBay and tcg, and the best way I’ve found for the low end stuff is to sleeve the card, put it in upside down on the toploader and tape it shut with scotch tape. That way the card can’t slide and hit the tape.
Then I tape the toploader to the inside (address side) of a smaller envelope (about 2/3 the side of a regular envelope)
No team bag, no paper, super easy.

Been doing it that way for over 2 yrs & haven’t had an issue yet with a card being damaged. You can also select the 2 oz & add a 4 cent stamp at the PO & the card will go non machinable which honestly more safe for the item

Thank you for sharing this. It really helps me as a seller to save money on lower priced sales. I was about to pay more for first class mail by mistake. The ebay app doesn't give you the ebay standard envelope option when printing the shipping label, but if you go to the website you're given the option to choose the under $1 shipping option.

When I ship in a PWE. I go to the Dollar Tree and buy a box of thank you cards. I think the box comes with 15 cards for a $1.00. It's a little more rigid. Plus it looks nice.

I've tried this and they sent it back to me. The combination of a trading card + 2 layers of cardstock is too rigid, even without a toploader or card saver. It sounds like really good advice but don't do this.

When I use painters tape to close in the toploader, I make the tape slightly longer and add a little "tab"at the end to make removal VERY easy without ever using fingernails. So you can pinch to remove.

Good clean video. I'm still expecting to lose my TRS status because cards aren't scanned at the post office where they are dropped. I will raise hell if that happens, and pretend ebay actually cares... One other piece of advice--bigger picture! Fill up that screen. Crop it or shoot it with zoom. Also, thermal label printers work, I use my Dymo XL. No cutting/taping.

Hey just have a question kind of new seller on eBay been doing it for the past 8 months I just went into the post office today and after sending my cards through eBay standard envelope since I started and they usually accept it but today they said that they would except it because there machines have a part to where it Bends and if it’s not paper that can bend them the people who process it won’t ship it they just told me that today don’t know if that’s a new policy but I went to 3 of them and they said the same thing

Love the Vortex shirt! Big fan of my Razor HD! Very helpful video. I’ve been selling on eBay for 20 years and just came into some sports cards but I want to try to get rid of on there. Wasn’t sure how to sell them. Do you ship every single card you sell in a hard plastic top loader? Wouldn’t that get expensive? Again great video and thanks for the info!

Scottie really great video as usual because u have great content but i have to vent about something and i hope to get feedback from you and collectors. I ship football cards via this method for over a year now. It is a hobby for me. Whatever i do not collect i sell on ebay. There is always a person usually every week saying they did NOT receive the card because they know the tracking does not work more then 50/50. I take them to the post office myself. Ebay tracking DOES NOT WORK consistently. Example my last 6 purchases i received them all and ebay tracking says 3 r still at the sellers post office. Tracking does not always get updated because to usps it is just another piece of mail. It is NEVER scanned so stracking is never updated. Maybe i am a cheap skate LOL but it ruins my day when i know a card was shipped and a guy wants a free card and a full refund. So sick and tired of fighting with ebay because they know the tracking is a joke. Scottie you love baseball so how do u handle this? Does it drive you crazy or do u just eat the loss almost every week and give a person a free card and refund?????????????? I can not be the only one this is happening too. Please comment and thanks in advance.

I have struggled for 2 years on ebay trying to photograph without the glare on my cards.
    My question Scottie,
On these ebay standard envelope, does it actually show tracking for my customers and myself? I've been told that it is just a barcode. Can my customers just go to ebay and track their card like with $5.25 shipping?

  • @KWN-Cards

I'm actually surprised Scottie B ships in a PWE, I have never and won't ever ship in a PWE. I use the rigid cardboard 6x4's and a simi-rigid top load to ship my cheaper cards and still come in under 3oz. The cut out for the pics was very useful and I'll be giving that a try.

I just came across this video after selling singles that I dont need for complete sets for over a year now. I know eBay says no cardboard for these labels, I have had no complaints or returns with using 6x9 photo mailers and the trading card labels. Just thought I would share.
