- Setback happen and I am pushing forward! Valve cover gaskets are replaced. The Air Oil Separator and Electronic Boost Controller are modified, AGAIN!

i'm glad you're sticking to it. as difficult and stressful as it is working on cars, just remember that they're just nuts and bolts

Lol, your project seems like mine. Always something new to change out. Seems like I’ve replaced everything. But, we never got the turbo cars new and I’d like a “like new” GC so I’m cool spending the cash. Just sucks the time it takes and always waiting or looking for something. And most stuff is end of life so need to find good used stuff. People think I’m a snob for wanting non scratched used parts. If I can’t get new I want to get perfect or near perfect used parts. Can’t want for spring so junk yard crawls aren’t so messy. Keep up the good work. I’ve got dupes on stuff if you need anything I don’t need anymore. Just be price of shipping to help out.
Thanks a ton! I don’t blame you it’s hard to pay for messed up used parts. But, when new parts are out of production it creates difficulty. People don’t seem to want to ‘help out’, if there is high demand they boost the prices 🤦♂️. You see what stainless sti side seal go for? Makes me sick! I’d love some clean door panels to get rid of my red leather ones. Not ez to find. Keep at it man, projects are never really complete!
@@RoadPatina there is a carbon fiber outfit that makes nice door sills. I’ve got a sedan and don’t think they made a STI stainless sills for mine. But yeah, used ones for 2k euros. Ridiculous. I’ve only seen some for sale in the UK that was the last price i saw this summer. I want a real 22b adjustable wing and a factory 22b wheel. I’ll have them but that comes after paint. That’s my next step on my car. I’ve already done all the maintenance stuff you just did before my motor went in. Keep up the good work.

@6:50, you are missing the crossmember plate that bolts below the steering rack. That's a jack point. Find one to put on so you can use it in the future to lift the whole front. Don't lift the whole front from the lower radiator support like you can on a Toyota/ Honda.
I had no idea that was missing! Thanks for all the help. Does it do damage lifting from the front tow hooks? I usually go further back behind the oil pan at the cross member.
I see, it looks like a jack pad and a T bracket I am missing. Great help 👏
@@RoadPatina i lift from the tow hooks too because my 99 impreza wag is lowered a bit. I drive my car on some 2x8 wood pieces to get a little extra lift before i jack my car up from the cross member.

Why you use 1/4" fittings instead of OEM 1/8" Fittings?
They control the presure fast and with less Air in them its faster. Sorry my english is bad, I'm german.
Chris Burkhardt your English is great! I can say two words in German. I was told to upgrade for the external wastegate. The vacuum hose would not fit on the ewg fitting and just barely over the turbo nipple. But I am not an expert! Just trying to get her running. What is your setup?
