My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee indian. Her name was Carey Porch. She died at age 25 but had my grandmother and my great aunt Johnsie. They sent to an orphanage my grandmother's name was Winnie Porch. My great aunt was two years old and was adopted but my grandmother was 5 and not adopted. She worked on farms for families for her keep when she was older. She married at 13 years old and had her first child at 14 years old. She used to tell us stories about her childhood and it would make me cry. I never knew my father so this is all I know about where I came from. People years ago lived hard liives compared to us.

I am very passionate about this country. I am 74. I have traced genealogy back to the early 1600's in England. We are also Scottish and Irish. I have ancestors who came to Jamestown. Have ancestors who fought in the Revolution, the War of 1812 and the Civil War. My Dad fought in WWII and my husband was a Cobra pilot in Vietnam. Our oldest son was in the first Iraqi war and our youngest son was a crew chief on Black Hawks during the second Iraqi war. We have a Grandson making a career in the Air Force now. We have a long long heritage of fighting for freedom for this country. You darn right I am passionate about it and so is my husband. So are out kids and our grandkids. This is why we need to take a step back and get back to the Constitution and our Founding principles. We are losing our Republic and all my ancestors didn't fight for our freedoms for nothing. Neither did my Dad, my husband, nor my sons. My heart breaks seeing what I am seeing today. That is one of the reasons we live close to the land and we are ready to defend our little piece of it if need be. Pray for our nation. Pray that we get Godly men and women back in the local governments, the state houses and the halls of Congress in DC. Pray that God will cover us with His protection from the powers that want to destroy us.

Amen Patara.. I'm 80 years old and I love finding out about family and I encourage my children and grandchildren...My Grandpa, George Billy (Jur Bily) left home at 16, the Austro Hungarian Empire in 1881. He hired on to a sailing freighter in the Mediterainin and sailed around Africa to Madagascar ...India .. SE Asia..across the Pacific to Vancouver. He jumped ship there and found work in the Alberta area as a logger...worked for many years and then scooted down to Idaho...got a job working on the newly formed railroad and worked his way east...when he made it to NY/NJ he sent for his girl friend, my Grandma. She came to NJ and married him. He was a founder of the Lutheran Church I grew up attending..they had 14 children. My poor Grandma had her last baby when she was 48 years old, she must have been one tough lady. My Momma was #10 and helped to raise the younger ones... My Grandpa built and operated the water system for the town they settled in... Where would I be without my ancestors? You are so right about family. Thank you and God Bless.

My ancestors from the highland clans of Scotland were supposed to sail to America in 1775. The ship turned back because of a storm and stayed in harbor for several months. Some of the people could not complete the voyage when it later continued because they had depleted their resources. My ancestors made it anyway, and that turned out to be the last ship of Scottish coming to America, because the English saw a war brewing with America and didn't want those rough-and-ready clansmen fighting on the other side! Turns out the McKayes made it over!

Patara, just a bit of info that might interest you. When the Prince of Orange came to the North of Ireland in 1689, he brought his battle hardened Dutch troops, but he also brought Hessian troops with him who had been part of his army in Europe against the French.
It's just interesting that of all the Germans you could've been descended from, it turned out to be Hessians 🤔

We arrived here back in the early 1630's to the Massachusetts Bay Company. The other side got here in the early 1700's. I don't want to let them and everyone that followed, down. Thanks for sharing your genealogy adventures, Patera. I got hooked on it in college when my Texas History professor assigned a 10-page genealogy research paper as a term project. I was fortunate enough to have several relatives who had started the research. Mother shared their research with me. My paper ended up being a 400 page book, and I was thoroughly addicted. I had found many of my ancestors in the history books as being among the founding fathers of Texas. The search began!

I can't research my Mother's as she was adopted in 1953 and I'm just not willing to send my DNA off to a lab. The information I found on my Father's side, such as our relation to John C. Hancock, inspired me to keep digging. I'm a mix of German & Irish from my Grandfather's side and from what I've found about my Grandmother's side so far is mostly Polish. Petara, my father did our geneology a d he found so much information from the Mormon library. We are not Morman but he still was able to research there. We found our family when they left PA and took the Oregon Trail. Some settled in Iowa. The library is probably accessible online by now. It's supposed to be the most accurate genealogy in the country. I love your channel, watch you daily. Love to hear confirmation of our same thoughts. Very hard to prepare in a fishing camp in FL. But like you say, we prepare as best we can. Happy birthday 🎉 God is good.❤

You are blessed to have such knowledge available regarding your family background.

The sun setting on the trees behind you are beautiful. Im Indian,Irish and German also. Ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War&Civil War. They came over from Germany and settled in Virginia, then spread out to Kentucky&Tennesee&Missouri. Yes, if it wasn't for them, their courage&determination, a lot of us Patriots wouldn't exist. That is a humbling thought, that so many things could have prevented our being here. Providence...we were meant to be here. Wonder what GOD will expect of us for the sake of this generation? 🤔🤗❤️🙏

They made decisions we can't comprehend in our modern world. Thank you for the video and take good care.

PLEASE - As presidential and national politics hit the media fan fare, remember to vote closer to home for the assorted bond, levy, and local elections ranging from community to state positions. If election security has been an issue for you or in your area, take the time to figure out your voting status before trying to fill out or submit a ballot. With all of the changes to voting laws across the country, check to see if any will change the way you vote, before you try to vote. Every vote counts.

He finished the war drumming in Washington's army. He was granted land on the PA and VA border just west of Pittsburgh, PA after the war.

I found on my dad side I have a family member who came from Congo and my mom’s side Irish in German all in Virginia they were all sharecroppers now I know where my love of homesteading comes from. I had ancestors that fall in a revolutionary war, and I’ve also had ancestors who fought put on a confederate side of the Civil War, and one of my ancestors was actual doctor in the Civil War. It was pretty cool to see my grandmother side that her grandfather was a Civil War prisoner.

So similar…my ancestor came from Germany to Pennsylvania. He came here for religious freedom and he became a Lutheran. He was sent to South Carolina to start a church. How precious life is because when researching the family line in Germany, I found they were Jewish and killed at Auschwitz. Life decisions are so important even if we don’t see it at the moment.

My grandmother and grandfather emmigrated here from Canada, roots originated from Paris in the 1500s. My dad used to say, if you have Canadian roots you have Indian in you. Three of my grandparents died before I was born. My only gramma I met died at 68. I remember she used to crochet, can, make jelly, and her own soap. I remember her with a few chickens and when she slaughtered one, it began running around with no head! I didnt learn from her or my mom, but learned later on my own to crochet (learned how to single crochet when I was in a battered women's shelter, and taught myself how to make grannie squares, and double and triple crochet), bake bread, can, make jams and jellies. I think those few memories I had helped me, even if I didnt learn directly how from family.
