    What a great and honest review. I just bought this wheel, (coming from a t150) with the T-LCM and what a difference it is. GT7 feels like a complete new game, you can feel the grip, be more precise. The rumbling is so well done I find myself playing way more GT7 then ACC on the PS5. Having so much fun and as you said, that is what it is all about. No need to discuss a DD wheel, it is a personal opinion after all.

      agreed, really nice to not have him spend the whole video acting confused about why anyone would buy this instead of spending 500 more on a DD option [here in canada, it aint so pretty]

      Have you tried the GT2 with different games or just for GT7? I'd personally like to know how much better the wheel performs for GT7 vs all the rest as I'm pretty underwhelmed by it even though it's good on Project Cars 2. Would be nice to know the price is justified and it competes well vs DD on the right game. I was devastated to feel how clunky the wheel is when I first got it.

    • @JayTurboDeluxe
      @JayTurboDeluxe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Substance2020 Currently I play only ACC and GT7. The wheel is working absolutely fantastic. Since the ACC upgrade to 1.8 the ffb on ACC is much better then what i got from GT7. But on GT7 it is still very good. Have you tried different settings? PC2 is known not to have good ffb also depending on the car so not a good reference point.

    • @Substance2020
      @Substance2020 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JayTurboDeluxe Strange, I thought only GT7 made use of the transducer and was designed around that game given it has a specific switch for it.
      I dunno, PC2 is pretty good, played around with everything. I'm sure it could be improved on though.

    • @JayTurboDeluxe
      @JayTurboDeluxe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Substance2020 Don't forget PC2 is getting old ;) Will give it a try just for Le Mans that is just epic. The transducer only works for gt7 but I don't miss it on ACC bc the FFB in that game is just so good.

    Good review, agree that the TCLM are a must and a huge upgrade, I can’t believe the price of this unit and like most others think I would consider Fanatec instead however the additional delivery and import duties increase the overall cost. I hope Thrustmaster are creating some newer bases for Xbox but the prices are more reasonable

    Don’t get me wrong I would no questions asked take a tgt ii if they gifted me one as well, but there is not $600+ worth of difference/upgrades to the ii to justify me moving to it. I’ll stick with my base tgt and save up for the fanatec dd and pedals they offer that is worth the sticker price.
    The one thing that drives me absolutely nuts about thrustmaster and the tgt is all their acronyms and flashy explanations of those acronyms, but it all still leaves you scratching your head of what it actually all means.

  • @effinjamieTT
    @effinjamieTT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    with the imminent release of the new Fanatec dd wheel, why would you pay this price for a belt driven wheel? I foresee a rather drastic price cut.

    • @palopo-t3v
      @palopo-t3v 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because with the DD you need to buy the base, the hub, the wheel and the pedals, and that will be about 1500€.

      @timduncan2211 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@palopo-t3v exactly this. I keep pricing it out because I see the cost of the base, but then I go and put the literal cheapest bundle together that I can and it winds up twice the price. Plus I don't have room for a dedicated sim rig. Mines foldable. There is no way in HELL its going to handle not only the ffb but the pressures required with load cell pedals.

    • @palopo-t3v
      @palopo-t3v 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@timduncan2211 Yes. It's still a good price if you plan to get serious about this hobby. But the initial investment to adopt any direct drive ecosystem, even with a Fanatec DD base, is never lower than $1300 (base, wheel, pedals, rig). If you're a casual simmer there's no way to justify the cost of this. This is for people who will spend hours and hours every week driving, who are even willing to get an extra PC with monitors and dedicate a corner of the house for it and the sim rig. Basically we're talking at least $3000 to have a rig that makes using a direct drive wheel pleasurable rather than an annoyance.

    I believe the T-GT II will have the option to buy base , base + rim , and base + rim + pedals so diff options if people wanted diff rim/pedals seperatetly.
    T-GT was a cracking wheel even better with the T-LCM purchase. Have moved to Fanatec DD1 since but do miss that extra sensation you got in GT sport with the T-GT def added to that game shame was not compatible in other titles.

    I bought the t-gt 2 for 500 euros like new, only opened for a demonstration, and I’m really happy. I’m playing it on gt sport and I can’t wait to try it on gt7. For people who play different games, and play on pc, I advise to choose the fanatec csl dd. It’s useless to go on to say ‘people with a brain choose the fanatec’, they’re two different product for two different platforms.

    • @FXCartel

      The dd Pro is a ps5 compatible. I've went for a tgt2 for 500 too so when I come to upgrade to the dd Pro in march I will have my moneys worth. Hopefully its as good as my last g29 if not better

    • @Il7ony89
      @Il7ony89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@FXCartel yes right, but I was talking about the csl dd, that is in the same price range. I considered to buy the DD pro but I’ve noticed that if I add the third pedal, the booster kit and the delivery from Germany it would cost me more than 1K, double than what I spent on the thrustmaster. It’s a direct drive, it’s a fanatec product, it’s surely better than the t-gt 2 but we can’t compare it with a wheel that I can find on the market for half money used like new. And, if I have to be honest, the t-gt 2 with gran turismo, assetto corsa and dirt 2.0 it’s really impressive, and the fact that people judge it without having tried it makes me really angry

      T300 lowers the force feedback when it starts overheating. The problem with T300 is that in the default mode it spins the fan a little too late. You can prevent it by having the fan on from the get go, you activate this mode by pressing two specific buttons (easy to google). That way the wheel won't overheat and the FFB shouldn't fade.

    Jase this is exactly what I was expecting. A real lazy effort. I think as soon as they caught wind of a cheaper DD wheel from Fanatec they decided there and then it was easier to just very slightly upgrade the TGt and throw it out with clever marketing jargon. They have years to develop a DD wheel but as predicted Logitech and thrustmaster want cheap to manufacture wheels and not involve themselves in more complicated DD units. Piss poor effort for sim racers that were expecting bigger things.

    Also, I already have a T-GT wheel/base that I lucked into about 2 years ago on a closeout. I was not very knowledgeable at the time but over the past year or so I've come to realize I basically stole the thing (paid about 299$ for it)
    Over that time I've been slowly putting my sim together. Its now about complete so I'm just tweaking things and upgrading components ahead of GT7 releasing..With that said, would the T-GT 2 be worth getting as an upgrade?..Or is there not enough difference to make a difference. Thanks in advance!
    Edit: I did recently upgrade to the T-LCM pedals from the T3PA. I absolutely love the pedal feel on the new set...the only downside is that they do not have an option for inversion. Coming from the T3PA set, I was expecting them to have such ability. Does anyone have any knowledge on if it would be possible to set up the new T-LCM pedals inverted by cobbling together parts from the T3PA and the T-LCM?

    I honestly got both The TG-T and TG-T II plus the DD Pro and I honestly think that we won't see what these wheels can do until Gran Turismo 7 especially with the DD Pro. That's just what I think I may be wrong but I suspect GT7 will have full fanatec encoder support with even with their V3 pedals the motors on them like on ACC and the TG-T II's firmware is actually using the original T-GT's firmware. if you try the DD podium or DD Pro on ACC it feels like there's much more to improve on Gran Turismo 7 they don't even have an option in GTSPORT for the podium settings, DD Pro or TG-T II. I guess we'll wait and see. I sure hope so because fanatec podium and DD Pro feels amazing with full encoder support and the motors working on the pedals almost like a transducer it's awesome!

      This is a very good wheel for GT, especially as it has the second FFB motor. If you want something a little cheaper check my video for the Thrustmaster T248 on the channel. The Thrustmaster has a great eco system like different pedals/shifters etc, so I would always choose them over Logitech.

    Thx for the review and I agree on most points said. For GT players this is technically a great steering wheel, but t3pa pedals aren’t a great match with it. There are to many “old” components in this set to apprehend the price of this set. Personally I think this set is worth €450,- . Because the wheel set is already in stock and for sale, I guess the development and production line was already done when Fanatec came with the news of there “cheap” DD wheel. So in short terms , Thrustmaster haven’t got a answer to that DD wheelbase. Especially if you realize that the cheapest Fanatec setup is €630 vs €750 of the T-GT. Can’t wait to see a side by side review between those 2.

      they should be coming out with a DD soon, Seen on their twitter on the roadmap they posted about a direct driver wheel base they were planning to have done end of the year or beginning into 2022. Hopefully they came out with something cheaper then the CSL DD , IF they don't Fanatic has that whole market for themselves. And to get back on the topic of this video Im sure this wheel is Great, But you can buy the CSL DD With the Pedals and the boost Kit for a very Similar price as this thrustmaster , its like 100$ more. Anybody who is actually going to spend the money for this wheel, Should Just spend a little more for the Fanatec. Only downside is it might take a couple months to get it with the Demand Rates and the shipping Backlogs. this wheel Should be like 500 Dollars, not 800.

    • @ChrisVmovie
      @ChrisVmovie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      First of all , Thrustmaster posted that there DD will be pc only. The best comparison is the T-GT2 with the GT DD pro. Both for PC and PlayStation. Full Thrustmaster set in Europe is €750 and Fanatec is €700. How I see it is Thrustmaster puts a DD on the market it will be above the T-GT and so maybe about the price point between €900 and €1200.

    Disappointed - Just set a GTii up after the G25 got it's calibration damaged having used it for 10 years or more. Significant "notches" in the rotation - it's not going to be much of an issue when in races but this is one of the primary reasons for upgrading - a smoother wheel. It's simply not smoother than a G25 which shocks me. I can see now that Direct Drive is the way to go. I have the t-lcm pedals in the post as well to seal the deal here, so I'm stuck with the GTii.... Also the paddles are loud and cheap sounding. Two things I wanted - smooth rotation and quiet paddles. Sigh.....for the price it's very disappointing. If you're not worried about price I'd say head for the Direct Drive wheels. This feels like living in the past but the t-lcm pedals might be a revelation, I'll have to wait and see.

So seeing this come out was a nice thing, newer tech, for cheaper than the scalpers gouging prices. BUT I have 1 major concern. HOW AND WHY would they make this belt driven??? The rsgt was magnetic, and it was soooo nice. I never had a single issue with my rsgt. I havent been able to see any comparisons 1 to 1 with the t300rsgt and the new tgt2. How does the belt vs magnetic feel and sound? Those belts seem like a big step backwards to me. Am I missing something? Should I just bite the bullet and pay the scalpers for an rsgt?
