My grandfather always carried what he called a dead man. It was a heavy steel bar who would drive into the ground as an anchor point for his winch. I have carried one for years, and luckily only had to use it once. Cheap insurance when there’s no trees.
Great video so far and I'm only 44 minutes in. I had to pause and comment when I saw your son smiling--a true heart warming moment. There is nothing happier than a smiling child nor as beautiful as a smiling woman. God Bless, be safe.
Well, THAT was 3 hours well spent. Your cinematography, drone footage and very well-chosen background music seduced me to settle down And enjoy your work for 3 hours. May your little son never lose his conspicuous exuberance for life.
At 9:50 the shot of the mountains in the background was fantastic, completely blew me away and I'm from Nevada. Using the word majestic for that view would be an understatement. Me again, at around 1:12:50 in the rocks so to speak, did you ever worry about those small sharp rocks sticking up I call them tire poppers. Nevada is famous for those little devils.
Y'all have onboard air... An air chuck would make short work of blowing all that dust off. Granted, it would just be airborne again. LOL, amazing work Rob. If there were YT awards, this one would be a top nominee.
@@RevereOverland I've always said, on the 8th day, God made air. And mechanics were happy. Lol, this is really good. Really digging how you've made it a feature film. Such incredible footage 😁
Hello from Norway. I would like to tell that you are making incredible videos that I rather would call movies with travel depictions in magnificent nature, incredibly good historical updates, the calm and good story teller, and the good editing of the movie. I shoud of course have been a patriot, but it's very long time since I could look at your movies and it's not often I'm able to follow your movies after I was disabled from the corona vaccine, but I would like to send my big thanks to you for this fantastic movie. Thanks.
This is by far the best channel on here. Well written, great focus on friends and families. The cinematography is on par with any of the big networks. Thank you!
man idk how you do it, but I just wanna thank you for sharing these videos and remind me to appreciate every day how fortunate I'm to live in this amazing country
I love that you take your little one out like that for the long trips, that must be a really exciting and a really awesome time, not to mention amazing family bonding time. You have great videos, and i love being able to watch them. The Overland community of YT'ers are the best, same as the community. Keep safe, and as always, great videos.
Sensational vids guys. I lived in PNW for 10 years in the 70s and 80s and you've seen more in one trip than I saw my entire time there! Thanks for sharing!
Regarding the dust on the rear of the vehicle. I’ve used an 18 volt blower for years now. Blowing off the tent or the rear of the truck, even the interior of the tent. My buddies would make fun of me. Now they all carry one. I also run a small air line off of the OBA system to blow the interior from time to time.
I just came across this channel this morning. It seems extremely informative and inspiring. Especially since I drive a 17 tundra. I haven't watched this video yet, but I'm about to go down to my living room and watch it on my tv. Thank you for the content.
Very, very nice. It was nice to see a variety of places and to have some others along with you for a change. It's also a very cool way to introduce a young person to nature. Well done!!!
Well done. The narration, storytelling, and cinematography in this video are top-notch! I've never been overlanding before but after watching this I definitely want to give it a go. God bless!
Hey y’all When you get to those barb wire fence gates!! The little wood pole that is hanging there with piece of wire on it , just stick it around the gate side post and pull or push with it then hook the top wire back over the post top !! Helps with the tension on the gate 👍👍
The piece of wood that is hanging down wired to the gate is how you tension the gate to put the wire loop over the post . You use it as a leaver it only takes one person to close the gate .
But don’t worry on a cattle property I worked on in Australia some university students actually undid all the wires drove through then reattached all the wires because they didn’t have the strength to open it .
Absolutely breathtaking country indeed. Im in South Africa Cape Town and it cant compare. Has anyone noticed at 1:41:31 the bear running away from the trucks?
I got AAA Plus membership since year 2000 and my wife joined to mine recently. It offers 100-mile free towing, and you need to be mostly on paved roads. Highly recommended for those who travel a lot or even dally commuters.
Another great video. Your narration and videography makes these so enjoyable to watch. Now, about the Jeep thing, I've owned a couple and although they were fun and great off road they were neither reliable nor rugged. Thats why I've been driving Toyotas for more than 3 decades. Thanks again for sharing.
To remind me of the one morning of all when I woke up in Monterey CA with sunshine and no fog. Ever after you could not see the beautiful landscape, so don't let me live there.
Really enjoyed watching the movie, but your son stole the show. He was so happy 😂. So Beautiful and Sad to see people are not cleaning up after themselves 😡
You have been blessed by god with a beautiful family and the means to enjoy this wonderful life. Continue your great work, of im ever out west man ill tag you. God bless my good man.
I am really enjoying your movie. I am sorry you encountered trash in my home state of Washington. The Olympic Peninsula is gorgeous and doesn’t need garbage strewn about. My favorite part was your Idaho journey as some of the roads are familiar in the Lemhi Mts. It is especially encouraging to see a Tundra as we have a Ford F250 and may attempt some of these roads like Horseheaven Pass. Do you have any gps coordinates or route info for us?
Oh my God, dust in back of your truck. My 40 foot diesel pusher was pretty dust free you might wanna try one of those😂 I’m just giving you a hard time I love the video great storytelling and time lapse photography, pretty cool ✌️
Overlanding tip of the decade....spend $15.00 on a full length shovel from Lowes or Home Depot to use when you really have to move some material. Besides moving over ten times the material compared to those cute little folding shovels for the same effort, it will protect your back to keep you from actually injuring yourself during an epic journey such as this. Beautifully done job on the cinematography!!
I have nowhere to put a full length shovel, but I did just get the Ironman 4x4 shovel. It's a little more expensive, but it's full size once assembled.
When you lower your tire pressures for rough terrain how much do you lower the pressure to?. Great movies and shows thank you very much for making these for us and other people that cannot possibly go to these beautiful places thanks again be safe
I am looking at outfitting my truck for doing mild overlanding, two or three day trips. 2wd f150, so nothing big. Any tips. I see the lava tunes and reminded of videos about cave exploring, in water and on land.
It looks like, but I'm not 100% sure, did you go check out the wynoochee basin while in the Olympics? At 2:04:11 - I think I know that exact spot! It is a super special area! There are a few hidden secrets there that are just amazing! It is a forest like nothing else! And some pretty amazing history.
We didn't, but we have friends in the area who will happily show us around! We didn't find many spots that were any more than pullouts on the side of the road.
Dude I’m from Louisville. Waiting on my Tacoma. Hopefully someday I can do what you did. Hopefully you can give me some Ideas on where to go here in Kentucky for beginner overlanding. Thank mate.

Nothing like the innocent smiles and laughter of a child.
3hr flight and a 3 hour video. Let’s get it
Perfect timing!
Foolish you could have watched it 10 times if you would have overlanded instead of flying 😂✌️
Well, THAT was 3 hours well spent. Your cinematography, drone footage and very well-chosen background music seduced me to settle down
And enjoy your work for 3 hours. May your little son never lose his conspicuous exuberance for life.
I love when you show the Milky Way beautiful photography as usual
Thanks! Those are some of my favorite time lapses to do
Yay‼️. THE HAPPIEST little boy. 😁✅️
Guys this was so high quality. Deserves Ms of views. Great trip and editing.
Thank you!

Great videos. The baby laughing is the sweetest part
Thank you for shooting this incredible movie. The views from Montana remind me of our cabin in the Madison Valley area. Absolutely adore Montana!
That was actually really entertaining!
I really appreciate you sharing the reality of overlanding - closed, blocked and flooded roads. Carry on!
Thanks! Not every trip goes to plan!
Slow mo sending. Yes!
Amazing videography, attractive couple, beautiful dog. Thanks for all the work you put in to this, and for sharing. Stunning.
Y'all have onboard air... An air chuck would make short work of blowing all that dust off. Granted, it would just be airborne again. LOL, amazing work Rob. If there were YT awards, this one would be a top nominee.
Thanks! I actually bought an air chuck when we got the filters!

I love the video and that you're having your wife and kid involved! I love going Offroad with my wife and two young boys (7&5)
It's so much more fun with the wife and kid!
Movie or video just amazing the scenes, signatography and the baby is so cute 😊
What a crazy year of exploring. Fantastic film. I especially enjoyed the shots of that Will guy and Idaho. Go figure.
He's ok, but only because he shared his Blanton's.
What a perfect end to a Thanksgiving weekend!
Yet another awesome video, thanks for sharing! Nice to see a family having fun outside.
Beautiful Scenes ! Thanks for all the footage you create in your movies. You have some great guests join you too.
Great watch from Ireland…. Waiting on our visa to return to oz another 4x4 paradise
Very cool!! What a great adventure!
Absolutely beautiful scenery
Currently driving a Hilux in Ireland looking forward to seeing the tundra in action ❤️
It was Heart warming to see you and you family on adventure. Baby picture so cute.
Absolutely insane production by you. Thank you for providing us with this incredible adventure.

The energy of shooting and editing is just wow, keep it up 👍
When I complete my truck I would live to follow you on these adventures. Incredible job
Another great overland movie. First one got 2 million views if I remember right. Hope you get that on this one.
I hope so!

1:46 area is some of the most epic scenery on any overland channel! Awesome job!
Watching Part 2 now and we’re truly enjoying the amazing drone shots and music. Also, thanks for including the historical facts. 🇺🇸🌵🐎
Awesome! Thank you!

I'm so glad I stumbled on to this video. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
Amazing work, really first-rate quality, narrative, production and editing. Wow. Great stuff.
The piece of wood that is hanging down wired to the gate is how you tension the gate to put the wire loop over the post . You use it as a leaver it only takes one person to close the gate .
That wood make life easier!
See what I did there?

Lost river range was my favorite
It was my favorite scenery, although we had most fun on the Mojave Road!
This is gonna be a good one!
I hope so… lol

Thanks! Toyota is definitely my favorite, even though our Jeep is far more capable off road.
Wow I'm a yr late on this movie but I'm so glad I watched it. This is now saved in my jeep movie library 😊

Ahh, nothing like the Nevada desert. Well, maybe the Mojave. So good. Lucky man.
Incredible video! Hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Did anyone see the Bear running up the hill at 1:41:31 ? Very cool seeing how connected to nature this channel is.

It depends on several factors, but usually I go to 15 psi for a rough maintained road like most the ones we were doing in this video.

Maybe I missed it, but what town/city did you all meet to start your trip?
Might I say, nice rigs and beautiful scenery!
We all met up in Salt Lake City and filled up gas in Tooele
Great video! Inspiring and motivating. Subscribed
Awesome😍
At the 1:41:33 time frame, there is a black bear running up the hill to the right of the road. Did anyone else see it?
It's a very quick glimpse that I didn't see for ages!
