Hey friends! We are currently doing a big hike in the Sierras :) New Hayduke videos this fall. Can’t wait to share the rest of the series - thank you for watching!
my gf and i are obsessed with these videos, you guys have such a natural way of storytelling and appreciating not only the landscape and adventure, but the history too. lots of love from spain !
These have been great fun! Thanks for sharing! Posted up on the couch after knee surgery, so these have been keeping the stoke alive. Hope to do this hike someday!
@@dirtyjarhikes The whole area was way less traveled in ‘98-‘99, it was a brand new National Monument. We saw nobody in Stephens, the Escalante or Fools Canyons and most everywhere else in the monument… only 2-3 people in Coyote.
Hey you guys! Love the videos, great to see how your hike went and your style of presentation. Look forward to seeing the final installments. Glad to have shared some trail time with you both. Cheers! TrailCrew
Hey! Hiking with you guys was one of the best parts about the hayduke. The Grand Canyon wouldn’t have been the same without you. We are editing the trail crew/uncle don parts now haha.
Getting ready to head out to Utah from New Zealand in a few weeks. Been so great watching this - enjoy the Sierras, pumped to see more of this when you drop part four!
Awww yes! That’s awesome, where you headed to in Utah? We recommend the pizza in Escalante haha. The sierras have been a mountain dream, about to head back out for more :)
"How the f**k is this easy walking?" LMAO! Loving this video series. I feel like this should be on TV--on the Discovery channel or some shit. Good stuff!
everytime i watch these videos i am inspired to get my ass off the couch and get back outside . can’t ever sit still for too long. y’all are an inspiration ! i hope to do a thru hike one day 🩵
We think about those switchbacks a lot, the views were awesome! Where do you like to go in Capitol Reef? we’re thinking about going back this fall and exploring more…
This is such a great video! Love watching Dirty and Jar do their thing! They made me laugh and it felt like you were there rooting them on! Gorgeous views. Can’t wait for Part 4!
I love it when I realize I've driven through many parts of where the Hayduke goes. For example Hanksville and the Burr Trail switchbacks. Maybe one day I will hike it too. Good job out there.
Hey, thanks! We wanna drive through southern again someday and revisit some of the places. Did you get a cheeseburger at the gas station in Hanksville?
You’re a smart man, Don! I was just telling Jarhead earlier today how you guys kicked our asses in the Grand Canyon, and then running into you again at Phantom Ranch was one of our favorite parts of the whole trail.
You two are my new internet hiking heroes. I'm also following Jupiter and followed Sara (Tidewalker), whom I met last year coming out of Coyote Gulch on the Hole-in-the-rock road. I love hiking the Escalante and desert southwest area, but long hikes like the Hayduke are out of my league at 75. I'm looking forward to your next chapters. Steve
@@dirtyjarhikes Yeah, I'd spent a couple days in Coyote and just hiked out and was getting a beer from the cooler in my car. That's when Sara walked out, so I offered her one and learned where she had hiked from. That kind of trekking is out of my league.
I actually got to play around in this area and we were always worrying about walking the slot canyons because there were pop up thunderstorms everywhere and apparently some folks had recently had to be rescued because of flash floods. It was early June last year. Loving the editing on this.
@@dirtyjarhikes I'm like you, it was my first time. We did Goblin Valley and stuff around Torrey and Capitol Reef. I want to do the Uinta Highline within the next few years but it will take some planning and altitude adjustment. I get my ass kicked when I get to 10,000 feet or more but do seem to adjust slightly.
@@paxtianodirtfrog8947 nice, goblin valley looks awesome. Definitely want to see it. We’re headed to the sierras to hike and nervous about the altitude too. We’ve been drinking lots of water haha
@@paxtianodirtfrog8947 the uintas are amazing! The long approach into the high country helps with the gradual acclimation. That sounds like an awesome trip :)
Honestly? Love ‘em. For someone who loses everything it’s nice to have them strapped around my neck all the time. Pro tip: when the moon was really full I’d wear them to bed and the “armlessness” was VERY comfortable.
Yo! Not dead yet. We are doing some big hikes in the sierras and haven’t had time to edit videos. We are planning to upload the last three hayduke episodes this fall, along with some gear videos, and lots of footage from the sierras. Thanks for watching :)

Good times in the mountains, tough times in the Escalante River ☠️. We’ve been having fun putting these videos out - Thanks for hanging out 🤠.

Lots of love back! Your handmade 30L backpack looks awesome btw.
I'm one of those old guys who wishes I could be there! Keep on trekking!👍🏽👊🏽
We will keep at it 👊 good luck on all your mountain ventures!
You guys are knocking it out of the park with this series!
We appreciate ya! ☺️
This is top notch quality content :) can’t wait to see part 4! And all the rest of the videos, on the Hayduke. 😍
u 2 r crazy awesome 😊

Absolutely! Hope your knee feels better soon. That’ll be such a great feeling to get back out there 🏔️🌱🙏
Love your series.
I can’t speak highly enough about Stephens Canyon. It changed my life back in ‘99
Stephens Arch was such a powerful place. What was your trip like in ‘99? Did you go through Coyote Gulch?

@capn_shawn that’s incredible. It felt like an eden back there. So cool you could experience it when you did.

Mountains therapy memories for life, love the story and the people ❤
Beautiful words 🫶

So. Many. Curses. The guidebook said it was easy walking for the first half mile, but we think it was sarcasm 💀

The Burr switchbacks and Muley Twist Canyon! Good stuff, y'all. I go to Capital Reef a bunch.

Hey! thanks that’s really nice of you. Currently driving out west for some more hiking and editing videos along the way!

Enjoying the videos! So fun to relive this trail. Might have to hike it again sometime??
Hey! That’s awesome because we really enjoyed watching your videos before the hayduke. They got us excited to hike!

Would have liked to have gone over the top of the Henrys; in '23 there was too much snow. Glad we took the high route instead of the Escalante.

@user-zj5hn8ze1m that’s very cool. A cooler of beer at the trailhead is pure magic haha
Thank you for sharing! This does put some things in perspective: I feel bad when I have to bushwack for a few hours... The scenery is really amazing.
The sheer amount of bushwhacking on the Escalante really tested us 😅 On a positive note, we had all the water in the world we could drink!
New fashion statement with the pants Dirty A. I guess the bushwhacking comes with a cost. You two are doing great! Love the vibe you give us!!
The pants didn’t stand a chance. Glad you’re enjoying the vibe!
I love these videos! Really well put together!
If these two holes merge, that is a much larger hole.
It was a rough estimate.

Escalante, maybe you will find Everette Russ
We thought we heard him chuckling at us from the canyon walls…
