Something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt. Some of the products featured in this video may be supplied by sponsors. For a list of our current sponsors please go to mightycarmods.com

Beautiful Video... Appreciate it
Would love to know what the ad revenue was on the video as profit
You should have put one Moog's "This" line in there among the other lines. 😄 That would have been a funny cheeky move.
*Slaps the top of the car roof box.*
This bad boy can hold so many skiis in it it's insane.
Honestly boys. This is the kind of content I'm here for. No matter how much profit or cost there is. It's just absolutely epic to see something that's relatively clapped like that go into the shop a little leaky. Transform and come out. In a condition, with a few mods, and much cleaner in a way that absolutely suits a daily for car people like us. That transformation I think is what brings this community together. Whether us our car, someone else's car,a car on TV even. It's very motivating to go out and work on my own car even.
Couldn't agree more
Seeing Benny walk by and grab the bumper is like seeing an old family friend. Warms my heart.
Still the best car channel on TH-cam all these years later. No bs, great production, great music & still keeping the content fresh
Some BS...
what I like aboutthem is that they are genuine down to earth people.
nah, they definitely aren't the best. Good, but not the best.
Whole show is BS
You mean the best 4x4 off road channel on youtube!!!
This has to be by FAR the longest Ive kept up with any channel. Love you Moog and Marty! The quality and genuineness of every video is amazing.
Thanks for letting us know, we’re enjoying making it!
9:24 Benny removing the bumper cover NEVER gets old! 😂😂
Ultimate callback for the OG fans haha
classic Benny. fkn luv it mate
Definitely a classic lol
I always love when he did this. Great to see Benny back too
Do you realize how many we've been watching these guys? It's amazing. It was the first channel I ever subscribed to, when subscribing to channels wasn't even a thing lmao! I think I sub'd when they had uploaded only 5 or 6 videos! :O
This wasn’t a money maker, but it was honest, real content that showed how to restore and upgrade an everyday car. You weren’t coy about it, or covering anything up. You were honest and upfront. I personally loved this episode and found it to be better content than a vast majority of the shit on TH-cam.
Just the fact you're saving it from the crusher and giving it some love and making it look nice... big win. Well done!
The honesty behind, "doesn't include labor" is so real. I appreciate that! You see on so many car shows where they restore a car and be like, "it was 15k to fix all this with paint, etc, etc.. and then they don't say they had four mechanics on it for two weeks each!
super cool. even when the profit is low you're still saving a car and helping the environment
Or helping people get a decent car, while sharpening your skills, profit is relative to what Marty, and the purchaser think.
@@angeloah more money helps though
@@tturi2 you’re not wrong.
@@tturi2 Sure the car didnt make them much its a loss with the amount of work hours on it. But thats where the youtube video comes in. That could make up the difference because they get content to post
Thank you for saving this lovely wagon from the scrap!
$4,900 is a good price, too, considering all the work you've done on it! - I got my Outback of the same generation for under AU$3000. It's a higher spec than this and is in great mechanical condition for the age and k's, but it's a bit ragged looking and has had some dodgy repair work done to it. The important thing though is that it runs great and while it did need an interior cleaning, it wasn't nearly gross as most used Subarus I see. I absolutely love it and I'm definitely going to keep it on the road as long as I can.
Yessssss! Wheeler dealer vibes!
Colour matched roofbox is such a great idea
He should totally wear a t-shirt over a long sleeve t-shirt😂
Now a 5 min bathroom break turned into a 30 min bathroom break
Forreal! I thought it was gonna be in and out😅
lol I felt that
Truer words have never been spoken
Yep
Yep stomach feeling crook all of a sudden, need a 26 minute bathroom break 😂
Marty’s skills are insane! Not only can he transform a car destined for the scrappers, but also the Levorg complete rebuild and engine swap! Mad respect ❤️
Keep these coming boys. Simple cars, quick fixes and mods...that's the MCM way
Back to the roots of fixing up cheap cars, love it!
Loving the push to reuse/refresh older cars! So many parts out there and a rewarding process.
Marty, let's do a few of these. These resto projects are pretty rad.
Great to see a wagon saved and back on the road.
I did a similar catch and release with a one owner 2005 WRX Hatch that had 438,000kms on the clock. Car was all original driveline with complete Subaru service history.
Picked it up for $5000 with a nasty clunk which was caused by a blown centre diff. Picked up a reconditioned centre diff from Peter at Corgiwerx, gave it a full timing belt service with new water pump, cam seals and crank seal. Daily drove it for a few months and then sold it for just under $10,000.
I love all the subaru content from over the years, it's part of the reason I own a subaru today.
I love these resto- flip videos and I'm glad you're making more.
Keep it up, this is great content!
I love these old N/A EJ20 Subarus, I had 98 Impreza wagon. It was really fun to drive and super reliable even after I thrashed it on dirt roads. Such underrated cars.
MightyCarMods, The GREENEST 4WD channel in all of youtube!
thanks for saving old clunkers!
I love this style of video. Its a great reminder that old cars that might otherwise head to the scrap yard are worth putting some effort into! without going overboard on expensive new parts, you turned junk into something quite decent that someone will absolutely enjoy!
The real reason I love Subarus is cause you can put 275,000 miles on one with proper routine maintenance. That's just impressive.
This stuff is like OG mighty car mods but in one episode. Its super inspirational. I have a old car now i just keep alive now i wanna make it real again
LETS GOOO. These all Subies need to be preserved more. Also good to see your back working on this generation that you used to all those years ago. You must save more old Subies!
i would recommend getting yourself one of those pop up tents to use as a spray booth
I'd also recommend they invest in an HVLP spray system, they greatly cut down on the amount of paint you put into the air instead of on the panels. Not stupidly expensive either, well within the MCM budget I should hope.
@@ferrumignis That is a HVLP gun being used. Sure it’s a copy of a much better one, but it’s still HVLP. For Acrylic Laquer it’s actually not the greatest gun for transfer efficiency & only good for the basecoat.
I will be honest with you. I repair every single problem, my car have in the next days or weeks.
Some people do not do this kind of maintenance, and when their cars get out of service, they start crying...
Do not let your car die. Repair it the soon is possible.
I really like this series. Putting your expertise to good use, rescuing nuggets from THE BIN, getting them looking and working good again, out on the road again. Very commendable.
Keep them coming boys!
Partly from my father, and probably partly from Marty, I have turned into a huge wagon nerd. I own an Outback myself, in my family we have had... a bunch of different wagons/SUVs.
Most were American models, but for me personally I have also added Subaru to my interest "bucket" and in my rotation.
This one turned out great, I especially like the color.
Now that you have the spray gun, maybe time to get some kind of pop-up spray booth for the SuperGarage?
It seems like you got this spray gun with more of this series in mind, and of course it can be used for any project, and is a good investment.
Not that I ever lost interest, but these newer videos have got me absolutely hooked, further proof after all these years of watching you lads that you're truly the OGs of shitbox reviving awesomeness ❤
Thanks for MANY years of entertainment guys!
really enjoying these types of videos showing the potential in affordable vehicles
Leave the EV’s at the dealership and save the environment by fixing an old nugget and using that! Way cheaper and the carbon footprint is already printed. You just keep going! Love this series.
Real down to earth attainable junkyard saver, the MCM way of saving "Super" Cars.
A labor of love!! Congrats to you and your team i feel like you when it comes to fix and save older cars . It just feels good to do it . Thanks!
Stellar!!! Nice presentation...nothing boring or repetitive..you have a great narration delivery. Glad to see the secret protocol of dedicated car lovers...I really got hooked on the adventure. Thanks!! Wishing you continued success on all your future ventures.
A video so good I get to watch it twice!
This is a great episode 2 for car flipping, as it shows that this isn't easy and things do go wrong.
I adore my 1st gen Legacy wagon. Happy to see a Subaru wagon back on the streets looking better than ever!
I usually don’t comment on videos but I’m loving these old school MCM feeling videos and the quick turnaround of putting cars back on the road, keep it up lads !
I love those old subaru wagons. Properly fun to drive, big enough to haul friends/pets/family. Also blue is the best color.
Great video MCM! You guys should continue this as a series and focus on restoring jdm legends
Nice one Marty! This is what many car guys dream about. Buying a cheap car with potential and just making it work on a budget. Although you are not making much money with this, Its great inspiration for people who want something on a low budget! And having a fun time with your mates!
I love these. It reminds me of good old wheeler dealers
Love the old cars! Profit vs. an experience? It’s all about the process, love the video.
Amazing transformation guys! Outdid yourself once again!
This gives me a throwback vibe to when I was a teen watching the DIY mods in the driveway! ❤
I have a 2001 Outback wagon, it's a fantastic car.
Slow as hell, but it still slides like a beast in the snow 🤘
I’m all for this. I’m 21, I’ve only ever owned one “new” car , I love buying cheap old cars they have so much more character
Budget builts are the best 👌
That’s my favorite gen outback/ legacy/ liberty/ grand wagon/ all the names you can throw at them! I love Marty’s commitment to keeping a nugget like this going. Thanks guys and cheers
Classic music when you intro'd the car and we got a Benny walking by taking the front bumper off! What year is it
I really like this new series of fixing up unloved rides. Hope to see more like it.
no one expects the glove box dong
I love these small projects. As cool as it is to see you guys get the chance to modify iconic Japanese cars etc. It's hard to beat some relatable content like budget builds and flipping cars.
Really enjoying this latest series!
Sometimes building the dream is more important then the profit. Another great video guys!!! Thank you for everything you do for the car community.
Mighty Car Flippers!
I haven't watched MCM for 3-4 years for personal reasons. This is the first video I've seen since and I'm amazed at hkw far the quality has come. The production is simply put professional and presentation is excelent. Keep up the good work, you're doing an amazing job.
Love this form of content so much. Love seeing still usable cars getting saved from scrap.
Good to see I can watch this after it got taken down the first time I got the notification. Love you guys so much. Always making the bad times better. Keep it up!
Love how you guys have went back to DIY and achievable videos!
Honestly, keeping a VERY affordable car on the road and giving someone transportation that they may need, or can actually enjoy living life with is well worth the investment if you have the know how and what not that MCM clearly has. Well done all around in my book. Wish more people were doing this, or where in the position to do this like you guys are. The world would for sure be a better place.
Really upping the Production quality with this one! Cool to see
Hey its back!
Just picked up a 2003 legacy 5 speed manual. Has 138K on it , one owner. Im not a mechanic so its in the shop now getting just about everything replaced underneath, inside is already Immaculate. Looking forward driving for sure!
“Budget” my internal wallet stopped at 2k
Under 5k is a pretty low budget nowadays for a modified car
@@yota8325*for any car.
Love the fix and flips guys. Gives me the same feels to OG MCM back in the driveway days where it was just make it work for cheap but still be as awesome as possible!
i'm loving this kind of content! Bringing cars back to glory
Annnnnnd its back 🙂
What a great video!!! Such a good transformation and one of the best car videos/channel i’ve seen in a while. Awesome work👍🏻
Even if its a re-upload stil love this type of videos.
Please keep them coming guys.
Thee joy u get out of doing something you love, money won't ever satisfy that feeling.
Keep it up. I just bought a cheap e46 330i and plan on doing the exact same thing u guys doing. Cheers
Wow, I learned how to put coilovers on my Golf 3 from you guys about 10 years ago, fun to see you havent changed a bit!
This is my favorite series in quite a while
Man the music in these videos is top notch, always love the soundtracks of MCM.
I love it!! I did almost the same thing 6 years ago with an 01 Outback I got for $500. It had a leaking water pump is all, also a bit of piston slap. Put $1k into it, mostly tires. Figured the piston slap would have sent it to scrap yard after a couple years. But I’m still driving it today as my daily beater! Ended up doing 2000 Impreza RS wheels, 215/70R16 AT tires, Baja Turbo springs for a lift and retrofitted the headlights. It’s been great!
Last time I was this early I was shooting out of my dad....
I love seeing content like this. It honestly makes me really sad to see this throwaway mentality that people have these days. New phone every year, new car every two years. Things can last a lifetime if they're properly maintained and taken care of. Glad to see that some people still will.
Love this series. Making great cars for people and entertaining content at the same time!
I love this. Really cool to see a car that had a full life and was sadly heading to the wreckers suddenly get a second chance! Great job! 😎
I'm liking this format Marty. More please.
Benny walking by and removing the bumper is such an iconic scene🤩
Such a cool idea to DIY a painted roofbox matching the car! This was a very cool episode 😊
Love videos like this, keep em coming please! They’re starting to inspire me to fix up my old sht box.
Love the honesty of these guys. One of the few good TH-cam channels still on earth.
Had a 2008 B4 Liberty sedan that ran and drove fine. It has two blown head gaskets and needed at least $9k in repairs to make it road worthy. This was late March 2024. Front and rear shocks blown. Torn CV boots. Leaking squealing gearbox. Door rubbers perished. Paint was perfect. If it was a wagon I would have kept it in a heartbeat
Awesome video.
I chipped away at a 2003 WRX for 9 months fixing just the fallout from a kinda crummy paintjob and managed to make $30 but it was a fun experience and memories, and of course sticking 3” straight through exhaust and BOV on a car 20 years after that was cool was great
Loving this series and the goal of saving cars that were almost lost to a scrap yard. Using secondhand parts and creative solutions to restore the car. Keep em coming!
Great to see you are rescuing cars in need !
May not have made a huge profit but im sure that could be someones attainable dream car out there that you rescued. Putting in the extra care, especially suspension, is worth more than profit. Idk how some people can sell garbage for so much
Love this car restoration / recycle series
I really like these videos. Feels like it's going back to the roots a bit and good to see some nuggets live on
With new cars costing so much & riddled with complicated electronics/tech...... it's good to see a good old car been refreshed & helping out the environment 👍
This is the kind of content that got me hooked 14+ years ago, we were just missing Moog and the workspace has improved drastically. If I'm honest I had been beginning to become less and less excited for MCM videos (specials excluded-they are MINT) last year or so. The builds and projects were becoming resource heavy and I couldn't relate. Although I still watch because it's like catching up with old mates and it's awesome to see how far you two have come. This return to a content matter more like OG MCM is very welcome by me and I'm sure a very fair amount of fans.
Ngl the buying used restore and flipping concept of content is a nice change of pace, refreshing even good work
Definitely enjoying these rescue/flip episodes.
Love seeing the honesty in a build video like this, and especially for viewers who are searching for a bargain or their first car - I was once that viewer, many many builds ago - this is inspiring!
Loved to see this. I bought my first Subaru this spring, and I blame Marty. Got a little work to do on it, but seeing this makes it all seem much less intimidating. Thanks Marty!
Bought a 2000 Outback Legacy recently with 200 000km. Spent around 3200€ on it so far. CarPlay+speakers, paint/rust job, cam-belt, breaks and a lot of cleaning and polishing. Now it’s fresh and runs silky-smooth. Im keeping it. Its a gem. 💎
