Laura if you get a short piece of rope to hook onto handle it will allow your little body to lean back further and this will give you more leverage. Love the channel and all 3 of you.
Good morning Sunshine! Just a suggestion, when you change the oil, fill the cartige before putting the new one on. It's +1 qt in volume and helps eliminate a dry start on the engine while it fills with oil. I love driving with a Jake brake! Love the function and the sound 😉 Have a blessed week and I'll see you on the next one. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
you are an absolute credit to women everywhere, especially the agricultural communities. I know men who cant even park a small car properly lol and here you are driving everything in sight.
Laura and Grant, would you like to try something challenging and exciting? Farming in Norway. Some farms are on flat land, but most fields are on hills or, even better, the sides of mountains.
Hi Laura such a amazing video. Today's modern trucks have a automatic gearbox here in the UK. If you ever come to the UK you would get a job driving a truck your so good at driving trucks and a good mechanic and not scared to get your hands dirty 😊
Laura's zeal for life and all things agricultural is an absolute pleasure to view the videos. I literally find it uplifting and look forward to each new video. Thank you! 💥
Well I can say without a shadow of a doubt you just have to doggone much fun is good to see a girl pick up a wrench it's good to see you drive down the road in a semi it's just amazing what women can do if they get the right coaching to know what to do and how to do it and do it well and it is very evident in your case good job Laura good job Grant keep it up I'll keep following you always put a smile on my face 🤠😎🤠
Laura, the lady trucker, you do so well driving the truck, I didn't realise it had eight forward gears, and one reverse. I bet when you arrive you can hear the men say Laura arrived. Your eyes looked a lovey green, the light must have just right. Love from Mike. ❤
OH MEMORIES! OF RIDING WITH POPS IN A WESTERN STAR FROM FARMER OHIO TO TOLEDO ANDERSON GAIN PORT- THE ROLLING DIESEL SOOT AND THE CB CHATTER TO THE HUGE SHIPS WAITING TO SAIL WITH LOADED GAIN- THAT SOMETHING FOR A LITTLE GUY TO BEHOLD- BUT I WAS A TRUCKER THAT EARLY MORNING!😊
Yes every time you prevent a new one being built in a factory is actually better for the environment than building a new one, even with all the modern EPA stuff in them now
I won't switch over from college football game for just anyone, but you guys are so down to earth and real...its pure entertaining...good luck kids and happy farming.❤🎉
I've driven Pete 359, 378, 357 and 367s over the years as long as they are pre-emissions they are good trucks. That Detroit 60 is a great motor, had an International 9400 with one and it was a beast.
Never coast in neutral,if you ever went for the test,Coasting would flunk you very fast, make sure the transmission has control of the truck,if you black out while coasting that motor would continue to run,if it's in gear once your speed drops the motor will lug and die:-)
Laura, while certainly a personal choice, you might TRY for a few work sessions some of the nitrile gloves for mechanics when doing shop work. Certainly takes some getting used to however does save the skin.
if you put your lunch next to the engine block it will stay warm. I used to put heat to eat cans of soup next to bloc of the tractor for lunch. you just had to pack a spoon . I save cellophane wrapped plastic ware from fast food joints for that reason. Then you can elect to keep or toss that implement of destruction when done. HINT avoid exhaust parts when engine cook unless you wanted to smell the food until it burns off the working parts. as a kid we made silver dollars with potato slices oninon carrot and hamburger and anything else you wanted . put inside foil wrappings . usually three or four layers will do it. stay away from exhaust parts. usually when you can smell lunch it is ready
I don't know if Laura has completed the new video editing course, but the quality of your videos has gone to a higher level. I miss the old vlog vibe a bit. However, the current ''film'' style conveys more, for example, technical information. I've been waiting for your videos every week for 3 years. Greetings from Poland, where the corn harvest is long gone :D If anyone is not satisfied with the sound of the engine, I invite you to watch my video, but nothing beats the exhaust brake in Laura's truck :D
Hi Sweetie, when you change the oil try to fill up your new oil filter with new oil so the engine doesn't start up dry. Just a suggestion. Otherwise I love your videos and enjoy watching you and Grant and Gage working on the farm. Oops I forgot about pepper to. Later....
Hey laura I’m happy to say that you have improved your skills as a truck driver. I would also like to say happy thanksgiving to you and your entire family and crew. Stay safe out there. Really appreciate and enjoy your videos!!
truck has nice rubber... seems to run good with no smoke, blue or black...quarter fenders are straight..good exhaust,,, good purchase... a million is just broke in...LOL
I drove truck for a custom harvest crew from April 20th until January 20th. I drove just over 50,000 miles in between waiting to get loaded and unloaded.
check into a Fumoto oil drain valve. If you know the thread size you could get one to fit. Typically the install app asks for you vehicle but I don't think they include semi's I have them on all my vehicles and have used them for 20+ years, no failures even when doing light off roading. Really saves on the mess.
I would be picking up the hood from the side. Too many drivers have injured themselves from the front. The company I work for had around 14,000 drivers. It’s not so bad to close the hood. But not to open.
Hello Laura from another fan who retired from driving after a little over 4 million miles. Thought I would miss it but actually don't. Now I have the time to restore my old tractors and follow TH-cam.
You don't need check batteries. Actually, that's not true. Checking connections and acid/water levels in a battery is important. Checking engine oil, and coolant levels and looking for leaks is real important. But even more important is doing a circle check around your truck. It's just common sense. You are awesome Laura and grant. Have a great day😊
Thank you , laura grant and gage for Representing nebraska. Nebraska get overlooked for so much stuff. Thank you guys keep up the good work represent Represent.🎉
1500 rpm’s Laura that is the sweet spot, two fingers no forcing , ok no clutch, start and stop only, a good professional truck driver will see all safety points , you will learn , ,and hopefully not the hard way, ,,BigAl California thanks
When I was learning how to drive a semi, I could upshift pretty well, but downshifting was always difficult for me. My son now drives a truck and he drives an automatic. I wish I'd had one of those back then. Lol unfortunately, I didn't remain a trucker very long, tho. I always enjoyed driving. 😊
I just changed the oil, fuel filter, engine air and cabin air filters on Laura’s going to town rig earlier this week and now she’s doing it herself on a peterbilt lol crazy
when i worked at a Mack dealership i had problems with the superliner hoods, got teased that i needed a flywheel strapped to me for more weight. may i suggest a backpack with trucking essentials in it as extra weight. be interesting to see just how much more it would take.
That engine oil sump plug doesn't need removing to drain the oil it has a cap on it that you remove. You then screw on a different fitting that has a barb that release's a valve in it and the oil comes out.
From a maintenance perspective, they do make a drain valve for those oil pans, kinda nice to use, I dont recall them being very expensive. The Petro shop by you guys ought to have some if nothing else.
Instead of valve stem caps. Go to ur tire guy and get some valve stem extensions for ur aluminum wheels. They work much better for airing up tires. The ones we use are called alligator valve caps.
well see you use a vacuum cleaner in the hole where you fill the oil before you open the oilplugg and it will not spill on ya fingers let the vacuumcleaner run
I’ve seen videos of Jamaican truck drivers driving curvy road with semi and trailer getting It! The tall gear shifter no clutch double tapping the accelerator shifting gears working the splitter then letting the jake break wake up all the dogs along the way! 😂😂😂😂 It’s like a solo concert for one!
Hey Laura. I am 70 year ole guy and I lift the hood from the fender well all the time. [I weigh 155 lbs.] LOL. And I wonder if you could teach farmer Grace how shift without clutching. Good job!
I found that after watching one of Laura's videos, I feel happy and want to smile more.
Good day to everyone!!
The reason Laura wanted to check the battery is she was afraid Grant had taken it off to get something else running.
So natural, I’m in awe.
Laura if you get a short piece of rope to hook onto handle it will allow your little body to lean back further and this will give you more leverage.
Love the channel and all 3 of you.

Myth
your personality is a rare commodity.....and makes the videos enjoyable.
you are an absolute credit to women everywhere, especially the agricultural communities. I know men who cant even park a small car properly lol and here you are driving everything in sight.
Laura and Grant, would you like to try something challenging and exciting? Farming in Norway. Some farms are on flat land, but most fields are on hills or, even better, the sides of mountains.
That plain bright white trailer desperately needs a large LAURA FARMS logo on the side!
You go girl , Love it that you're with Gramp !
That truck is a beast. Well done in keeping it in service.
Hi Laura such a amazing video. Today's modern trucks have a automatic gearbox here in the UK. If you ever come to the UK you would get a job driving a truck your so good at driving trucks and a good mechanic and not scared to get your hands dirty 😊
Smile. Always smile Laura.
This is a good looking truck with great driver comfort, and the power to get you there safely on time.
Laura's zeal for life and all things agricultural is an absolute pleasure to view the videos. I literally find it uplifting and look forward to each new video. Thank you! 💥
True elegance, just so right.

Your trying to open the Pbilt hood cracked me up
OH MEMORIES!
I love seeing an older truck get put back to work instead of rotting in some junkyard. That's what real conservation looks like.
I know it's hard to understand emissions because you can't see them but not really.
Yes every time you prevent a new one being built in a factory is actually better for the environment than building a new one, even with all the modern EPA stuff in them now
Absolutely 100% cobber, they dont comprehend that!!@ytzpilot
Don't forget to check the wheel hub oil in every hub. And every wheel hub on your trailer.
I won't switch over from college football game for just anyone, but you guys are so down to earth and real...its pure entertaining...good luck kids and happy farming.❤🎉
Another point regarding oil filters is to be sure the old filter came off with its O ring ,
Double O rings can cause leaks.
I've driven Pete 359, 378, 357 and 367s over the years as long as they are pre-emissions they are good trucks. That Detroit 60 is a great motor, had an International 9400 with one and it was a beast.
im been in a trucking for 46 years now the hopper is the was one i have never pulled but have haul corn in tanker
If the vin number starts with a D there's a good chance that I helped to build it at the Denton Tx, plant.
opening the hood, from one lightweight to another, lifting the fender is the way to go.
Never coast in neutral,if you ever went for the test,Coasting would flunk you very fast, make sure the transmission has control of the truck,if you black out while coasting that motor would continue to run,if it's in gear once your speed drops the motor will lug and die:-)
You will loose your license coasting over a RR track and shifting a gear over a RR. 😢 or not pass your test.
Laura, while certainly a personal choice, you might TRY for a few work sessions some of the nitrile gloves for mechanics when doing shop work. Certainly takes some getting used to however does save the skin.
@@jeffreybassett9918 yes sweetie oil can be absorbed through the skin, surgical gloves work the best and can be trash afterwards
Being an O"le retired O/O and having owned one "I have to say There is nothing CHEAP about A PETERBILT" !!!!
When you said it made your day when a truck driver honked at you, it must still be true because you are still a kid.:)
Next year’s harvest I’ll come out and visit and drive for ya. Always up for something different 👍
I haul corn and beans in the fall. I always try my best to make it easy for the elevator staff. Haven't been kicked out of an elevator yet!
Make sure the old oil filter seal is not sticking to the block otherwise you will have oil spewing all over after putting on the new filter.
Laura when you have a vertical oil filter fill the new filter with oil before installing! This puts oil in the motor immediately after starting!
Great fun on a cold rainy day, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the work you do on the farm. Thank you all farmer's

A week in shop or a new truck with a NEW payment ! Got to weigh the pros and cons !
Write the date of the oil change on the oil filters and fuel filters takes some of the guess work out of it..
I knew you would get that shifting down pat. Good job !!
You need a short rope hooked to the hood handle to extend your weight more horizontal.
Always a joy!

Really lovely video today I can’t help smile watching because you looked so happy 😁
Never drove a combine but I can drive a Zamboni. Got my class a cdl’s with passenger and motorcycle.
truck has nice rubber... seems to run good with no smoke, blue or black...quarter fenders are straight..good exhaust,,, good purchase... a million is just broke in...LOL
Now that is a real rig!
I drove truck for a custom harvest crew from April 20th until January 20th. I drove just over 50,000 miles in between waiting to get loaded and unloaded.

They work great…had one on my old Jeep Cherokee
I could replay this forever, it’s captivating.
Thank you for the video Laura🚜
Your very good truck driver now I remember when started when you with your dad
When you guys picking up corn bales
Great, fun video!!
Happy Early Thanksgiving from Charleston,SC ! God Bless Our Farmers ! Great video !
She is so adorable driving that big rig😊
I would be picking up the hood from the side. Too many drivers have injured themselves from the front. The company I work for had around 14,000 drivers. It’s not so bad to close the hood. But not to open.
Love the driving play by play! 👍🏻
5:00 you are the funniest farmer on youtube. We love your attitude and being a lil crazy. you even posted the clip from last time lolz
Your gear shifting is impressive. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Pepper&Gage just doesn't get no Nebraska than that Laura Grant.
Just a thought ,used fire hose for the liner of your fuel tank liner works well and can be cut to length for 360 coverage on each strap😊
👏 Good job
Bravo 👍
Your shifting is much smoother!
Laura I remember visiting the ground storage with you before and I do not think we saw the conveyor part so cool to see today.
Watching your channel is like meeting a longtime friend who always knows how to cheer you up. Keep making us happy with your funny videos!💣☺️📟

Mark the date and mileage on the oil filter when you change it.

In my Pete you just got to tap on the rpm gauge or the wire is lose in the dash?
well your getting to be a real gear jammer! Great fun watching
thank you very much Chief for bringing us Laura❤✌🖖
Unscrew the tach (etc) cable from the back of the dial and squirt some oil/wd-40 into the cable. See if that fixes things, but maybe a broken cable.
That’s classified as a 9 speed transmission. I have a 13 speed transmission in my semi!
My son is an Engineer at Peterbilt Trucks in Denton Texas.
You do that storage barn would make an excellent home for a Pickleball Court, right? 😅
Did you ever discuss how you did in your half marathon? It looks like your in plenty good shape for it.
Howdy from Texas! That'd be a 10 speed. High gear up against the dash. Same base tranny as the 15 but w no deep reduction back box.
I’ve seen videos of Jamaican truck drivers driving curvy road with semi and trailer getting It! The tall gear shifter no clutch double tapping the accelerator shifting gears working the splitter then letting the jake break wake up all the dogs along the way! 😂😂😂😂 It’s like a solo concert for one!
series 60 is a great engine

Hey Laura, Fitzgerald Peterbilt has a good selection of 2024 389`s
