This could be the hit product they are hoping for. Chinese netizens are very happy with the price coupled with the superior product. Pitting the G6 directly against the Model Y have given them the exposure they wanted.
20% cheaper than Y. 25% more efficient than Y. Charges 30-80% than Y (depends on the charger) Better suspension than Y. More interior space. Better sound. Better ADAS than FSD. Best voice control of any company in the world. The list is endless. Y is a bit faster around a track but not much.
Fun fact. If you stick G6 next to Y on a 3rd party charger, Y charging will slow to a crawl and wait for G6 to finish first. Lol.

I started my career in marketing, nearly 40 years ago, working for Vauxhall in the UK (then owned by GM). I remember being in a meeting where someone got very excited about one consumer report saying that a particular model (Astra estate, I think) was better safety-wise than Volvo. "We should run that and an ad!", he proclaimed. "Why would you want to spend our ad money advertising a competitor?", I queried. (At that point Volvo "owned" safety and a single ad from a rival was not going to shift public perception). This positioning by Xpeng reminds me of the same thing. If you have to compare yourself to someone else really what you are declaring is that you are actually inferior to the comparator. It's a demonstration of male insecurity that is as old as time...

xpeng adas is crappy, they had that going on and crash into a car on the high and killed the guy. their adas did not detect the car to stop and slam into it. there is your xpeng adas

I found your video professional, thank you for this content. I think this model will do very well in China, and maybe also in other markets. What I'm really interested in is a comparison of the nvidia system with Tesla's FSD. It seems nvidia is getting pretty good.
The 209,900 RMB made it a hit. One store even has oeople lining up to test drive it till 1 am😯
Nvidia uses far more sensors than Tesla.
@@alexlo7708 yes, but I wonder which strategy is better. More sensors yield more data, which could result in more accurate decisions. But Tesla is purposefully simplifying their design, focusing on less but relevant data. They are exciting times...

@@alexlo7708 Yes and no... There is no competitor that invests as much as Tesla in data gathering and processing I think. Next year they will dedicate 1 billion USD to that and will build the 5th largest supercomputer, just for that.
Tesla can produce at lower cost because of a very well thought out design of the cars and production process. They have many innovations in both domains. Other manufacturers are following (eg gigapress), but still lagging behind.
One of the reason why you were constantly reminded to touch the steering wheel can be that you keep turning your eyes off the road. G6 use the DMS to monitor driver’s attention. If you are looking at the road, the system will reduce the reminder frequency.

@@madev_channel turns out, the early software version of the G6 caused the problem. They adopted the tuning directly from G9, but the hardware is different on the G6. They have since fixed the issue by fine tuning the software for G6. Now my G6 rarely triggers the steering wheel warning.
I prefer this car above the tesla one. I don’t care as much about track performance, but I do care about build quality / reliability, comfort and technlogical prowess. In my opinion tesla shines in its software and in functionality added by means of software, but other companies are stepping up and are closing the gap.
I am a big fan of the XPeng G6 as it definitely has good technology, a distinctive design, and strong positioning.
I don't think it directly competes with the Model Y in any way, but it is an excellent product.

xpeng g6 specs kills the model y in every level except for performance and for way lower price. this is unfair for tesla this car is just too good. 10 to 80% charge probably under 15mn. more range, etc etc. this car has it all. but as always people prefer american brands even if they are not good. i got a new model y and it broke 2 times under 1 month and came with a lot of cosmetic problems. build quality still not good

I suggest you remove the background music. Clarity of speech is much more important, and not all are English native speaking people. I am not.
First of all it's a chinese car brand, a lowcost model, with no network of spare parts maintenance or repair.
Secondly is a chinese car brand.
Third, is a chinese car brand.
The only reason any non chinese would want to buy it, is if it has performance similar to other, world renowned brands, and half the price or less (local, not in china).
So, if this is great as model y, then the price should be half of the model y, and also have good distribution network, in case of accidents or damages or upgrade to be able to get parts in 1 week with very low shipping costs, or no costs at all, directly from a local warehouse/store/dealer.

Accidents are not possible with Xpeng even if other road users acts badly to try creating an accident, Xpeng level 4 or soonly 5 ADAS Systems, named XNGP, will try it's best to escape such dangerous situation.... It is too secure, not the contrary as Tesla dies by deleting useful technologies to spare money for Space X wastings... 😊

It loses on pretty much all measureble specs, essentially the Xpeng is just a cheap copy of the Tesla and that's all. They are known for copying Tesla in every way possible, including bribing (former) Tesla employees.
