I’ve been an auto mechanic for 10 years and am tired of it. Your videos still really interest me. I think I’d really like not being stuck in a single shop every day
nice to see Cam back in action ! there is no better show in youtube than this 😅 hopefully in few months ill be back in hd mechanic jobs, still recovering from the car crash in january. Keep it up Cam ✌
@@TekamoHD im from Finland working with heavy like 9 years now, mostly i work with trucks and their trailers, but there is also some excavators and loaders, and in January i was so unlucky when driving to work, random car drived to my lane and hit my car straight to the front, happy to be still alive cos was wearing seat belt, but still broke my right foot, both knees, hip bone 12 ribs and left shoulder :( still few months to recovery but it is so nice to watch you guys. time starts to feel a bit long when you are not able to do anything..
@@Mattylarge thanks for asking ! Not so good.. sadly there was pretty major issues in my body which were not found right after the crash, i'm still in recovery rehab session and next week going again in surgery. Sadly allready one doctor started to talk about that i should change career, that i'm probably not able to go back in hd mechanic 😞
I've been abusing the seal joke like a mother at work. Bossman dreads asking me for the seals now. I got him so many times when he was helping me seat a cambox on the dd15
I just found this channel, I’m originally from Kelowna BC, but I’ve lived in Tokyo for 32+ years. Love the content, it’s like a combination of DeBoss Garage, Letterkenny with a pinch of Corner Gas! Cheers from Tokyo!
@@TekamoHD I was in between jobs in the spring of 1990, I was looking to change careers, I had a slot open for an apprenticeship at a large refrigeration company in Vancouver later in the fall. I was practicing a martial art called Aikido. My teacher in Vancouver suggested that I take a six month break between careers and study Aikido in Japan at the source. I got a working holiday visa and came to Japan for six months. Well that turned into two years, I met the love of my life, got married had two daughters ran my wife's family's liquor shop for 20 years or so and then got into general contracting about 12 years ago..? I love it here, I live in downtown Tokyo and I own five chainsaws :) A long answer, but you asked. I do enjoy your videos. Cheers! Stu
I snagged a dipstick under the stiffener plate on a paccar mx13. Didn't realize it till I pumped about 36 quarts in. Best lessons are learned the hard way lol
When I worked for Dodge I had a customers high miler 5.9 Cummins that leaked oil out the front crank seal. I was overjoyed to learn of the ‘speed sleeve’ they called it and the oversized crank seal for the cover. Had to get the kit right from Cummins. Fixed er right up!
Loved the comment about finding things and jobs growing as you go. one of the guys in our shop had a truck in for a service, noticed brass in the engine oil....service turned in-frame rebuild right there
People don't realize when you're a field mechanic you can only do what the customer wants and most of them don't have a f****** clue what needs to be done right which is sad for Mr field mechanic Mr field mechanic is a very highly trained individual that knows what's going on and he is the middleman between trying to fix it right and patching it and normally it's all over can either make it and break it I've watched people try to do one injector on 60 Ford engines when they knew they needed seven following it and take it back to the dealer time and time again it's all over the customer's decision which mostly are based off of bad decisions God bless the mechanic ranch on
Great video u guys rock and roll , had an issue with my first steel track and watched your video ,although different Was able to get together properly ,you are an assett to mechanic videos , thank you
I have disassembled engines with clogged oil pump strainers from the gasket smooh that squeezed out inside the oil pan....Like you said 'more isn't better here'. Fun video guys! 👍😁
very good, I'm a heavy equipment mechanic too, but I've been working with drilling machines in an underground mine for 15 years. I really want to work in Canada, hire me!
Hi Cam and Carson…another great video….. always learning from your videos and they get more and more interesting…. However I’d like to educate Carson!!! He asks who are U2? 🤣🤣🤣Answer is the best rock band in the world ✌️
If memory serves leaving the rear crank seal carrier loose until the seal is installed is the cummins service procedure. I've seen those carriers installed wrong and they absolutely pour oil
Have you ever used Hylomar as a sealant? A little goes along way, and it never actually sets so you don't have to worry about it clogging. We use it on gas turbines.
My education in Brazil is an electromechanical technician, in the first comment I put a mechanic, but in fact I have 15 years of experience as a technician. The fleet I work with is Sandvik, Atlas copco and Cubex. Do I have chances to work in my area out there?
Very likely it was. Cam and Carson get recognized all the time around this area, lots of selfies! Maybe we'll do a merch sale at Greggs one day for our new line of hats.
Second!!!!! Freaking apprentice screws everything up!!! Dammit apprentice is probably the one that broke the Kawasaki motor in the first place right you know what I mean?
Naw you wouldnt want to get in my brain you’d have a panic attack lol but i was thinking is how annoying is it how it swings all the time that to me would be annoying
From what I understand Kawasaki heavy equipment is crap parts are bad they have no service no support staff it's not like Caterpillar or John Deere they suck the big one scrap metal worked on a futa Cara loader which came from Japan which was a spin-off of a caterpillar copy which was incredibly bad 300 hours on it engine failed transmission failed at 400 hours we could not get no parts so it got pushed to the Bone pile at first they thought they got a good deal on it at the end they got no deal but scrap metal price have a nice day
Good thing most of the Japanese tractors are powered by Cummins engines which are almost the best caterpillar engines are the best komatsu had Cummins engines which were very good until komatsu started trying to massage them in their own way with the wiring was f****** terrible transmissions would not hold up final drives were weak undercarriage was junk 475 superdozer babysitting 5 of them only had one d10 cat that always kept running they called that the backup dozer

What do you use the n the spray bottle when rinsing off parts?

Little tip.... Take a strap and run it from the truck crane to the engine. just a bit tight.... It helps stabilize it while working on it.
Great Videos
Nice work!
I wish I could record my days at the mine.
what sort/type of fluid are you spraying to do final cleanup? Thanks.
Nice Vid!

did cam do his 4th year schooling for on highway? or stop after off road?
In bc you’re 4th year can be either in equipment or trucks so I imagine he took 4th year for equipment and most likely a red seal for equipment
What’s in the sprayer?
Brake clean

Unless it had low oil pressure or is using excessive oil I didn't see or hear a reason for an overhaul
