    It doesn't help to do a essay on cultivation theory without knowing what cultivation theory is, thanks for the video

    I do think cultivation theory is not complete bunk ; but I think that they might just have reinvented the confirmation bias wheel. Someone who fears crime and watches a lot of television will mostly remember the crimes, but that might also apply to casual conversations and other non-mass media related sources.
    Good video though.

    Aw, look at your little like bar; it's so adorable! Mostly positive; let's hope the social science denialists that are stampeding around TH-cam and Reddit these days don't come across this, or you're going to see that change very quickly. Then again, that probably won't happen because this is an educational video and, well, you already explained the rest in your video.

    • @grabbitt
      @grabbitt  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      it's not my opinion just explaining the theories for students studying the media.

      ***** Oh, I understand that. My point was that the demographic I'm referring to tends not to share that understanding.

      As someone who might fit in that category you're describing, I found the example at 2:57 very interesting. That's because the people I'm opposed to who often cite cultivation theory (even though they sound more like hypodermic needle theorists) are the people who I'd associate more with this behavior, that is, they often use customizable social media sites like tumblr a lot more. Thus, they may think bigotry itself is a bigger problem than it really is.
      So this person can keep his like bar. laughingelfman.jpg
