The Beat Tour hit Toronto last night to great success. Former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin joined forces with guitar virtuoso Steve Vai and the incredible drummer for the progressive metal band Tool, Danny Carey, to form BEAT, who performed a creative reinterpretation of the three iconic 80s King Crimson albums - Discipline, Beat, and Three Of A Perfect Pair. I never thought I'd actually hear those songs live...this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for sure.
FYI, I always try to take these vids in a way that does not distract the people around me. If I'm in a spot where this is not possible, then I refrain from filming. These are strictly for the purpose of preserving a few memories for myself and they are (obviously) not professionally done. If any artist would prefer me to take a video down, let me know (you can dm me on Instagram: @thevinylvagabond) and I will do so immediately.
I do not, and will NEVER monetize this channel. Support the artists.
Had to check out this video to see if I still like them. I DO!
@@benkelly7182 Hahaha, awesome!
@@benkelly7182 "I LIKE IT!"
You did….😂
I wish l was there to see it!
@@michaelg6641 I saw them in Reading, PA. Adrian, the band, the whole crowd, WE ALL STILL LIKED IT!!!
WE DID!!!
this may have been my favourite song of the night. What a show.
How Tony Levin managed to keep his part going while Danny Carey was being 'indisciplined', wow! A uniquely brilliant group of musicians.
Click track 😉
New Danny fan here, the man's on fire here.
If i may Volto album "Incitare" Danny's band rock- jazz-fusion
TOOL .....youre welcome
@@aiwass84 good call
This is starting to sound like they're having fun now all the hard work of gelling as a unit has been done over the last few weeks of touring. Great stuff :)
I was at the show and you're right. They're having fun. I saw video of the very first show and they were all very tight.
Fripp, Belew, Bruford, Levin what fabulous KC combo it was. One of the best with Fripp, Bruford, Cross, Muir, Wetton. I'd love to see them in France.
Oui je dis oui
Going in December in Albuquerque at Revel. Will take my 14 year old son to his FIRST CONCERT EVER. I think he can honestly say this is not to be duplicated on any level whatsoever. So stoked. They really do the 80's material justice. Steve Vai really tears up Robert Fripps parts. He is no machine, he adds some SOUL to it. I don't know if I can say this is BETTER, but is sure is DAMN GOOD.
Yes he's def doing some cool improvising if you know the original..and l never really knew between the 2 guitars until now you can see it..well 3 really with Tony's stick
And of course what a great unique first concert for your son.. your cool factor is gonna go thru the roof!
This is glorious. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely phenomenal concert!
Monsterpiece.
What an amazing show this was. This song was definitely a highlight.
Belew edging 2700 ppl was FKN AMAZING!!!
Hahaha. Perfect description!
@@MrJesseeckerlin Right? When he ran at the mic and I actually heard "nah," it was epic.
I was there...he speaks the truth
@@tonycosoletto2108 hahaha. Right?
Such a pleasure to see this omg awesome.
Words?? Words?? Where are my words?? I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat...
As I follow the tour, this song, Indiscipline, is the first I look for. Adrian's faked mistakes are hillarious, and the audience knows the words and gets the message. As well, Danny's solos are great; all of them mess around each time, improvising here and there; everybody is having a good time. "I wish I was there to see it.".
I was there to see it. Last night. I saw them twice in the 80’s. They did not disappoint!
Phenomenal performance
SOoooooo..... well performed! Consummate musicianship / Consummate entertainment!! Thank you!!
completly badass! I saw King Crimson in like 83 0r 84 in Mpls... They were blow away good. This is amazing!
Great video, amazing work all around! Thank you 🙏 for sharing. 😊
I wish I was there to see it!
Thank you so much for preserving this memory and letting me go our of my head not worrying about a moving camera.
Saw these guys last night at The Palace Theatre in Greensburg. This song was a highlight among multiple other highlights. Incredible show.
Brilliant!!! Had the pleasure of meeting Mr Levin at a Gabriel show on his last tour. A genuinely humble nice guy.
He really is. I also had the privilege of meeting him when he played in a tiny club in Toronto (The Baby G, capacity: 145) as part of a jazz quartet with his brother. Kindest gent in the world!
@@thevinylvagabond my neighbor goes to a band camp in the Adirondacks that Belew and Levin do in the summer. Says they’re both good people. Someone’s posted some videos from there.
Great visual and sound...better than row F on the floor. And Tony's ability to double duty the 5/8 with one hand and the syncopated 4/4 with the other has always amazed me. 👏
The song is in 12/8 which for me makes it more amazing.
Man these guys are just killing it I really wish Robert would have showed up to one of these shows even just to watch it would have been cool
Saw in Rochester last night. Whole show was spellbinding!
Did you see that Adrian dropped something... his slide fell off his guitar? He looks at Vai and Steve points up to God
Fabuleux
WOW!
Fantastyczny materiał ❤
Danny Carey ftw
Ultimately painful only because I found out they played a MILE from my house a few couple ago, had no idea, I completely blew it!!! I coulda walked down and sat out back on the steps, don't even need tickets to hear it.....oooops!
couple weeks ago
I'd say Adrian and Tony have become King Crimson. (with of course Steve and Danny).
How funny was Adrian's "I did"!
Did you capture Sheltering Sky? Vai's solo was great
@@MikeFrame It was incredible but unfortunately, I was just taking in that moment with my phone in my pocket 😊
Ya he really brought the house down with that solo
