  • I was forced into purchasing a new uppipe for the GC8 build. I compare the old and new uppipe explaining why it had to be replaced.

    Was buying a new uppipe better than rebuilding the old uppipe? Watch the complete build series th-cam.com/play/PLmCz8Lio03_mhIcErCZW7AlOO4wEysrpQ.html

    I’m happy I found your page man. I thought I was the only one that feel like they’re regressing every month. It’s motivating seeing someone else have difficulties with their swap

    The new gaskets on the heads and correct torque on the nuts will correct the flange distortion. Usually I have seen that distortion from the installer just hand tightening them.
    You are doing the right thing by taking the front apart while replacing the cooling system components.
    I literally had to rebuild, replace, or redo everything on my car. All the braided lines had to be replaced because they were leaking fuel and fluids through the braiding. It looked pretty though...
    I like the up pipe by the way.

      Thanks! Now I have to send out the ewg. I took it apart and there is a bit of play that is concerning. Probably going to take a few more weeks, or bite the bullet and buy a new one?!

    trust me, you're way farther along than me. i basically just have a shell. as far as the videos, perhaps make a few 10+ minute videos consistently, instead of some real long video. maybe that way you'll start getting your youtube algorithm up. that's just me though. keep going. you'll eventually get there

      ziewknihtewza keep at it. It’s hard to stay motivated when all I find are expensive problems! Is 10 min the magic number? I never know if I should make the videos longer or shorter?! 🤷‍♂️

      That seems to be the magic number. 10-12 minutes, but of course you’ll have to post consistently.if they’re longer, then you can post 1-2 times a week like mcm and gears & gasoline, but i doubt u have their resources. It’s all a magic blend in the damn TH-cam algorithm. You’ll have to work to find a sweet spot and hopefully start making $ to work on the rsti and content

    The GS uppipe dia is fine. It'll help you with spoolup. We run the killerB header/uppipe @1.8" dia to 1000whp. The exhaust ports @6:40min in looks to be gasket matched. Most headers the flange does NOT have over sized openings for the primary pipes. Most run a diameter of 1.5" or so vs few (MAP header) running 1.75 inch. This is probably causing your flange to warp because the LIP of the flange is exposed into the exhaust port. This hinders flow and off boost driving/ throttle response.

      I don’t recall the diameter I wrote it all down somewhere. At this point the GS uppipe and running the same header was the most cost effective without spending $1k + on a new set up. The EWG may also need to be replaced but I sent it off to Tial for them to inspect and or repair. Thanks for all the help! Are you in SoCal?!

    That Subaru Super Blue Coolant is worth its weight in gold, literally, so expensive. On my Subaru I also went back to the rubber hoses, same thing coolant seeps through the silicone, more than you would anticipate. If you had the time and means to have the car off the road, possibly worth pulling the engine, going through it with a fine tooth comb, replacing everything looking sad in the one hit. Will save time in the long run.

      Sneaky Foz true story, I just ordered two gallons! I don’t need to drive it, but space is the problem. No room to pull it. I would love to pull the engine and inspect it. My guess, I’d find more bad news. Wait til I pull the timing cover 😳

    @devontrini 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The first thing you should do is drain the coolant and pull the radiator out of the car. You will have alot of space to remove the timing cover and find those oil leaks

      Devon Sahadeo my favorite is the coolant bath I will take!
