    I changed what I was listing, sort of similar to what you're doing. I had been listing everything and anything, trying to get my number of items up, but there was a lot of cheap base singles in that, some that were likely not worth listing. I did some math on what I wanted to make, and what I needed to sell to make that, and I'm slowly transitioning to selling more lots, to get rid of a lot of bulk and prospects that I went all in on this baseball season. I listen to a lot of the Resellers Podcast and Daily Refinement, and those guys are the people that know what you need to do to run a reselling business on eBay. I'm working on getting more quality items over quantity, which those guys advocate. It's going to take a while to get it all straightened out, but I've got another job too, so I'm doing it when I can. I hope you have a good football season, because it's coming up quick! I really enjoy watching your videos, and thank you for putting them together every now and again, when you're able!

      @thoel_905 I went into the Navy after collecting as a kid, but I'm 53 now too sir. The biggest card to get back in my day was the 85 McGwire USA baseball card, and I was finally able to pick one up again recently. My old collection went in my mom's barn, and some of it was ruined, but I've been able to salvage a good amount of cards from my youth. I just loved some of the great moments we lived through, with the big homerun race with McGwire and Sosa, and I'll never forget them. I've also always been a Browns fan, and Chubb is the best Browns player to come along in a while. I'm also a huge Chris Spielman fan, because me and my dad got to see a few of his high school games when I was young, and I collect him too. You can't take those memories away, of getting to go up to a game with my dad, and then that guy makes it to pro ball, and does well. I'm definitely a huge sports fan, and collector first, and I want to thank you for your kind words, sir.

    I'm 50 miles South of Houston & I'm trying to figure out how to get my cards rated. I bought 1000's of complete sets of 60's, 70's & 80's Donruss, Topps, Fleer & Ultra's, Upper Decks that I bought at an Estate Sale back in the 90's. I have Basketball cards like Jordan's, rookies, etc. This guy that died knew what he was collecting, but I have no idea what I have.

    Hey JMac great video, and I have a question I'd like your opinion on. What happens to a cards value when a player gets traded to another team? For example, I have some Justin Fields cards that I purchased in the $1200-$1700 range. With talks of Chicago trading Fields away, would you dump the cards now or will they continue to hold their value even if he gets traded?

    • @edwardray2832

      So what's your answer???

    • @mattgohlke8216
      @mattgohlke8216 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      At this point, those cards are probably worth a fraction of what you paid. 2 choices, sell them for a loss, or you're going to need to hold them for almost a year if not a few years with your fingers crossed hoping his career gets pulled out of the mud, the team he's playing for if that happens wont hurt too much, considering the Bears arent a super profitable team in sports cards. I mean, in the entire history of the Bears they haven't had a single true superstar QB.

    So, what do you do with your " unsold" cards on ebay? Im one that has several commons in my store. Lately ive listed lots of sports card inserts and Hof. I like youe stradgy,makes good sense. I have mostly older cards. Not vintage, not junk, i guess lots of early 2000s. They sell so so. I just cant find many collection to buy.... people ive talked to dont seem to want me look thru the cards...im not buying w/ o looking ! Enjoyed your video. Im learning ! 😅

    • @JMacSportsCards

    How do you like the ebay fees

    • @JMacSportsCards
      @JMacSportsCards  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dont mind them at all, most cards that are sold would never sell anywhere else (or if they did it would be less that what it sold for eBay minus the fees everyone tries to by for 70-75 percent of EBAY for a reason), fees in my book are tax write offs and simply part of business expense, and for folks that are successful sellers online eBay is by far the biggest platform by a big margin.... Folks that complain about fees dont understand how to run a successful business in most cases...
