For carbon fiber product. I’d only go with Varis. JDM brand , made in Japan and handmade only. I got pair of carbon fiber exhaust heat shield. Great quality($450 kinda expensive). Will get more varis in the future.
Varis is for sure top tier when it comes to carbon fiber. However I don't think they make a part like this. I was only aware of Seibon making this part.
i had there fenders on my 12 WRX and fitment was spotty aswell on a larger piece. your not alone... almost like you have to modify so much you cant go back to stock.
Ok mine just showed up. After watching this I’m a bit concerned but I’m gonna use your tips to install this….and what’s with the nuts and bolts. Also yes apparently you are the first to show this! Thanks dude!
Well I hope it goes a lot smoother for you! Does your not have the nuts and bolts? I assumed it was going to utilize the factory clips when I bought it.
The damage did not occur during transit. It was poorly made, shipped damaged from Saibon. BS. Their policy should not apply to something they mess up! There are plenty of other alternatives less expensive, less waiting time, and have the same quality, This is the reason why I don't buy from them.
Trust me I didn't want too, but I waited months for it and I knew I wouldn't get much back for the part. I figured the fender is easily replaceable if I had to get a new one some day...
Just give it a 2⭐ review. how are you supposed to check product before delivery if it inside a box and by the time you open it, the delivery truck is halfway down the block? 1st set must have been a "Friday" part or done by the new guy. yes, they look nice; but too much work for the money...
I bought a front lip from them it came three times cracked lol I destroyed three carbon fiber lips lol and the fourth one still came little cracked but I said fuck it coz it was dragging for three months so I kept it and they refunded me some money Seibon suck
Looks dope. Unfortunately there products suck anymore. I bought there fenders for my evo over 1k n sold um for less cause there fitment was completely garbage. Fuck that. For the price it’s not professional. Quality before quantity
Yeah for the price and name I thought fitment would be a lot better. I can understand a bit of sanding to make it fit, but if I didn't drill out the holes on my fender I'd have to remove the stud and redo them... makes no sense
You lost me at drilling my fenders ! Can’t believe you went ahead and did all that would have sent them back. $500 and having to do that is horrible. Glad you made this to steer others clear…. Geeze just realized you spent that long on one side….. omg😮
Only reason why I went with it was that specific fender I wouldn't mind replacing. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't do it. First set had issues, second set wasn't even that great. I had a few people upset saying I should've modified the seibon fender caps, I tried bending the bolts but not willing to cut them off and glue them back on. Should have better fitment in my opinion. In the future I might just do complete carbon fiber fender replacments.
I've heard hoods are okay, might need to shim the hood latch. The trunk you'll need to modify the cut outs to fits the OEM camera, lights, handle, etc. Any TH-cam video install will show this.
At this point, I'd skip Seibon all together. I get why ppl want to add style (and lightness doesn't hurt), but I'm not convinced their stuff is worth the hassle. I don't care what SEMA shows us (parts can be made flawless for the show to give a better impression) as far as how ppl use their products. These parts here should be easy to replicate, but cf doesn't like tight radius corners and the way they use bolts tells me that they used minimal engineering design in the final product. Sadly, better quality does cost more and $500 gets you mediocre....good luck.
@@K03sport well the issue with aftermarket carbon parts is you really don't get much weight reduction. It's mainly for looks. When I purchased it I assumed Seibon could make decent parts that bolt straight up. But it seems like anyone that get sponsored gets the parts that fit perfect. I have no problem paying more for quality, but currently I believe Seibon is the only company that makes this part. So I was stuck having to get it from them. It is what it is
I have a Seibon hood. I don't know about other people, but I did have fitment issues. The gap on both sides between the hood and fenders was good; however, when latched, the hood sat flush with the passenger side, but sat pretty high above the fender on the driver side, about half an inch or more. Nothing I did could get it to sit flush, so I had to heavily trim the area where the stock latch bolts on. I ended up trimming too far so I had to refill that section with fiberglass and repaint it flat black. Even with that, the hood still wouldn't sit flush so I ended up having to install Aerocatch hood latches, which was an adventure in of itself, not the easiest thing in the world. But after that, by forcibly latching it down using the stock latch and the Aero latches, I got it to sit flush. After some time with the hood latch, I assume from the heat of the engine and the sun, it eventually reformed itself to the new shape so I no longer have to force it shut. Hope that helps!
@@deadbeatuniversity oh all good, no the wheels never came with lugs. Just got some cheapo black ones when I put the wheels on. I have a video showing the install and specs if you are interested.
Only way to modify the part was to completely remove the bolts and refiberglass them. Didn't have the time to do that. But also my driver fender was already not in the best condition and i was already looking for a replacment. So I drilled it out for the meantime. My passenger side was fine. Trust me people that know me know I hate doing something permanent to my car.
@@zach_lush all you need to do removed some bolts the one didnt lined up and use urethane glue to hold the panel jobs done without damaging the fender holes , incase some day peoples change they mind want to put the original panel back on ? The holes is there still stock factory without buying new fender and painting it again with big dollars involve.
@@ozgloss_7902 multiple bolts wouldve needed to be redone. Also the paint is already damaged on my current fender that was modified. No point in getting a brand new fender. Just find a part out with the same paint code.
@@remissiveslave...I'm still trying to wrap my head around how cf parts and "bad engine" are related. Is the EJ257 perfect, no. Neither is the FA20. To expensive to not fit perfectly. Thanks for the video because I almost ordered some.
Strongly agree
They know their products aren't a perfect fit, so they hit you with the "professional installation recommended " line.

My fiance was considering getting these and now after watching your video he has decided to pass. Thank you for posting if we very helpful for him.
They look great but the amount of work to make them fit is unfortunate. I'm sure he'll find something else to get fairly quick! Haha
Should have brought your oem for a carbon design water dipping. Cheaper and no need to worry on the Fitment! 😊👍🍺
Yes that is true, but unfortunately hydro dipping the carbon doesn't have the same look or depth compared to real carbon
Bro I use wrxdaily. Zero issues, great quality.
For what? Carbon parts? I have good ways of getting them. But for the fender caps I have yet to see another company make them.
