    There is no chance in hell that any other drummer is even close to this man. I've seen him live and it is mind boggling what he can do. He isn't human, by far the greatest to ever sit behind a drum set and no one can argue with that. The technicality he plays with is something that is indescribable. And he makes it seem so easy, thats the part that I dont understand haha.

      Really?? Have you seen Buddy Rich drumming? Nobody compares to that. You think Danny Carry (awesome respect for him btw) is fast and technical (he is)....you haven't seen Buddy Rich. He's a jazz drummer btw if you're not familiar with him. This is a well known vid him doing a drum battle: th-cam.com/video/VJh9W3Gcpmo/w-d-xo.html he's past his prime here btw and notice how he holds the sticks. Most drummer today can't drum like that.

      @@flybeep1661 though he is a great drummer, a pioneer I might say, I really hate his attitide, seriously hate that man. Every interview I watched he is so full of himself and always gives hate comment to other people he don't like.
      BTW now there are a lot of drummers who is wayyy better than Buddy Rich - like Dave Weckl, Steve Smith, Jojo Mayer, Gavin Harrison, Chris Coleman, Tony Williams, Steve Gadd, Carter Beauford, Mark Guliana, Gary Novak, Gavin Harrison, Joe Morello, Vinnie Colaiuta, Vigil Donati, Marco Minnermann and also Danny Carey. They are all prog, jazz or fusion drummers and they all could seriously give Buddy Rich a run for his money. Buddy is only remembered because, as I have said, he was a pioneer

    • @sidwangkhem5784
      @sidwangkhem5784 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Henrydingus01123 ummm Gavin's more on the free, smooth, inivative type of drummer, being rarely aggressive. And from a lot of interviews I have watched, he like musicality over technicality. BTW both are different types of drummers. If you want that into your face, aggressive, weird polyrhythms sounds with a lot of punch then Danny Carey is the answer. If you like that smooth, relaxing feel with a peace of mind then Gavin is the answer. But both have something very much in common- they both are musical drummers. Danny uses a lot of tom patterns for the musicality while Gavin uses his hi hat, cymbals and snare, as I have listened to his work on Pineapple theaf.

    think about this, drummers out there.. jimmy page said something holistic, that john bonham was great cause of the fact that he had a 'vision' for the drums... a vision is something associated by the guitar, piano, vocal ie the melody. most drummers dont see rythem as melody, they dont see themselves as painters, they only see themselves as far as a canvas. yet rythm can be insanely dimensional. it sometimes says things 'about' melody, causing melody to then ponder deeper on its own existance.

    Danny's mastery over polyrhythms is simply incredible. He blows almost all other drummers out of the water in this respect. You can hear just how many rhythmic patterns he has going on at the beginning of this, one in each hand and I believe he may even have one per leg too (one in the high hat And one in the bass drum). I know professional musicians who would struggle doing 2 effectively at the same time, let alone even 3, but 4. THAT takes some serious skill! Then the addition of extra triplets on the beats as he transitions to that solo fill 🤯

    love this guy. He took his amazing intellect of the science of math and fused it with his musical training. If you watch some of his drum playing he simple separates his left and right arm to different time signatures. Kind of crazy that he can't be so disconnected yet right on time every time without messing up. Dude said on 10,000 days he plays and drums in a certain way to conjure up demons. He's into the occult so who knows. Either way, killer drummer.

    Just unreal how incredible he is. It's an incredible inspiration to see what's possible on your instrument. Great job with the video by the way, the camera effects are simple, but fitting. It's so hard for a lot of drummers to do what he does, and to top it off, his high hat (which moves up when his foot goes down) requires any other player to think opposite of him. It's just ridiculous how precise and perfect his playing is. One of the greatest ever.
