on youtube are reallly some thinking, that ullrich would be better... ullrich was not half as good as danny in his prime time and that time is 20 years ago, but danny is with 58 as good as with 20... the octopus is a living legend..
Legend has it that Danny Carey made a deal with the Devil. No one is quite sure what the exact terms of the deal were, but the Devil got drum lessons.
Very good man... you must be a blues fan....

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. 🤷♀️
I mean, the "33" is enough for me to know all is not what it seems...it absolutely fucking sucks too...I'd love to believe Tool isn't part of the Hollywood elite.
If tool had a competent drummer they would be a great band.
Danny Carey behind the kit makes them a legendary band.
He plays with powerful, precise and complex drumming to weave all the instruments together and perfectly accentuate the quality, timing and intensity of the riffs. He also fills the space while simultaneously leaving space for the music to breathe, all the while never coming off like a showboat drummer who adds superfluous and distracting fills.
Danny low key Careys the entire band
Confirmed: Danny Carey has a separate brain in each limb.

Can you imagine just missing a single note?....I cannot fathom coming back in

Doesn't matter which broswer you use, there's an add-on that blocks ALL youtube ads, and youtube simply cannot keep up with their progress. You MIGHT go a day or two getting ads, but just wait, and the add-on will update, then no more ads for another year or so. It's a battle that youtube basically gave up one.
As frustrating as ads are (I’m with you), it costs to run an app like YT; and, because the YT owners aren’t running YT as a charity, they want to profit as well; rightfully so. Just like TOOL charging for tickets to their shows to cover expenses, salaries for the band and crew, management, booking agents, insurance, etc...and for the performers to earn a profit as well. Likewise, for YT owners to earn a profit, it comes from advertisers/ads. YT isn’t simply a platform to run endless videos for free. YT also offers a no-ad option for $ if the ads are really bothersome. I’ve been tempted sometimes because of the geniuses at YT dropping ads at the worst possible time…which is, ironically, the best time for the advertiser.
Like we learned in college macro-economics…no such thing as a free lunch.

It seems we had similar schedules so I saw him their often. I am a guitar player and a huge tool fan but I didn’t recognize him. He even wore the Carey jersey and I didn’t put two and two together, I thought he was in to sports and I don’t follow sports. No body guards or attitude just a down to earth human.

Tool played at the Bomb Factory in Dallas (1993?). Undertow had just come out. My friend and I didn't have tickets but had to go. We dropped 6 hits of Felix the Cat each and rolled out. We were standing out back trying to rush in the back door while the Flaming Lips were playing (openers). The big ass Samoan bouncer guy knew what we were up to but we were so lit that we kept trying. Each time he would shut us down. Finally I asked my friend if the tour bus back there was Tool's. He said let's find out and proceeds to walk up and go inside. He was in there for less than 10 seconds (it seemed anyways) and comes back out. I asked him if it was Tool in there and he said yes. I asked what did they say. He said "get the fuck out!". Just then the bus door opens and everyone starts unloading and walking into the back door. We were dumbfounded watching. The last guy coming off walks past me and I stopped him. I said dude we got to get in there to see Tool. He said "you got a ticket?". I said fuck no but we gotta see em. He said hold on. He went in and came back out a moment later with the bouncer and flagged us to come on in. Fuckin crazy. We followed the dude all the way up to the stage until security made us stop. I agree with you all, Danny is the kind of guy that deserves this type of compliments. Super skilled, super creative, incredible person. 🤟🏻 It just makes me feel thankful to be alive, not only him, there are some high level humans around in their prime and they just inspire so much stuff in you.
Peace people. 👊🏻
@@javiercisternasnajle brother, best follow up comment iv ever heard! 2000% agreed
It’s so hard to play this, but it’s otherworldly to write it. This man is literally the Renaissance of drumming
Years in the making man, Years.
You can thank Neil Peart for this. He was what drove Danny Carry to play as he does.
@@TheWrestlingFamily Danny Carey is probably the only guy who can fill Peart's shoes.
@@MrZuul25 I agree, also if Rush ever tours again(I doubt it) they know who to call.
i witnessed neil peart live 4 times, god bless him. But this is just something else.
6:16 - 8:54 ... Two and a half minutes straight of a 3/4 polyrhythm by a single person... I mean sure, you can get into the rhythm of it after a while... but then to move the polyrhythm around the drum set? Then come out of the polyrhythm with no issue!? AMD should sponsor him, cuz that's some multi-core processing!
😂😂😂😂
you made me lought so hard dude !!
Dat Enochian Magick
Fucking amazing!
Unexpected finale. 👌🏼
I never get tired of watching this, the dozens of times I've seen it.
Guys, this is first real official playthrough from Danny, let alone Tool, in FOREVER.
Since like.. 2005?? When did all those potato quality drum cam videos come out? Pre youtube, right?
Maynard has finally removed the stick from his ass on digital distribution of Tool content. Hopefully we can see more things like this now.
@@BrianFromBoise The non digital distribution thing wasn't Maynard's idea. He wouldn't say whose idea it was, but he implied it was a bandmate. Joe Rogan podcast.
Cody Romaine 2002 are the crap quality videos. And 2012 had some good quality clips. That’s about it until now
@@MaynardsSpaceship Well, I stand corrected. I suppose I should stop listening to rumors. Unfortunately, that's usually all we have to go off on the subject of Tool.
This is probably pretty crazy to people who don't play drums. But to people who practice and understand how difficult drumming like this really is, this is inhuman. Especially because Carey is just so calm, like he's barely even trying.
there just are people who can truely master something, when they do, they have most probably mastered other things aswell
I believe that in this case it is so and this MAN can truely be caled a man and you might be true in calling him sir, not out of obligation or fear, but out of respect.
@@TheNonplayer I was taught to treat ALL my elders and introductions with respect until they proved unworthy. When other descriptors fail, the person who is unfailing in their good manners will be remembered for that if nothing else.
But Mr. Carey would know instantly by the look on my big, dumb drummer face what my fandom is about, lol.
@@TheCenteroftheUniverse I get what you're saying, but this man (as you well know) is just a bonus, a big bonus to humankind
You can tell he is "in the zone" My husband is a musician. Look at Danny's eyes, when he is in full swing.
Passion x brains x practice
3 reasons why you won't sound like Danny Carey:
1. You don't have Danny Carey's left hand.
2. You don't have Danny Carey's right hand.
3. You're not Danny Carey.
you forgot his feet

Adam is one lucky bastard....
Oh I see, I still have a chance wit muh legs then.
i mean we can try, if we fail its okay, but we should never give up
Where words fail, music speaks
Somehow in my 60 years, I’ve managed to never hear a Tool song until now. I’m gonna need to catch up. This drummer is incredible!
Oh ... you are in for a great journey!
Welcome, I'm 66 and been kickin it to Tool since the get-go. Check out A Perfect Circle and Pusicifer too, Maynard rocks.
Good luck and have fun😂 don’t let the fan base distract you from the music lol
Definitely listen to 46&2! And btw, Stinkfist is not about what a lot of people assume lol.
Also, you get a bonus if you've read Jung. Enjoy!
59, same!
This is the band we need to be sending records of into space for the extraterrestrials to listen to
We can't because then the extraterrestrials will know where the four that got away are hiding. Sssshhhh!!
Hello
@@alienne2518 Did you listen to this song Mr. Alien? Are you not amazed?
Bruh the extraterrestrials sent Tool here lol
I dunno... Because they'll be so impressed they'll come down to check us out. But find the world is infested with the likes of Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga.
I almost forgot to watch this today.
Almost forgot to watch for the 15th time today
Oh sick
Amazing song!
Shame on you!
It’s true 😂 it’s so freakin true 😂
I told my nephew about this band/guy today. I think we have a new fan. He's a drummer himself.
Rest of the band: What timing should this song be in?
Danny: Yes.
Original comment.
lmao!

Don't forget
Here's your reminder to watch this video again.
Watching again for the 50th time. I can’t even rub my belly and tap my head at the same time. Danny, you are a treasure.
I will absolutely never buy ANYTHING that interrupts me in the middle of a song.
Adblock. It’s 2020 bro. Use it.
@@SoloTravelerOffTheBeatenPath ublock Origin for the best results :)
What is best for the app ? Using iPhone , any suggestions ?
@@Not-a-bot222, not using iPhone, of course.
Alexey Polevoy thanks for reply, worth a shot because these ads kill me ha
Commercials in the middle of his performance is nothing short of sacrilege.
Really !? Damn .. mine came at the end 🙊🙈
If you dont have an ad-blocker/TH-cam Premium, scroll the video to a few seconds before it ends let it play out and hit replay and most of the time it will get rid of the ads altogether. If not then usually the ad plays before the video. I know this works on Android can't say if it works for other platforms, but hope I helped.
Just get Premium. It’s dope if you love/use YT a lot.
Fast forward to the end then hit replay no more commercials
get an addblocker. It will do the trick. Switch to Google chrome as a browser as well
I could watch the entire concert like this.
Just think...the whole concert was probably filmed and the rest of it is sitting on someones hard drive.
@@shawnl2772 what about the entire concert from Maynard pov? ahahah

Absolutely would
Gotta be a live dvd coming
Im 70, and im sure this is one if not the most complicated drum song ive ever heard 1st....and then to see this🥹 How on earth can Danny remember allof this and then to ALWAYS, ALWAYS with perfect meter.... Mr. Carey you are to drums like Buckethead is to the guitar......👍💙😊😎
“Two things are infinite: Danny Carey’s talent and the Universe. And I’m still not sure about the Universe.”

Awesome!
Universe isn't infinite. It will end one day.

Mike Hodges yeah after it “ends” there will just be nothing? That can’t be possible. Just another universe
