    The issue with the T-GT II is that it is near the price of a Fanatec DD, if you can stretch your budget a little bit you can get a direct drive wheel and into the Fanatec ecosystem.

    • @OCRacing
      @OCRacing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Exactly. Although it becomes more attractive when you see the pre-order wait times on Fanatec products, taxes, shipping etc.

      @@OCRacing yeah shipping with taxes and import on direct drives can be expensive. I would expect a full csl dd setup to cost you 150 to 300 to get that into Canada that's how much it's going to cost me to get a vrs base alone. also One the guys have spoken to recently it costed him 600 bucks to get his dd1 to him in Saskatchewan that hurt just hearing it.

      @@Lollburger88 the dd1 is twice the size and more then twice the cost as the DD Pro so it's not surprising it's costing you less as 600 was ridiculous even for the dd1. Not sure who fanatec uses for shipping to Canada but I've heard vrs they use ups and I've heard ups charges 90 bucks to clear it through customs on top of whatever Customs charges and what you pay for shipping. Which is dumb you literally got to pay them extra for them to do their job you already paid them for.

    I bought the GT II with the TH8A for ETS 2 ,the benefit (if you can call it that) of a (analogue) belt driven wheel is ,it feels more realistic, than a digital "to me that is ".
    For instant, when you drive on a dirt road the belt drive feels much more realistic , same goes for curves .Like a real car there is a feel of pinion on the rack this is a mechanical feel .(no car is digital )
    You don't have that with a digital wheel ,than again the response time of a digital wheel is much better . I'm to old for that ;-)
    With belt its a organic feel , with digital its solid state .
    Lots of you are complaining about the pedals( not yet) , but the steering wheel it self, its to small and has way to many buttons (it also looks cheap) .I bought a large wooden spoke wheel.
    Just my opinion .
    Thank you for uploading .
    Regards Kenneth John The Netherlands

      I went from T300 to a DD and felt exactly what you described. I drive for a good chunk of the day in real life every day as part of my job, and to me belt driven sim wheel just feels more natural/realistic than direct drive. DD is too instant to respond and way too digital. I'm now watching this video considering selling my DD to get the T-GT II instead.

    Another feature I didn't see mentioned was the transducer on the rear. I am not sure that it works for all games but for GT it is used to provide vibration feedback for road surface and other things in the game. Really adds a nice bit of depth as you can feel it down through the wheel stand and into your pedals (assuming there are all connected). I was skeptical at first but it really helps with immersion to have that vibration.

    Can't believe the pedals they included with this wheel. Even the T248 at $400 comes with MUCH better pedals. Those pedals ARE actually terrible. If all you had was the stock 2 pedal set, then sure they're fine, but at this point, there is absolutely NO excuse for TM to not include at least the T3PM pedals with this wheel given it's price

    • @zdendas13
      @zdendas13 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Ordered them about a year after I ordered the T150, then 3 months later I got button bounce like crazy, that made the buttons on the wheel completely unusable. Had to play specific games/sims that had button debounce settings like rF2. Mine started to squeak too. Plus the spring in my brake pedal creaked from day 1 and made a pop in the pedal as the spring got pulled further and further inside, but it was always in a random spot, so it made it hard for the pedal to he predictable. Just got the T248, because this kind of thing is barely in my budget, and can't say its bad. The pedals are absolutely awesome that cone with it. Just hope this one lasts longer than a year and a half like my T150 did, considering TM only carries a 1 year warranty 🙄

    Fanatec for the win 🥇!! If I ever get my freaking CSL DD which I ordered in mid March of 2022, I’ll make a video. The 480+the table clamp is all the upgrade cost me for the 8nm DD since I already have old Fanatec CSL elite aluminum pedals with clutch and load cell brake, the clubsport SQ 1.5 8sp manual and sequential shifter, and the clubsport handbrake…which I bought when I first got into sim racing for Xbox 360 when I bought the Fanatec GT2 Porsche wheel base. This GT2 wheel still works 10+ years later and is holding me over until the CSL DD arrives… My CSL Xbox 1 wheel base is broken, as a motor gave out and it doesn’t finish the start up sequence , and I also got a crap CSL elite wheel rim that broke and just out of warranty. I’m still all in for Fanatec because everything works amazingly great when it works 😅🙄😂😢! Oh yea, the clutch spring on the pedals disintegrated and had to be replaced with a compression spring from a hardware store for like 3bucks, but the load cell brake still works with the original load cell 10 years later. A belt wheel for 500 bucks is just insane and at 800 you can get a full basic Fanatec set for console and computer. Not even a close comparison.

    The reason I went with the GT7 DD Pro is because it was a lot easier to get than the T-GT II. When the T-GT II was first released last year I kept looking online to buy one and couldn't find a single location that sold it. It was always sold out. Then in November of last year the GT7 DD Pro went on pre sale and I was able to put my order in no problem. My wheel even came 2 days before GT7 released.
    Not sure how happy I would have been with this wheel, but I love my GT7 DD Pro. I have the Load Cell Breaks and the 8nm Power supply with it. I can tell the Wheel itself is more on the cheaper side, but I'm sure it needed to be done to keep the cost down. I love the fact that I have an option to upgrade my wheel to the large line up of wheel that Fanatec has to offer. In the end making my wheel a very premium wheel all around compared to the T-GT II which you miss out on the load cell pedals, I even heard that the TM load cell breaks aren't that great compared to Fanatecs design.

    • @all-caps3927
      @all-caps3927 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also the problems you mentioned with the T-GT ii's brakes aren't really that relevant because you don't have to buy the $800 package. You're much better off going with the servo base on its own, which comes in at a very reasonable price and also allows to dodge the average 3TPM pedals and the horrendous steering wheel. With the servo base coming in at $349 I can buy the SF1000 Ferrari wheel or a range of other alcantara offerings deeding which titles you want to play and these wheels are ultimately better than any Fanatec offering. The pedals which I would then recommend are the LCM pedals which many argue are even better or just as good as the "load cell" pedals you have which I presume are the Fanatec CSLs. All of that for a cheaper price seems like a better deal for me. The only downs is the wheel is belt driven compared to direct drive thats it pretty much.

    I think the TGT wheel is better with the leather and the rotary encoders vs the DD Pro wheel but obviously a Direct Drive base is better. The T3PA pedals can be upgraded with a Ricmotech load cell and they rock that way. The Rotary encoders work out with F1 and ACC on Playstation as well as GTS and GT7. You didn't mention the D-SUB in your review, I found that added a lot to the FFB in GTS. also it's really simple to use a larger wheel rim on the TGT button box, just a couple of screws. I bought an F1 style carbon fiber rim and swaped it to the TGT button box. Simple process.

    Thanks for the video. Very fresh to sim racing and just picked up a cheap second hand G29 to see if I’d enjoy it… and I do. I want to upgrade already but this wheel is weirdly placed in the market. As you’ve said, the only thing that makes it desirable over a DD is the availability. Here in Aus, this wheel is twice the price to a t300rs gt and I’m just not sure it is twice as good. The wheel is $1000 here just for the wheel and base and $1300 with the pedals. How they justify $300 for these pedals I’m not sure. For comparison the Fanatec 8nm base is $1000 here. I am also keeping in mind the direct drive wheel TM is meant to be releasing, which if isn’t in my budget should at least bring this and the 300t down in price… but when that will be who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️
