      I'm new to selling. My dad recently passed away and left me a massive collection. I want to know how to track the cards that I put on ebay. How do you keep your cards organized so that I can find them again if they sell? My dad had garages full of sports cards. I'm overwhelmed.

    • @AccurateBurst
      @AccurateBurst ปีที่แล้ว

      @@misschristina95 There might be other ways to organize out there, but it might be helpful to know that you can separate them by sport, year, collection/set, and team, so looking for something might be 'Football, 2020 Panini Chronicles, Green Bay Packers' (then you can either look for single players, parallel/variety, insert, etc.). This will also allow you to sell in bulk while keeping the year and set segregated from others if you plan to sell in bulk by team.
      Another method, if you had a smaller amount, would be to use a binder and card protector sheets, that way you have them all in one binder and can sell as a collection.
      I can't imagine the overwhelming sensation of acquiring garages full of sports cards but allocating some time here and there to go through each box, binder, and even card could result in finding valuable sports cards, especially if he's been collecting over time.

    New to selling on eBay…I’m blown away at the fees. I had researched it and saw they take 13-15% but it didn’t mention the flat fee they charge as well. 🤦🏻‍♂️ so now I have to charge a min .99 cents a card no matter what it is which is a shame cause some just aren’t worth .99 cents 🤷‍♂️

I have guys who just check the shipping date who i believe get the card and request a refund. I always eat the full amount. I know they usually get the cards because they wait until the expected ship date. Do you guys have this problem? When shipping higher end cards i NEVER have a problem when scanned in a bubble mailer. Hey John, welcome to the quest bro! Buying collection off Facebook marketplace or garage sales may not be a bad idea , it’s important to examine the cards in person or with good pics but you could potentially find some very undervalued cards that way. Otherwise it’s just a matter of hunting down specific cards on eBay, and if you’re looking for entry level cards I’d target the rated rookies .

    AWESOME tips video and I have broke into eBay sales watching Andy over the past year. Just before the SB I learned on this channel about standard eBay shipping envelope and my sales took off by offering free shipping. My only problem is that is turned out to be unreliable compared to the $3.50ish bubble mailer with tracking. 1 person sent pictures with the enveloped ripped to heck by a machine, another had tracking tell him it arrived, but it took 2 more weeks to physically show up at his house. Do more research on eBay standard envelope and see it is riddled with huge issues that could ding your feedback score. You can move more cards, but be ready for more emails to answer and customers to keep happy to protect your feedback score, which Andy is watching too.

    • @TheOGEmoticon
      @TheOGEmoticon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This won't help for every case, but I feel complete transparency can cure a number of headaches here. For me - and as Andy point out in the video - that starts with being entirely transparent about the shipping folks will get at each level. If someone buys a card being sent in a PWE, great! But they need to be aware of what they're getting.
      I feel Andy does a great job in ensuring a high end of customer service from that perspective and have yet to send more than a single card this way. That being said, if someone would prefer the bubble mailer for a higher price, also cool and I feel that's a solid option to actually offer the buyer. It gives them the option to clearly state they're okay with various levels of protection.
      While there will likely be the occasional incident, you can use a free tool called 17Track to get very detailed tracking info. And while this is not an ideal option, most POs are able to track items with GPS if a customer is able to stop by with a tracking number.

    Great stuff, Andy. One thing I'd add is streamlining the title as much as possible but include the card number and serial number if possible. Players often have multiple cards in sets and parallels/inserts have different card numbers so a set collector/player collector may miss a card if the title is overly convoluted.
    A couple of examples
    2020 Optic #161 J.K. Dobbins Rated Rookie Auto SN 112/150.
    2020 Optic Holo #170 KJ Hamler PSA 10 Gem Mint Super Low Pop vs. the real title of "2020 Panini Donruss Optics HOLO KJ HAMLER Broncos PSA 10 GEM MINT VERY LOW POP"

Do you think buyers are drawn more to sellers who have lots of positive reviews, or do you think it will hurt me if I don’t have any reviews to start?…Also at what card value do you recommend getting a PSA grade on? I wouldn’t assume it’s cost effective to get a grade on a card that’s only worth $10.

    • @FootballCardQuest
      @FootballCardQuest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Brett, welcome to the Quest sir! yea Buyers will absolutely pay more for a card and buy more often from a seller with more feedback, but ultimately its super important to have 100% positive feedback. You can get your feedback rankings up buying as well. When it comes to grading , the most important factor is getting a PSA10, especially on modern and ultra modern cards. I wouldn't submit anything worth less than $20 or $30 in raw format and I would examine very closely for any flaws - surface, corners, edges, and centering. you absolutely want a 10 otherwise it will most likely be a waste of time and money.

    • @TheOGEmoticon
      @TheOGEmoticon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a few things you can do here. If I sell a $20+ card, I sandwich the protected card in cardboard and send in a bubble mailer. I'll often use some base filler cards as both some extra padding and ideally a bonus for that person/their kids, etc. The key is to not only secure the card so it doesn't rattle around, but protect it as best you can. From there, you can either print a label through eBay or go through PirateShip for what is usually a cheaper label. With this, you can choose between multiple carriers, not just USPS. I also always make sure to insure the package. The small amount you spend for it will come in VERY handy for the times when you pack/ship like a champ, but the package/item takes damage. I hope this has been helpful!

      Hey Attila, right now it’s posted up in our patreon discord server over at www.Patreon.com/footballcards and I’ll be featuring it again in upcoming videos

    I am taking offers on a marvel sketch card and have offers as high as $6,000 right now.
    I am skeptical of using eBay tho. Is there any way for this customer to demand a refund after the fact? It’s a very expensive 1 of a kind card and I want no shenanigans on their part where I end up losing it or then sending me back an injured card.

      make sure when you list the card no select the no refunds option, and make sure you ship with insurance, tracking, the whole deal. I would also film yourself sealing it in package and dropping it off at post office for ultimate insurance policy. ultimately they are ebay's problem if you do all of this.

      Great question will. I will answer on Friday morning live stream. Short answer is you wanna submit a card that’s gonna get a 10 first and foremost.

    What you could do is review peoples listings and give feedback. If you increased someone’s sales…. !

      No, unless you’ve listed over 250 cards already for the month. They should be offering you the first 250 cards listed each month for free

    Are you paying a 12% final value fee on sales?

    • @FootballCardQuest
      @FootballCardQuest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. I am. I have setup for my eBay proceeds to be directly deposited into my bank account which does cut out the need for PayPal integration with has cut down on my fees, but I still have to account for the 12% eBay fee, yes.

    Incorrect sir! 11:37 your listing habits dictate your success on eBay. If the card's hot. It will sell. Buuut, the casini algorithm looks at what you do and how you do it.
