- Reading Royals' body language during extraordinary Queen's coffin procession | Palace Confidential. Another extraordinary occasion of mourning for the Queen brought the Royal Family back together in Westminster Hall yesterday. The occasion was also revealing in the body language between the senior female Royals, says the Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English. ‘You couldn’t help but notice it from where we were standing. You could see that Camilla, Kate and Sophie were together and the body language was very comfortable between them. But then there was Meghan and you could have almost fitted somebody else in that space,’ she tells our royal talk show Palace Confidential. ‘Even if you didn’t know what we all know that has happened over the last few years, you’d have turned up and thought “that looks a bit odd, there’s something slightly wrong here.”’

Please mention the Duke of Kent, he has been there for her always, but more so since Prince Phillip passed. His sense of duty & his paying his final show of deep respect for his cousin The Queen. Watching him walk behind her coffin & he look liked he was really struggling but determined to be there for HER for this his last time.

For dignity & decorum I know it cannot be any other way. But I am appalled at MM's presence at the ceremonies. Looking at her anywhere near the RF that she has so deeply & deliberately hurt while their beloved Mother & Grandmother the Queen was ill, is cringe worthy. I have deepest respect for their ability to tolerate her presence with dignity.

I am beginning to wonder why so many people think that all that is needed is a hug and a kiss and all will be forgiven and go back to the way things were. They cannot. A paradigm shift has happened. Prince William cannot begin to trust Harry and certainly I would think no one can feel comfortable around Meghan. This American Grandmother so admires and respects the lovely Catherine, The Princess of Wales. In deep mourning, she was there to comfort the people during her walkabouts not to be comforted. I admire her dignity and grace while having the intrusion of a woman that caused the Queen and her family so much pain and heartache. Her fortitude doing an engagement with the cruel Narcissist that deeply hurt her tiny daughter more than once. Her composure being in the presence of the viciously vindictive and rabidly jealous woman who certainly shortened the days of a loving Grandmother on this earth was remarkable. The sad and shattered Princess had to walk in the shadow of shame of a brother in law she had loved and supported who had once called her "the Sister he never had". She and her Prince maintained an air of dignified sadness which was blighted by the petting and pawing of the other couple. The lasting legacy the Narcissist paid to the Queen and loving Grandmother will forever be " I didn't sign a NDA and I will say what I want." While Catherine shares her warmth to console the people, she has 3 young and tender hearts at home which she must guide through the various stages of grief. I give the lovely Catherine my love and respect. She already is an extraordinary Princess of Wales and will make a remarkable Queen. 💜

As someone (and I'm sure there are millions like me) who has been deeply hurt by their families, I think this notion of mending fences or whatever euphemism you want to use is actually harmful. Harry has betrayed his family's trust in him and to imply that they ought to all forgive and forget is like telling someone to go back to an abusive spouse.

I hate to say it this time, but please stop including Mehgan in any tributes. She married Harry in May 2018 - then left the royal family of her own accord in 2020. Less than two years, and she now wants to be depicted in the press as a grieving member of the royal family... When in fact no other person has ever done so much harm to the royal family - the Oprah TV interview, smaller barbs against the RF over the years, The Cut interview and her own podcasts; never mentioning names to back up her claims (never any proof) Both Harry and Meghan need to hang their heads in shame and leave the UK quickly and quietly after our Queens funeral. They tried to bring shame to our royal family and therefore in my eyes they are no longer members of our Royal Family.

I hear you and couldn't agree more. I'm an American and I don't want them to live in my country either. They are so boring and uninteresting. Especially Meghan, if she doesn't want to be a British citizen then why on earth did she marry into the British Royal family? I wish people would stop compare her with Princess Diana. It would not have any positive value for King Charles to allow Harry's return. I don't know a single person who wants him back.

Not sure what popularity they are supposed to build on for H. He is burning bridges, not just with his family, left and right. He definitely has fewer and fewer fans here in the US every time he opens his mouth about our Constitutional rights or anything American in general. The only popularity he really has is with MM fan base and even they only tolerate him because of her. Does he have supporters still in the UK?
Not very much. There is an element of 'he's an idiot, but he's our idiot', but most find it almost impossible to forgive the lies and unfair accusations spouted by his wife, which he did nothing to prevent, his own preachy speeches (written by her), their hypocrisy and all the hurt they have caused at a time of great stress and sadness for the family. They would have to eat an awful lot of humble pie, and I can't see that happening. It seems like just when you think they can't stoop any lower, they do. He's completely in her thrall, and although he went willingly, he is more trapped now than he ever was before. (Remember he 'never knew he was trapped until she told him' - when he was a working member of the RF that is). Most people hope Charles will not be soft on him.

Yes. If only we could turn back the time and erase that dreadful night Harry met this social climber, back stabbing witch. That would be nice. But alas that is not possible. The fact of the matter is, we could only hope for a reconciliation but as long as Megain is in the picture, it will never happen. I wholly disagree! I loved Harry with Cate and Wills but definitely not Meghan. Meghan is not fabulous and Charles would be an absolute FOOL to take them back into the fold after everything they did. Had Harry met and married a woman who was supportive and appreciative of his role and of his family then yes, there might have been a fab 4.
Honestly I do not miss the "fab 4" at all. It never looked as if there was enough space for Cate and Meghan to exist alongside each other as Meghan didn't like that she would be second to Cate - she wished to be first. Meghan just doesn't fit in and never will. They looked so incredibly uncomfortable around each other these last few days! The humiliation and the lies they spread about the RF and particularly about Cate having made Meghan cry - the lies etc.
They simply invited Harry along as there was absolutely no other choice and I bet if Meghan went back to the USA, they would have been more satisfied. Meghan was smirking when looking at the coffin
It was a real duper's delight look. One corner of her mouth was turned up in a sort of contemptuous smile. The other half of her face was more neutral, but that smugness and contempt always shows through. OH, GET HER OUT OF THERE! How many more perks will she be allowed? So far H & M are being treated exactly like WIlliam and Kate. This did NOT happen at the Jubilee. So this must be Charles' doing, as William has been seething for a long time over this. But no one gets to express any of this. Shock (no one expected her to die like this), heavy grief, and unexpressed FURY at these two parading around with her smug, "look at me, world" attitude. She is getting all the attention she ever wanted. All this discussion of her podcast being withheld will only create more curiosity about it and drive up the ratings. It just looks as if she is winning.

Great episode! Thank you for highlighting in pictures the different aspects of the Queen's life. It's been so moving. She was your Monarch and head of state but she was also a person. As your Monarch she was a wonderful diplomat but as a person she was a moral compass for the world. May she rest in Peace.
I’m so glad that the RF has some time to their selves to finally grieve. The Royal ladies (minus 1), really brought me to tears.
American here. For my 57 years HMTQ has been quietly, faithfully, loyally in the background of the world. When she traveled to the commonwealths, she was met with love, adoration, and admiration. She conducted herself with poise, dignity, respect and was received with what she gave, love. When someone says "the Queen......." you knew who they meant. You didn't need to add Elizabeth. She was THE ONLY Queen. Queen of the WORLD. She was known WORLDWIDE! Never heard a cross word about her.(now they're talking about colonialism, they didn't when she was alive).
I have watched her on tv since I was a child. I have watched ALL the weddings, live, on tv, from Diana's, down to the Last one. I NEVER missed her Christmas addresses. I loved her!! I watched Philip's funeral, Diana's also.
You knew this day was coming, yet it still feels unbelievable. For those lucky enough to be in her presence, this has to be gutting.

Nice panel, interesting discussion. We also have a letter from one of the Ladies in Waiting. When my daughter was around 5, in 1995, she was an early reader/writer, she asked me "How do some women get to be Queen?", and I said "why don't you write and ask her?" And so she did. I really wish I had kept a copy, because it was a letter, accompanied by a colourful drawing of a sort of early Greek looking Queen, a bit like an goddess figurine. In due course came to us in Calgary, all the way from London, an impressive envelope from the Palace.
Addressed to my daughter was a really nice letter from a Lady in Waiting saying "Her Majesty has commanded me to write to you ....." and along with it was a brochure about Corgis, and other features of the Palace. We've still got it, tucked away somewhere, envelope and all.

Really enjoying the photo galleries... today's was quite touching, all those photos of her abroad and with the Duke of Edinburgh by her side. I'm also getting tired of hearing of H&M. Meghan, in particular, is getting more coverage than she deserves. Let's focus on the genuine royals, including some of the other family members who treasured and had a close relationship with The Queen.

Whenever pro-"duchess of s" guests are interviewed and discuss the upcoming book, they need to be confronted with the *well-documented photo evidence of those hidden body microphones.* Every time those two are around family members they should have to sign non-disclosure agreements and pass an electronic device which alerts if they are bugged. If they set off the alarm then they should be sent away. No one should be subjected to those two sharing any conversation at any time.
Ditto for the Duke.

Up until a couple days ago, I thought the Queen was the reason the Harkles got away with so much horrendous behavior….. Now I know it’s Charles. Compare the Harkle appropriate and non senior Royal treatment during the Jubilee when the Queen was in charge to everything that has happened since her death. They are now getting the same treatment as the Senior royals and Charles has announced the Prince Archie and Princess Lillibet titles. Disgusted!
Take heart that in 🇺🇸, Prince and Princess are pet names for our 4 legged friends like my neighbor’s cocker spaniel, Princess. Then there was Jackie O’s sister who was sniggered at behind her back as she insisted on being called Princess Lee Radziwill, even after her divorce from her exiled Polish prince. It’s a joke. They will be teased in school most assuredly. Poor children.
The King has not announced that they will be a prince and princess. The law as it stands means that the grandchildren of the Sovereign through the male line are automatically styled HRH but this has not been gazetted, so they are not allowed to use those styles - just as Harry isn't.
The King will not be tough on those two
The people are just starting to accept King Charles and his Queen Consort - these days of mourning are doing much toward that goal. If he has ONE WAY to RUIN his acceptance, it is to include these two backbiting vipers in ANY official role. This is not the same as Camilla - whatever people thought of her, she is always loyal and dignified.
That's not so. Nothing official will be announced until after the official period of mourning. But I think he will be going for the soft route of turning the other cheek and giving them the titles. Forgiveness is fine in theory, but it has to be a two-way street. They have done plenty they need to be forgiven for but will never show any remorse. They will take what's given because they think they are right and better than anybody else.
