new here, but i have had my Ninja Woodfire XL Pro Connect new in the box since last christmas this spring i plan on opening it up, hope my steaks look like this? I'm excited, thanks
I have original ninja grill and it’s quite easy to use and cook. The flavor and color you obtain on smoking or grilling is just like having a gas or smoker bbq. Only learning curve is it usually cooks faster since it’s compact and circulates the air
It’s really easy to get great steaks with the wood fire! You are going to love it. I recommend doing the reverse sear on thicker steaks like this, on thinner steaks you could get away with just smoking at a higher temp but do make sure to temp check the steak for doneness!
I wish I remembered. I normally don’t check times since I go by temp. I do realize people want to know though so I am trying to be better in the future.
I got one of these for the summer. I am a total beginner. Will this cook steak at a suggested temperature or do I need to know food temperature beforehand. For example my wife only eats steak around medium. A little pink is ok but not much. Can i set the grill to cook a steak to medium? Sorry if thats a dumb question
There are no dumb questions. You can actually use the included probe and the app to pick your doneness. You can select medium and it will alert you at the right time.
Ribeye is my favorite steak, so thanks for showing how to do this. My main question though...where did you get the bird shirt??! Brand & name would be fantastical please. 😍
I have to say the steak lookes awesome. The fact that you slow cooked it and then seared it is why you don't see the small top and bottom of the steak that is well done. Cooke evenly top to bottom. And a perfect medium rare. I never use a thermometer when cooking steaks I go by the feel, but with a steak that big, I would use a thermometer.
Looks perfect! Absolutely perfect! However the Italian twist you where talking about is more American. Italians never season their meet, not even with salt. The just fire the thing up and then afterwards add some small amount of salt. And they always undercook the stake, not even close to medium well… It’s raw meet with alittle sear color… I prefer Dad Got This stakes every day of the week.
On cooks with a really low temp, like doing this reverse sear, I have had good results with keeping the food in during the ignition sequence. I have not run into any “dirty smoke” issues. It is tough to get a good smoke flavor on a short cook in this unit and this trick helps. There are actually a lot of pit masters I have seen toy with this technique on other cookers. It works well here in this instance.
Check your affiliate links. Just tried the Woodfire link (to Ninja) and it claims the page no longer exists. Also, in the video you talk about an Amazon affiliate link for the pellets -- but it's not in the description. Thanks for the videos, by the way.
I tried the link for the Ninja page, it worked for me. Is it still not working for you? I added the link in the pellets, I mistakenly just put the link to the pellets video with the tests and the links to all the pellets in there and no the link to the pellets themselves. Thanks for watching and pointing out the link issues. It really helps me out!!!
Thanks for the follow up on this. I checked again and NOW the link is working. Prior attempts resulted in a "Page Not Found" displayed on the Ninja site, so it's not like the site was down... just that particular page. Odd. That begs another question: Have you considered an affiliate link for these grills that point to Amazon? @@DadGotThis
That looks great
Thanks!

How long did it take to get to your internal temperature on smoke setting?

Thanks!!!
How long did it take to cook at 200 degrees?
Sorry about that, it took right at 1 hour in the smoke at the 200 degrees.
Want one so bad but Can’t seem to find it in Canada :( just the regular version
I heard it’s not in a few other countries as well. Weird.
Not sure where in Canada you live, but if you have one close to you, Canadian Tire has it.
Steak=yummy
Agreed!
That looks amazing! Support the amount of garlic used
Thank you! Can’t have enough in my opinion lol.

Yeah this is to feel out lol.

Yeah I am not a fan of “true Italian” steak. Not seasoning is CRAZY to me. Pasta they know, steaks maybe not lol.
Looks amazing… Is that the grill/griddle plate that comes with the unit??
This is an accessory they sell as an addition. It is about $40. Link is in the description.
Here is the link also. Ninja Woodfire Grill & Griddle Pan:

How long to get to 120
I don't recall, I usually cook to temp not by time because it can vary so much. However I know it was not that long. I believe under an hour for sure.
Thx. Love your site
He clearly lives in Florida. If I had my guess by the background and his decorum Id saaaaaaaaay ORLANDO
Bingo 😜
I'll sound like a broken record, but really should wait to put meat on until ignition stage completes.

Lolololol 120 degrees
He took it off at 120 because he knew it would end up around 127-128 while it rested waiting for the grill to reach high temp.

What;s an ERB? ERBs? Do you mean Herbs? The H is there for a reason. Other than mangling the English language, I'm loving the channel 😀😀😀😀😀
Are you from across the pond???
@@DadGotThis yes, right behind the fountain
