I remember learning about the Appalachian Trail in elementary school and imagined how amazing it would be to hike it. My 2nd grade class took a field trip to see the part closest to us (Eastern PA) and we all were talking about how we were going to go back when we were older and walk the whole thing over the summer break. That ended much as expected, but there are always more grand adventures to learn about at that age.

Hey LH! I saw another small channel doing something I think is clever, I think you should do it too (if you want to and think it'll be helpful): right at the beginning of the video, put text on the screen that explains how comments help small channels with the algorithm, and ask viewers to comment something - like this story you could ask them to comment "spooky camping" or something. Or, since your viewers - myself included - enjoy your funny multiple choice posts, you could do one of those at the beginning for commenters as well, something along those lines. Just thought I'd pass it along since I thought it was clever, and since your audience seems pretty supportive and would likely respond well.
PS - I asked you in another comment awhile back but you didn't respond, maybe you didn't see it: can you see that I joined your Patrion? I just want to make sure I did it right.
    Cheers! 🤓

The first movement of Beethovens' moonlight sonata are often played here in the Coventry Diocese when they have a celebration of peace in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral ( destroyed by bombing in the 2nd world war). It's in the mountains, I was the only car in the parking lot, I'm about a mile in and I hear a baby crying. I tried to brush it off and went another half mile and hear it again. I couldn't quiet those alarm bells so I turned around and got the hell out of there. Maybe it was nothing but im sure glad I didn't find out.

"If you're ever alone in the woods and hear the sound of a baby crying at night... make sure it's really a baby..."
Um... nope, nah no way, and maybe even a bit of hell no!
I don't mean to sound like a bad guy or even a douche, but if I'm ever ALONE in the woods, and suddenly I hear a baby start crying, I'm gonna first start off with the assumption that if I can hear a baby crying, there's no way a normal human baby got out here on it's own. So there is either a family camping somewhere nearby that is with that baby, in which case it doesn't need me to check on it. Next, I'm going to make sure I have plenty of firewood to keep the fire going all night, and then do everything in my power to stay awake and vigilant the entire night. Next, quickly pack my backpack with any and all essentials that I would need should I suddenly need to bail and make a quick escape. Finally, I'll take note of my current location just in case when I get out of the woods and back to civilization, I find out that some family's child disappeared around the same time that I started hearing the baby. That way I could at the very least inform the park rangers or search and rescue of what I heard and where.
Theres no freakin' way I would go wondering off into the woods in search of some baby at night. I've listened to too many of these stories and have listened to too many Missing 411 cases to do something that dumb when faced with that kind of situation...

If that critter went to ALL that effort..following him back from the woods..avoiding being seen by who knows how many city people, & then waited for him to be asleep, and THEN "comes in"..it makes its move, clearly has the upper hand after flipping the guy like..a pancake, pinning home to the ground..completely helpless..TASTES him..& then..hauls ass, & jumps THROUGH a glass window. to LEAVE..Maybe he.forgot to...shower, after returning from his lil adventure.
Maybe..it IS over...because, I really don't think, any..one, OR any..THING, would go to THAT much trouble.in pursuit of "num-nums"...but once they FIND'em...after ONE Lil "taste" ..go jumping THROUGH a window to get AWAY from what theyd worked so hard..travelled so FAR, to get.

I never understood why some men get this urge to play "mountain man", and are willing to risk their lives over it. Our ancestors came in out of the wilderness and built cities, basically because the wilderness is hard and dangerous and wants you dead. So you are all alone out in an isolated wilderness, you get sick or hurt----you are almost certainly going to die. And if you are out in the wilderness, you can fall afoul of predators----both animal and human. If you had to defend yourself against a human attacker, or an angry bear----could you do it? Our ancestors travelled armed to the teeth and ready to kill to defend themselves. It was no walk through a Disneyland park. I think that too many people treat national parks and wilderness areas just like they are in Disneyland. They never think of the danger or how many ways there are to die out in the wild.
(and by the way----racoons and other animals can sound like human babies crying. No supernatural entitles required.)
In the story, what better lure could there be to bring in human prey than to imitate a child's crying? Good story, well plotted and told.

Bro, people who camps solo are sociopaths or have a death wish. I believe I read that in a text book from my dad's MD residency stuff

I like the quiet and the feeling of being surrounded by nature. Plus the thought of something lurking just out of sight, ready to attack me, is exciting.

I like when the illusion of civilization and being surrounded by others is shattered in these stories where people think that they are safe anywhere
