    Update...these are wonderful! For those who worry about the sticky dough DONT. Just keep folding in bowl. And when its time for the butter just keep folding till it forms a ball. The dough is a little loose and sticky. I let mine sit in the refrigerator 15 hours. The dough will fully absorb the liquid hydrating the flour. I let sit 15 minutes then worked it. It is very easy to work with while it is still chilled. I also used active dried yeast which I added with the liquids and added my salt with the flour. I only had salted butter so reduced the salt to 1/2 tsp. I have done some recipes that are supposed to be somewhat loose and sticky and added flour to them and it definitely makes it tougher and not as fluffy! Outstanding dough! I can use this for everything!

      15 hrs of refrigeration and my dough was still very sticky. Did you knead it after 15mins? I tried kneading a small portion of the dough to see the difference in the results post baking. I hope it turns out well..🤞🏻

I couldn't shape the dough like shown in the video as it was super sticky. Made 12 ugly balls anyway and placed them in a greased pan. 30 mins proofing done. the dough didn't rise much during this though. Brushed with milk+egg and baked them.
      Do give it a try and share updates! :)

    If you are using active dry yeast, don't add salt into the liquid but add the yeast instead. Then after you add the flour, then add the yeast. That way you can dissolve the granules so the dough will rise properly (not required but does improve the dough). The reason why I recommend adding the salt after is because salt can kill the yeast and adding it with the flour will prevent that from happening.

    • @bonsaibaby8257
      @bonsaibaby8257 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      This is a myth in bread baking. The only way you would inhibit or kill the yeast with salt is if you added salt and yeast together and let it sit without any other ingredients but that’s not what we do when making bread. Just add the ingredients and mix and knead right away and everything will be fine.

    I made this today it was so fluffy and delicious. I usually fail at making bread but this bun replicates the Chinese buns that I usually have. The dough was sticky at first so I added more flour and then put in fridge. Soon as it came out of fridge the next day it was perfect. Though the dough still stuck to my hand it was very fluffy. Thank you I can imagine using this recipe and putting my own desired filling in the buns. Usually I don't have time to make bread in a day but baking it the next day was less time consuming

    Hey thanks for this bread recipe.
    And yes, after going through the numerous varied comments, i must say I was bout excited n doubtful tho.
    But anyways I went with it full on out of sheer curiosity as to how exactly this bread would turn out.
    Followed the recipe to the T, and then came the point where the dough started to get sticky after adding in the dry ingredients to the wet, and i must say I didn't even bothered to add in more flour to the sticky dough, as the hydration was at 66%.
    And i continued to add the butter n the dough was even more sticker😂. All I did was incorporate the butter, leave it in the bowl , cover n went straight into my fridge to proof overnight.
    The next morning even tho I was super tempted n nervous to know if the dough was risen or not, i finally took it out, n to my suprise it was risen fairly well, but still sticky but not so much so to have it all messy. At the point, I dropped it onto a dusted counter n continued to the next step.
    Here comes a little twist tho, i decided to go full on with baking an entire load, as I didnt have the patience or wherewith to roll it out individually 😂.
    With the 2nd proofing for almost 50 mins it was one big loaf.
    Baked it for a 25-30 mins give or take, n it was one massive fellow 😂.
    I was really happy with the result, lightly crusty on the outside n super soft on the inside.
    And yeah, I did add few tsps of varied dried herbs , garlic pd n used salted butter in place of unsalted one.
    And yeah , go head even if the dough turns out super sticky , the effort is worth it at the end , cheers

    Can't wait to try this! Question for baker's out there- is there a specific reason why they mix the butter into the dough at the end rather than combining melted and cooled butter in with the wet ingredients? Second option seems much easier, but maybe there's a reason for doing it at the end?

    • @AnnieDaQueen
      @AnnieDaQueen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Butter and salt slows down the yeast activation process, I would usually add the salt and butter last.... but I have also seen pizza makers add salt in the beginning to slow down the overall rising of the dough.

      @@mnmrazeen I think the only thing I have done different is allowing bread to raise more time than what she recommended, may have nothing to do with the milk but with the humidity in my area Other than that yes every step she did.
      And also look at the milk she is pouring it looks like evaporated milk pay attention to the color of the milk.
      Take a Look at her other bread recipes looks she used evaporated milk in other recipes and honey instead of sugar.

      @lavvy2585 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      She makes it look so easy. I can't do it without kneading because it is always too loose and once adding butter it gets worse so I have to add flour and let a bread machine knead it. I have tried several of her recipes and haven't been disappointed. Her cream cheese stuffed honey buns and almond cream bread should be a crime.
