I'd like to hear the panels thoughts on Queen Margrethe's decision to strip titles from her grandchildren. Is this something the panel think King Charles will emulate? I do hope so. I applaud Queen Margarethe and believe her actions will only strengthen the Danish monarchy. I'd like to see the same model here with only the Prince and Princess of Wales' children awarded titles and going forward only George's children then being granted titles

I recall the decades when she faithfully beavered away at her charity work, quietly raised her children and never seemed to get any positive feedback. Finally, people have awakened to her years of sterling work and positive impact on the UK as well as internationally through Save the Children.

Willy has the same disease as his father. Jealousy and upset of the attention his brother and his brother's wife receive everywhere they go. Every since Harry and Meghan's first Royal tour when everywhere they went the crowds was huge and the people loved them and soon as they came back home the smear campaign began. Who do you think started those smears and lies about Meghan? Yeah right his dear brother and sister n law and everyone knew exactly where the hate was coming from and they kept it up trying to run Meghan off of that island but they got the shock of their lives because Harry took his wife and son and that let them have that island and tax payer money and Meghan and Harry went where she and her son could be safe.

We're now in primarily a video age; all major royal ceremonial events have been filmed and photographed, usually broadcast on television, for the past 70 years. My point is, if they don't have a ceremony at all, there will be _nothing,_ not even a photo on a postcard. That nothingness is not complimentary to Wales and denigrates the position of PoW. Charles needs to think this through.

I would like you to know that H & M are not universally popular in the United States, as you sometimes imply. I think people forget how big and diverse this country is ... and, many of us are huge fans of the British Royal Family and of Britain, overall. We are a relatively young nation, only 250 years old, and a huge portion of the country has at least one great-grandparent who came from either England, Wales, Ireland or Scotland. Our culture is largely built around the idea that hard work, education and innovation should and can cause you to be as rich and famous as you want to be. This includes celebrities in Hollywood, who often toil for 10 long years or more to finally become an A-list star in a hit movie or mainstream television show that is actually aired in this country. Fame or riches in return for personal effort or sacrifice is almost always rewarded here. What many don't appreciate is when one seeks fame but has done none of the above ... never worked for and achieved incredible success in your field of study, never put in 10-15 years of hard work devoted to the public good, as Princess Diana did, and has no credible experience with working and earning their own way to buy their own $14 million mansion. Harry & Meghan appear to seek fame for fame's sake -- they have yet to tell us why we should reward them with fame. They signed up to do charity work with the BRF and then quit after a few months. They accepted money from Prince Charles and houses from the Queen, but are not willing to do the hard work in a non-political way, as they signed up to do for the family business. They say they want privacy but then can't understand why people see their actions as hypocritical when they loudly seek fame/fortune by slandering their family to get it. Finally, if they cared about climate change, as I think we all should, they would donate some of their money to causes that are doing more than lecturing middle class folks about their carbon footprint when many people's only carbon footprint results from driving to work. A large swath of Americans never acquire a passport, many never travel to another continent, so they can't appreciate being lectured to by a couple whose primary mode of travel is by fancy car, paid drivers and private jets. It doesn't take much to be popular in the US, but an ounce of humility, consistency and charity toward your own family and friends does seem to be a prerequisite. Oprah is one person. Gayle King is one person. There are 300 million other Americans who have their own ideas about people who appear to seek fame purely for selfish reasons. Don't forget about those persons when you talk about people in the US.

@@edturner3615 No it is not. They are entitled to them if the monarch offers them and they have to be born of the mother. Surrogacy hasn't been available/acknowledged until recent years so that, if proven, could also be a problem. Prince Charles spoke about reducing the monarchy 30-40 years ago, alm he has to do is decide where he draws the line and issue letters patent, just as the Queen did to discontinue the centuries old custom of primogeniture. Charles may well be in the situation where the government could strip the Sussexes of their Dukedom titles, I believe it is before the government now and may be acted on before Christmas, so he ends up with two non working Royals whose children have titles. I believe he may adopt the course, that except for the children of the heir to the throne all other royal issue will not be given titles unless they become working royals. Lady Louise Wessex is a prime example. Lady until the age of 18,when the choice is hers whether to remain Lady Louise for as long as she likes or adopt the option of Princess as a working royal. If the Sussex children have the work ethic of their parents and similar disloyalty traits, I doubt if they will offered titles when they become of legal age. Then I would expect every working royal to do a minimum number of engagements a month to qualify as a working royal. Popping back from California for a couple of charity speeches 3 times a year will count for zilch, getting paid for said appearances will not qualify and there will be a cap on the wardrobe expenses.

Disgusting. Why did she do that? Why making a joke of a child. I compare her with Scobie and Gayle King, the mouthpieces of the Sussex clan. Same caliber, and that is not a compliment. Kate Nicholl was always more a Sussex than a Wales fan in my opinion.

It wasn't jealousy but rightly being put out. They bent over backwards for Meghan - trip with the Queen, Christmas before marriage, protection while dating when Meghan was calling the paparazzi. Etc. He's protective of Catherine & his children & they weren't being stood up for.

I don't understand how so many people fail to see the mental illness aspect of Harry's relationships. It is very sad that he campaigns for mental health but is ashamed of his own. I think William is aware, and is sad for his brother. William is also mature enough to handle it in a caring, compassionate manner.

I agree. As I've commented elsewhere, they could have a half-hour ceremony at the castle in Wales, followed by a reception. It would cost far less than a garden party at BP. Becoming Prince of Wales is a much bigger deal than a promotion at the office, and should be celebrated somehow. The price is not just for now, but to uphold this step in the tradition so as to be sure to pass it on to future generations. It's the continuity, the sense of being connected to so many earlier generations (and possibly those to come) that is an invaluable aspect of the monarchy.

Question: If an heir apparent is underage then a regent or regents are authorized to stand in the heir's place. We know that. But what if an heir is mentally incompetent or *has committed treason.* As with Charles 1, who was found guilty of treason, an heir who is equally guilty of treason (betrayal, disloyalty, deception, insurrection, fraud, white collar crimes, etc. -- all treason is against the Crown), can this heir remain in the line of succession? We know of one who has fled the country then publicly committed treason and slander, in TV interviews, and all done for personal enrichment, to become "financially independent". Again, *how can this treasonous person remain in the line of succession?*

Their children can’t possibly be titled. Harry and Meghan’s children are being raised as Americans in the USA which is of course a republic, their parents having already chosen to opt out of being working Royals preferring to be LA based celebrities. H and M not only continuously and shamelessly exploit their Royal connections for profit, they also break the rules set in law that all Royals must abide by and publicly support their favourite (Democrat) politicians, openly criticising and condemning (Republican) politicians they dislike. This is not merely a private family matter between a man and his feckless son, King Charles has to put duty to the Crown and the British people first and order them to live and work as and where they wish but without any titles.

I do not believe one word from Katie's book. The inclusion of a comment made by P George a very young child is abhorrent. My heart goes to Prince William this constant dissection of his relationship with his wayward brother. Where is the evidence of the sources ? I hope there is a truly wonderful celebration for The Prince of Wales. It's part of our culture these rituals.
