    Good stuff brother! I actually have found I can ship more than 2 cards, each in toploaders up to about 5 total...I use a manila style 6x9 envelope. These are fairly cheap to purchase in bulk (slightly more than just PWE) yet cheaper to purchase than bubble mailers or cardboard mailers. They work in the Standard Envelope category as well. What I do is simply stack them 2 cards high and then side by side. So, you have 4 cards stacked in 2 stacks of 2. I use team bags (one for each stack) then just tape the bags together as well as a single piece of tape to hold them down on the envelope inside. It has worked well for me and was actually originally how I shipped all my cards (even single) before moving to the PWE. The #6 PWE is my single or 2 card choice. You can actually use a #10 and use the same process as the 6x9 manila as well! Hope this helps/makes sense!😂

    Under $20 I use 6x4 security envelope penny sleeve and top loader.
    Over $20 I use 7x5x2 box penny sleeve, top loader, team bag and small bubble mailer with some grocery bags around the bubble mailer for extra padding.
    Over $20 I tend to include a few extra low cost cards in penny sleeves of the same team/player on each side of the card in the team bag. Probably overkill but it’s what I like to do.

    I started adding the additional shipping option as well. For my listings, eBay standard envelope is free, but buyers can pay the calculated rate to “upgrade” their shipping to USPS Ground Advantage.

    Do you have any advice for shipping multiple cards like maybe a dozen at once? Each one in a top loader or use nine-pocket sleeves. I've just opened two boxes of 1991 basketball cards and thought about selling sets per team.

    • @CardZooSportsCards
      @CardZooSportsCards  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's the grey area and I'm still refining my shipping practices for these situations myself. For international shipments, I started putting a note in my description like "International shipments of 3 or more may be split into multiple orders" because otherwise the package is too big and doesn't qualify as letter mail anymore. But for domestic, if the overall order is enough where I can still make profit, a lot of times I send it USPS ground advantage. Like if it's a dozen cards and the order total is $25, I'd prob send as ground advantage. It's 4.99, but with that much cards/cushion, I usually can still make profit. I've heard other cases where people send in a bigger flat envelope like flat cardboard one or flat manila and tape the toploaders together side by side and up and down to keep it "flat" enough. I haven't done that (don't necesarily mind it as a buyer), but a little to "bootstrapped" for me as a seller. Hope this helps! Eventually, I'm working to clearly define in my store, (if the order is above $XX number of dollars, it will be shipped this way, but if not will be shipped this way). Just need to do more research on my end to ensure I'm still making a profit and protecting the cards in the process. Thanks again for the question and please report back and let me know how your journey goes!

      @@CardZooSportsCards Thanks for your thoughts on this. So the key is to just charge enough to cover USPS ground advantage.

    • @CardZooSportsCards
      @CardZooSportsCards  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The key is the charge enough so that the cost doesn’t get too high for the buyer, but high enough that you still make profit. That’s where knowing what you are or aren’t making on card sales comes into play like I’ve mentioned in other videos. It’s a delicate dance and you really have to know your numbers or you can end up losing money on an order of multiple cards where you would have made money if you just sold the single card. I’ve done it:). Good luck!

    First thing first I must say that I love all of your videos. I think they are great and very helpful.
    I have a question and I’m not sure how to or what’s the best method.
    I am scared of doing lots due to the high shipping cost. Some of the cards I do list are not high end and it’s low quantity 6 or under. I have weighted the cards and based on the weight I can use eBay standards (under $20)
    Now should I use a bubble mailer of a eBay standard 6 or under card lot or just use the large envelope option? And that’s the issues. Since I don’t know how to ship on large envelopes please give me some advise if you have any.
    What’s the best method on shipping 6 or under card lot with the best cost efficient
    Thank you once again and grea great videos I always look forward to your videos

      Hi there. Thanks so much for watching and for the support. The most I usually do in a Plain white envelope under the eBay standard envelope (under $20) is usually 4 cards, but others have sent more in various ways..for example in a longer envelope with two piles of cards side by side and taped to the envelope. I don’t do this because it feels a little too bootstrapped for me. Another option is to split the order into two smaller envelopes. You can print a new label on eBay for any order and then send 3 cards in 1 envelope, 3 in another, and upload the second tracking number to the appropriate cards. I personally don’t do padded (bubble) mailers through eBay standard envelope. Per USPS you aren’t supposed to, and even though some sneak by depending on the post office, I don’t want to risk being inconsistent. What I do is either split the cards in multiple plain white envelope’s as I mentioned, or use a bubble mailer and send ground advantage. I don’t have much under 1.99..so for 6 cards at 1.99 I usually have enough of a margin to use a small bubble mailer and send ground advantage. Hope this helps!

    • @CardZooSportsCards
      @CardZooSportsCards  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah unfortunately it’s just not that reliable. I believe that barcode looking thing on the front is what tracks it and i think it might not always scan correctly at the post office if at all. Most buyers and sellers on eBay know that it’s unreliable, and tolerate it in a sense. In other words, I wouldn’t let it deter you from using the eBay standard envelope option. Just know that tracking issues may come up, and that’s where good communication with the buyer helps clear things up like when an item says arrived but hasn’t or hasn’t arrived but says it did. Sometimes it will say delivered a day or two before it is, so you don’t have to be too quick to refund if the buyer is ok to wait an extra day or two. Good luck!

      I am a new subscriber but I am enjoying your videos! :) I have been selling cards (mostly football, basketball and baseball) on eBay for almost 7 years. I have been selling more in the past 2 years but there is always something new to learn or something to enhance and apply to each seller's needs or goals. Thank you for the awesome tips.
      In addition, regarding USPS scanning or uploading tracking, I was told by my previous post office that most of the time, they will toss the envelope in the bag without scanning. So now, If I drop my items off in person, I request a receipt and they usually scan these in which will put the item in transit. However, if the item is not scanned in by the destination post office, it will show in transit until it is delivered. This is more of an issue for my Mercari store than my eBay store. I usually tell me Mercari customers to allow 2-3 weeks for the item to arrive if it is PWE. I always follow up with them as well to ensure their card has arrived.@@CardZooSportsCards

      @@izzybella9547 Thanks for the extra info and for watching! Glad the information was helpful to you. That makes sense that some USPS offices would do that since that seems to happen quite frequently with the tracking. Essentially, the ebay standard tracking is just very unreliable for the exact reason you mentioned being one of them. You just never know how your local post office is going to treat the letter, and everyone has a different story about their local branch. Not a reason not to use the ebay standard envelope in my eyes, but always something to be aware of and keep communication open with buyers. Thanks again and good luck!

    Awesome video quick question I purchased bubble mailers to send cards if someone paid $1.25 can I still send via bubble mailer or would that be envelope only or would I be the one to end up paying extra shipping cost? Thank you.

    • @CardZooSportsCards
      @CardZooSportsCards  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can ship in whatever you want…you just want to be consistent and ship using the same service that you’re buyer paid for. If you charge 4.99 for usps ground, don’t ship in a plain white envelope for $0.69 because that will make your buyer upset. Conversely if you charge 1.25 for shipping, yeah you could use a bubble mailer, but it won’t make it through USPS as eBay standard envelope, so you’d have to pay extra and ship it USPS ground and you would be the one to eat the cost. So better to work out ahead of time what you are gonna offer/charge your buyers and then ship with the same method. Good luck!

      Did you use too much maybe? For singles in a PWE, one little piece on the top of the top loader is all you need. For cards in a bubble mailer or even larger orders, I’ve had sellers use a lot of it..like multiple layers wrapped around the cards or cardboard. You still don’t need much even for large orders..maybe one layer both ways vertical and horizontal and not too tight. This is the standard tape that almost everyone uses unless you have your own custom sticky labels like upper deck. People will complain to complain.

      If you buy your label from eBay under the eBay standard envelope program then you can print the label from eBay either using a label printer or taping it to the front of the envelope. As long as you buy the postage through eBay then you don’t have to wait in line at the USPS. You can just drop it off at any mailbox since it’s already paid postage.

      Thanks. They are but it’s fairly unreliable. Sometimes it says delivered before it actually is. Sometimes it’s delivered but says it isn’t. Sometimes it isn’t delivered at all. Not reasons not to use it, but something to be aware of that you’ll have these issues come up - usually out of your control.

    If you use a team bag, don't use the painter's tape. There's no reason for it. Turn the top loader upside-down in the team bag and seal it. This way, the bottom of the team bag sits up against the opening of the top loader, ensuring the card doesn't come out.
    An invoice is nice if you are buying the same card from different sellers. Just yesterday I received two of the same card from two different sellers. I had to use the eBay standard envelope tracking numbers to figure out who sent what.
    Also, semi-rigids offer more than enough protection for sending a card eBay standard envelope. I buy Pokémon cards from Japanese sellers all the time. I've never received one in a top loader. I've never received a damaged card from Japan. If a card can make it unscathed all the way from Japan without a top loader, why use them? Because buyers here expect them. Too many people think if you don't ship in a top loader, you are a terrible seller.

    • @CardZooSportsCards
      @CardZooSportsCards  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great tips, thanks for watching. I’ve contemplated the semi rigids over the toploaders, not opposed to them but never really made the switch because I still have a good chunk of toploaders on hand from a bulk purchase. May take a look at semi rigids before the next supply purchase and compare cost.
