Finally enough cooling for the core i9
that made my day
It'd probably heat it up
Bill Kong no it will cool it
No I’m not your dad You'll cool it or you'll be grounded
Bill Kong r/woooooooooooosh
I watched this motor run a week ago in real life at an airplane show in Sweden and I can tell you it is INCREDIBLE!
It never gets boring watching these Rolls Royce Aero engines.
I love how this man shows off his superhuman strength through this feat of holding back such a bohemithe from taking off across the field in front of it. The old man standing in front of this enraged beast should be so greatful!
Good to see one of these twin contra-Merlins in such display. Kudos to you sir!👍👍😎
It's not a Merlin, it's a Rolls-Royce Griffon.
@@spitfire31f11 Its like a merlin that's goes to the gym 6 days a week and mainlines protein shakes.
The hills are alive, to the sound of Horsepower 😁👌
Those contra-rotating propellers looks amazing
seems to be tuned very well, good throttle response, smooth idle, very nice...
Perfect fan for my room to help me sleep at night
Ian W 😂
Ian
Yessir! The perfect fan for sleeping! It would cut out ALL background noises by emitting a very pleasing note!
Same😂😂
@Caspar Goodrich no
What a wonderful sound, like music. Also consider the amazing history of RR piston power evolution, the Griffon being the culmination. Thanks for posting.
2500 CV ATMO... 😅 You feel the power in your headfone 🎧
What a BEAST 🐯
now that is a lovely work of art . thank you from all the men in the world who just want to look at wonderful machines like this .
Best Engine from England
With those white socks, stance and airflow he was on the cusp of breaking out some MJ moves
This must be the ULTIMATE piston engine of all time, ever!
Nah Pratt and Whitney r4360 wasp major. But the griffon merlin and centaurus was uks best!
The russians had a 15,000hp engine...
With the calm confidence of pristine ignorance, I vote for the Napier Sabre. Bad tempered but enormously powerful, they pulled back its power for service use.
That thing barks!What a sound!
A P51 went over the house yesterday, there is no mistaking the Rolls-Royce sound,it does something to you!
Well done Richard. Excellent weather for it as well!
RR Griffins are SUPER RARE engines. Awesome video!!
Chad Cole PROBABLY MAYBE 500 GRAND FOR THAT ENGINE!@ ANOTHER 100 OR 150 GRAND FOR AREAL PROP. ALL YOU NEED IS CANOPY FUSELAGE LANDING GEAR AND WINGS AND BASICALLY UOUR READY TO FLY!!! BEAUTIFUL ENGINES!!!
Anthony Agnelneri - Oh yes. I know how pricey these engines are. 😃👍🏼
Chad Cole actually they're not. The RAF used them in squadron service powering the Avro Shackleton untill 1991. After which they become available to the general public, in the form of the Griffon 57 and 58. Although technically not a Spitfire version of the engine, modifications can be made to allow fitment into the Spitfire airframe. A few of the Griffon powered aircraft flying today are powered by ex Shackleton engines, meaning they can always have a spare lying around just in case...
Iove.....u......Fc..
Anthony Agnelneri there is a button on your keyboard that says “caps lock”. Go ahead and press it.
This is the craziest thing I watched on youtube till 2006.... God damn it...
The only time when noise has a beauty all of its own!
*kuznetsov nk12 intensifies*
I would’ve let those brakes go on wheels and see what happens
You have two props, one is counter rotating to counter the other, so there is no thrust otherwise the entire set up would just take off.
Alex V no, the props are counter-rotating but also angled opposite directions. If the brakes were let off it could move.
thats right...fuk trump..fuckin idiot
Alex V
Edit 9 Months later:
Bruh did you even pay attention the area behind the propellers
@@zeus-bx9xw TDS much?
The neighbors lucky I ain't got enough money or I'd be playing with this every morning
In 1980 the unlimited hydroplane miss Budweiser swapped a Merlin for the Griffon . Pretty awesome hearing a half dozen V12 boats advance to the start line running full throttle with nitrous oxide boost.
I miss those days!
"Our new vehicle does zero miles per gallon.."
Hmm, back to the drawing board, I guess.
Now imagine the sight and sound of a Shackleton startup and full power run with four of these and full diameter counter rotating props! We love and miss our 'Shacks'
Darren-Edward Oneill to cut a long story short, I met an ex Shackleton crew not long ago. The flight engineer told me a story of a time they were flying at low level deep down in a valley. As they went around a corner they realised that they were flying down the wrong valley and a tall mountainous landscape lay right in front of them in close proximity. He went on to tell me that with everyone startled the Captain frantically opened up the power to overboost and climbed at VX (the steepest angle climb possible). He said the noise was incredible and at low airspeed they just scraped over the top of the terrain... They made it, but only just, and it wasn't the sort of flying they usually did...
That's an amazing story and one that had it been in many other 4 engined piston types would have been very different I'm quite sure. She was a growly old girl but she was beautiful! We had Shacks in service along our coastline as recently as 1986 when they were withdrawn from service and only because of the mandatory spar life but 1766 went on to fly until she crashed in the Sahara (another amazing Shack story you may be familiar with - check out the story here - well worth it th-cam.com/video/XCemSU7kAdc/w-d-xo.html ) and 1722 is still airworthy and based in Cape Town although her crew less so and soon there will be none qualified to fly her, we are treated to regular engine runs at the base which are always well attended spectacles.
a powerful and beautiful sound this Engine.
Congratulations for putting this engine in motion is a beauty is good that people can see the mechanics of these engines a greeting
AnGarGoy An you place this engine into a plane? This is awesome power for an airplane!!!
Crazy!!! What a power...
DrDuu 2490 horsepower
nice crackle and pop pop
Amazing !! Delicious sound !!!
mighty fine sounding machine ,, i love seeing these things run and hearing them too
worlds most powerful portable fan
Gotta love it, pure power!
The Miss Budweiser hydroplane used Griffons in 79-86, 4000 h.p.!
I feel bad for the blades of grass immediately under the prop. Must be scary lmao
Almost 2500 horsepower. Unbelievable.
thats what i call a real lawnmower
Brave man. Lotta horsepower.
Marvelous the counterrotarory blades...
at one stage i taught the guy was going to let go and get blown away
That is some dust-free turf right now.
an awesome engine
Well that runs nicely!
I need one of these in my Ford Fiesta! I might be able to get some where. Great sounding engine.
then i'd challenge you with a radial engine to see who can be the loudest and best sounding while driving and possibly to see who can shadder most windows
Perdí tres minutos con cuarenta y ciete minutos viendo este hueso de video
Q emosión ver un motor en acción
Guessing this video with the chin strap secured helmet is after the one where his ear muffs and hat were blown off.
RCWeaven FPV кино секс
Motor incrível!
fantastic sound. should've heard them in the bud griffon. (juggernaught)
I was expecting him to take off since he put his helmet.
Many people only want lame V8 wrooms, i want a V12 WROOM like this
I was waiting to see person standing behind the control panel getting flown in the air. LoL
It's from the Shackleton; and whoever can dislike this video????
very good santiang
Impressive!
Dad mowing the grass at 9am
When you've got an engine demo at 1 and have to mow the lawn at 2
Gonna put one in an SUV someday. Track the SOB, too. Problem is, Jay had a helluva time with overheating issues in his merlin car, so I can only imagine the auto-grade cooling system this'd need.
Amazing
Insane....
Great for cutting grass and dealing with loud neighborhood dogs.
How to instantaneously dry yourself off after a shower.
now how do i fit that in my car?
Very carefully
Lube
Make the front of the car longer
Build your car around it.
I would use a hydraulic press to shrink it down a bit so it can fit into your car 😉
the amount of air pressure while standing behind the damn thing would be insane
this is what powered spitfires isnt it
nice teknology
So cool
Nice mower
Maravilhoso!!!
Nice
Great Air Conditioning for heat waves. 😂
The body chopper 9000
When you need a fan to change the weather.
Вот это зверюга!
Imagine driving that to work
That is a nice late war spitfire engine
yep, a well know Aussie hot rodder by the name of Rod Hadfield put a merlin into a 55 Chev 2 door. and got it legally registered for road use here in Australia. he eventually sold it to a guy in America after taking it there to do the show circuit. amazing car and engineered beautifully. th-cam.com/video/SIj2GVfua84/w-d-xo.html
Superb. Do you think he drives it down to the shops on Sunday morning to get his milk and newspaper?
A technical question: Is that prop feathered or not? Cause it doesnt look like it, but I assume it is feathered, otherwise the carriage would definitely not be able to hold the engine in place, or would it? But why is there still so much wind blowing - Does that also happen with feathered prop, just to a lesser extent?
VERY GOOD SOUND V12 SHOW , BRASIL OK.
Is it only me or would you also buy a brand new Scania truck and put in this beast just cause IT WILL FUCKING JUST PULL.
A machine straight out of hell
Did he bring it up to full revs I wonder? Looked amazing!
I highly doubt it, that'd be where it makes all its hp, somewhere around 3000rpm and even with the stubby props on, it might get the whole cart moving.
Bravooo
I need this for my Miata
Mantap
Oh yeahhh...
Hang on Snoopy
Sea fire engine!
Let's fly
I think the technical term is quite a ... "Unit"
When fuel economy is a nice to have instead of a must have 😂
I wonder how far did he go with the throttle... I suppose not full thrust, that would have blown him away.
Just me and my Merlin...thanks.
In 1946 Griffon powered fully operational Supermarine Spitefuls ( yes ) were limited because of the wings to 480 mph.
MrNotleo I thought one was officially clocked at 494mph with a 100 series Griffon, with a 2 stage 3 speed R-R centrifugal supercharger.
But Officially wasn't supposed too.
MrNotleo I've never read anything to the contrary. The wing was also later used with success on the Supermarine Attacker with a top level speed of 590mph. Can I ask where I can search to find such information of the limiting speeds for the Spiteful?
Of all the piston engined fighters of the time the Spiteful was the fastest and most comprehensive, as in it was a complete fighter. The single high speed P47 that was extremely specially modified and prepared was not. With guns and everything else unnecessary removed for that task... Although it's likely it did achieve 505mph (which is an incredible achievement), it essentially wrecked it's engine and turbosupercharger in the process and most definitely was not a standard squadron aircraft. The other high speed squadron fighter that was completely operational was the P51H at an impressive 487mph. The Spiteful on the other hand could do 494mph on a Griffon 100 series (2stage, 3speed supercharger). All with guns, gunsights, along with all other complements, completely ready for squadron service. The only reason they only made 19 of them was because of a new invention called the jet.
when your potato pc runs a 19 kilobyte game: 2:21
I want to have this on my Kubota lawn mower...
miata owners be like: "it can fit"
Will This fit in my room for air conditioning
Where’s the dolly tie-down straps?
Can you count horsepower of tge electric engine see in my vlog...
I'll bet that the guy had a sore throat after standing in that air flow.
Is he a space ball?
