@@JayrosModShop NO SUPPORT for custom controller configurations AT ALL in this brand new Ui so i wont be updating at this stage as older versions of the emulator do support it.Also no support for multitap 4 player games. When these features are added i will update.
One thing i'd like is if they had a recommend settings for each game so everything at least works easily. That way if a game won't work with a setting or without you don't have to worry about it.
This is probably the single best new addition to PCSX2 in the last five years at-least. Being able to optimize each individual game without having to go back in and fiddle with the settings again while trying to remember where you had it for another game is a Godsend. The old UI would have been fine if there was an end-all be-all config for every game but there just isn't, and given the complexity of PS2 emulation there likely *never* would have been. Some games are *always* going to need to run in software mode or have some weird hacks or workarounds enabled to prevent graphical glitches no matter how hard the devs worked to improve overall accuracy, so a UI overhaul was crucial to say the least. The automatic update feature is also greatly-appreciated, and hopefully it minimizes the annoying video driver conflicts that would typically occur when unzipping the latest build into the same folder necessitating a full reinstall.

I couldn't believe this update would happen! It's totally awesome. Love the new interface, separate configurations for each game, and the auto-updates! It's so much easy to set this emulator up now. P.S. Also I like the network setup, too. You can easily alter the DNS address to play some PS2 games online with real PS2's (Including Metal Gear Online)

Per game settings seems great. It'd be great if they have the ability to export/import settings, that way someone could upload a settings file somewhere for a game with instructions. That was always my issue with PCSX2. Getting the game to run correctly.

This is indeed a huge upgrade to PCSX2. I have been waiting for per game settings ever since using Dolphin and RPCS3 as well as PSPSPP which all have per game user settings. The only way you could get per game settings in PCSX2 is to use a 3rd party tool.

Pcsx2 is turning out to be an amazing emulator. I didn't think we'd ever get Vulkan support with it. I run it through Batocera betas and it's been pretty much flawless.
I remember when pcsx2 dev refuse to use vulcan by saying they use nvidia cards. Which is qjkte funny because AMD making it open source so nvidia can ran it too
This is just fantastic and i am glad they finally decided to work on their UI a bit. I wanna add that I have massive respect for the devs of pcsx2 for pretty much spending their precious free time on working and improving this emulator almost every day but it always felt weird to me that you had to download third-party programs just to configure ur games separately and add cover arts, things we pretty much took for granted from other emulators.
I wonder, since this is a nightly beta build, if it will eventually update to the stable build when that becomes available with the built-in updater.... or if we will need to do a separate download for that...
Dude! If you're going to play PS2 games that have the option to turn off "interlaced" and turn on "progressive scan" like GT4 then you really should do it! It makes the game looks WAAAAY cleaner! In GT4 go into "options" then select "Screen" then select "video output" and change to "Progressive 480p". Trust me you will thank me for the advice! Because games like GT4 are defaulted to 480i, even when changing the "internal resolution" in PCSX2 to a high setting like 4K they will still look muddy. You have to manually change it in the game. Some games require you to change the setting in the "settings" menu on the PS2 boot screen though. GT4 luckily lets you do it in-game. You will know it worked when the OSD changes from "interlaced" to "progressive". Remember this too, after changing the setting and selecting "Yes" to the change, it will revert to "interlaced" but when you start your first race it will change back to "progressive" and then stay that way. The only caveat to this is that you may need to do it every time you re-start the game. Good Luck!
So, basically they finally added the Interface and Features from Duckstation! This is absolutely fantastic! Had to rely on Spectabis for a nicer Interface till now. This really nice work from the dev Team!! 😀
It's been going great until a recent update; in Tekken Tag Tournament, it's not going past the Namco logo on game start-up; it was fine before one of the updates. I tried finding info about it, but didn't find anything about it. So I'm on here as a way to mention about it & maybe it could be resolved.
Worth to mention : the AVX2 version is not compatible with Intel Core 3rd generation and below (the .exe doen't launch) because ASX2 is not physicaly on these processors.
The old interface was functional, but it already needed that change. It reminds me of DuckStation's UI and Project 64 KVE's. Perhaps it will improve in the future and resemble RPCS3 or Yuzu, dreaming is free. Something like that would also be needed for Xenia. With a Ryzen 1800X and an Nvidia GTX 1060 I play smoothly at 2K, 16X anisotropic and trilineal filtering.

I love the new layout. As people have said, it has the duckstation, dolphin simplicity to it. Amazing video, thanks dude! I would love it if could make a walkthrough video in the future explaining how to set up light gun games to Sinden light-gun. Now that we can do each game individually, I feel that would save a lot of people time and hassle
Auto updates is huge. Opens the possibility of the automatic patcher being updated more often (think right now you need to update the whole emulator?).
awesome, the old version always seemed like the emulation was a little bit off to me, but this version on Vulkan and it seems ok in GT3, will have to play GT4 more, and the interface much better.
I had per game settings with version 1.6.0 set up in LaunchBox by having each game launch a shortcut of the emulator with a command line pointing to different configuration folders for each game. REALLY wish this update was around about the time I was setting up PS2 emulation. Per game setting would’ve been really freakin handy...
The per-game settings is a godsend for newcomers of the emulator and also those who haven't figured out the old way of doing per-game settings. I'm gonna wait for a stable release.
I can't wait to see that and Vulkan in a stable release (I can't get ScpToolkit to work on the nightly releases and I need it for the pressure sensitive buttons on my DS3 to work).

Are your widescreen patches working for you? Or game patches (cheat) pnatch files?
Auto updates is huge. Opens the possibility of the automatic patcher being updated more often (think right now you need to update the whole emulator?).
awesome, the old version always seemed like the emulation was a little bit off to me, but this version on Vulkan and it seems ok in GT3, will have to play GT4 more, and the interface much better.
This is great news. Going to have to give this a try later today.
Man I thought you were going to say a new UI released for PS2. Had to reread the title. Back to the shadows I go
hi
the new qt interface is not compatible with window 7 to 8 you need to be running Windows 10 or 11
The per-game settings is a godsend for newcomers of the emulator and also those who haven't figured out the old way of doing per-game settings. I'm gonna wait for a stable release.
Only thing I can think of asking for would be auto box art/manual downloading.
A thing of beauty the emulator come a long way glad is getting better each time
I can't wait to see that and Vulkan in a stable release (I can't get ScpToolkit to work on the nightly releases and I need it for the pressure sensitive buttons on my DS3 to work).
What about the vibration of your xbox controller? Did it work in this nightly version?
Thank you for the video!!

I usually check on their website for updates but I wasn’t expecting this.
