I’m glad I got into a DSM. It’s been a good project/daily for me. Everything you said is spot on. Things will go wrong, maintenance is key but man o man the feel of being behind the wheel of an iconic car. The head turning when you pull up somewhere. Hard work pays off. Cheers Miguel 👍🏽
Full exhaust Wheels Bagged Upgraded Turbo's Stereo Would be my top 5 mods. Good video! Would definitely love hearing stories that happened in your life or more DSM and VR4 videos.
If I was doing mods for thr first time for mine at where its at now I would go with these mods first 1. wheels and tires for sure 2. ECM link allot of guys go why that being second because once you have it any supporting mods you do after will be helped by the ECM link being there already so you can fine tune the car. 3. exhaust free up that flow so the turbo can spool faster and the engine can breath better. 4.depending on how well the paint was taken care of that would be a new paint job so the car is fresh and clean again.5 .fuel system to where when you upgrade turbo and fuel injectors you will have the support for the fuel to supply those two with the best bang for the buck.
@@MiguelDsm true but looks is important as well that is why I said wheels tire and a paint job. because lets face it most of our cars have been woefully neglected by their old owners in keeping the paint looking fresh and polished but performance is also why we want the car in the first place is why they have earned a rep for being the baldest car on the planet to have on the street.
Another banger 🔥 also I just noticed you either need to adjust the mic or sound treat the garage because there is a lot of ambient noise and sound bouncing around with the recording. Keep up the good work bro👏👏
For sure maintenance, maintenance, maintenance! Then replace everything rubber! And I agree with suspension, wheels and tires! After that....Link, and then you are pretty much set to do what you want.
i just bought my first sports car, a 98 gst with only 83000 miles on it, i’m gonna check and change fluids belts hoses and brakes but is there anything else i should look out for ?
Inspect paint condition, look for rust, all rubber parts, all suspension components, maintenance records, make sure the wiring wasn't messed with, and make sure none of your hatch or sunroof drains are plugged (water in the spare tire area)(water leaking on you and your seats). 👍
First off, awesome job on the build. The best mod you can do to your DSM is to yourself. Research, research, research. If you have to ask what’s the best mod your not doing your research. Save yourself a lot of time, money, and aggravation. I went through 3 different turbo setups, multiple fuel/air modifications and other forum power mods before realizing the K.I.S.S rule is king.
All used evo parts! XD. My 1g has $75 evo enkeis, $75 stock evo dampers, and probably other stuff. I think the list is different between 1g and 2g slightly but the power stuff is the same. Fuel pump and injectors are needed quick with both, exhaust adds a lot, intercooler and piping would be next for me, then turbo and exhaust manifold. Then dsmlink or a 99/evo ecu would wrap up the top 5 power mods to do on a stock dsm.
hey quick question, i wanna be that kid that has a lul bit of everything, the only thing i have done to my car is rim and coil overs other then that typical maintenance. but i was wondering wat engine can i throw in my engine bay? if i do swipe out the stick engine i would have to upgrade the trans too ?
does anybody know any good forums or yt channels for 4g models? for specification cross references on the gs and gs sport model engines. because other than maintenance id like to know some beginning mods i can do
I wouldn’t do it again. For the money your spending, it’s not worth the hassle/little power you get from going turbo. Either Evo swap or get a GST/X and build that instead
The biggest mistake people make is thinking they can get a GST or GSX for dirt cheap and not have issues, if you are paying less than $10K for one, you are going to pay for the rest in time and repair costs. 💵 I bought my stock GSX in 2012 from the original owner with 24K miles on it, never had any major issue in 10 years ownership. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance! 👈 Has been mostly reliable as my DD the whole time. Only down for things like full timing belt jobs, ect... Finally getting my VeilSide body kit this month! 😁👌
Common with the cali hate. There's a decent amount of stuff you can legally do, the cops are just as ignorant as the internet. Cat backs are fine, hard pipes are fine (not the intake pipe ironically), anything carb certed is fine obviously, and you can also always get swaps certed if you do it right. Other states have a lot of laws too and just don't enforce them as aggressively. They're still on the books though
From what I’ve seen, even carb legal mods can get you In trouble. Cops don’t really seem to care/learn the actual laws when it comes to what’s legal with modified vehicles
I don't even have a dsm, but I'm gunna listen to you talk about 5 mods I can put on my eclipse that I don't have. Your channel is awesome, sir.

Any power ideas for my 4g gs spyder 2008
Nobody gonna mention how much better Miguel has gotten with cinematics?
U r getting to a serious production level here
Full exhaust
Wheels
Bagged
Upgraded Turbo's

You went with the performance route 👌🏼 perfect choice of mods if you’re looking for power. I’m a little more on the looks side

Audio is excellent, no need for a mic, vid is clean and 9.5/10 overall. Keep it up bro 👌
Appreciate the feedback!
Sound quality is amazing Miguel 💪
Another great video bro and you should also make videos like this one but for the evo and vr4
That’s the plan man! It’s the first of many 🤘🏼
Another banger 🔥 also I just noticed you either need to adjust the mic or sound treat the garage because there is a lot of ambient noise and sound bouncing around with the recording. Keep up the good work bro👏👏
I didn’t use an external mic on this video. Have to learn what’s best through testing though! Thanks mang! 🤝

I’ve rarely seen anyone get link right off the bat. It’s usually done right before they need to tune some mods haha
Looks good man 👍
Thanks man! Love the white 2g on your pic
In depth content is always dope bro
Might start doing more of these tbh
Got my first 2g eclipse its a RS though which sucks but its okay ill tune her up🙏 you inspire me a lot thank!
thank you for preaching maintenance. Easily most overlooked thing in dsms
Sounds like we’re beating a dead horse but it has to be said for all the new comers
Great video man!
Keep em coming!
I love these new sit downs! I would definitely love to hear stories about your life experiences! Car related or not. 🤙🏽🔥

6:18 Damn bro put the guns away 👀😂
Sorry 😂
Keep it Rollin!! Let's get some details on the 4g63 and 6g72 engines. Like 5 things that impressed me about X engine
I’ll add that to the list of ideas! Would be cool to compare both 👌🏼
Best eclipse vid I’ve seen! Any recommendation for maintenance parts specifically? Or even specific parts?
I think it applies to any type of maintenance on any car. Timing belt, old sensors, hacked up harnesses, fluids etc
@@MiguelDsm I meant like a website😅 my bad

I am looking for my first car and I have grown to really like eclipse, do you think it would be worth the money? for a first car?
super high quality as always
What I like about your mod was the carbon fibers. The carbon fiber wing looks great on the eclipse. Where can I buy one and how much it cost?
I got mine used Years ago. Message carbonetics on Instagram and see if they can still make one for you
Hey Miguel much love, can you please give advice or maybe even top 5. Things we should do to a 420A?❤️
Same list applies man. This car was a 420a at one point
Me gusta este estilo de videos migue explicando cosas porque personalmente aprendo para mi coche que no es un eclipse pero muchas cosas me sirven
Me da gusto bro! Es algo nuevo que quiero integrar al canal. También en el de español
i agree
Thanks for watching Noah 🤝
@@MiguelDsm no problom miguel
The 90’s manual eclipses in Pristine mint condition aren’t going for a cheap penny anymore
Would you recommend keeping the stock seats or aftermarket seat and if so which brand to get
Im a fan of Bride & Recaros. Stock seats are fine if you’re on a budget
@@MiguelDsm alright cool thanks bro

about to buy a 1999 but i got extra for repair replace for parts i no things will break over age but itll be worth it
Is it a good idea to turbo a 420a or no?
I wouldn’t do it again. For the money your spending, it’s not worth the hassle/little power you get from going turbo. Either Evo swap or get a GST/X and build that instead
It's crazy to think that I enjoy my 4g63 chassis! My galant vr4 was great until I started making power that broke transmissions lol
I just got 99 gs for $400 granted it needs quite a bit of body work but the engine and trans still running strong got lucky
Nice video 👍
Idk about under $1k cause here in my part of florida they going for $9k+ and thats the RS model
I was talking about the modifications under a certain budget. Prices for these are way higher than 4-5k now
Sounds good 💯
What percent tint do you have Miguel? 20? 15%?
5%
Thanks!

In a car, the most important thing is the wheels
The audio is great except for the static noise throughout the whole time of use. If u watch the video, u can hear the sound of the static.
I can hear it
Do a mods to do to an Evo 8,9 and X
I’ll be doing one for the Evo guys as well 👌🏼
@@MiguelDsm appreciate it. I’m looking for a 2g. I want to join the DSM fam. Already in the Evo fam 🔥
I would change final drive ratio.

440whp/413tq
Awesome im hoping to push my eclipse to 390 maybe

Most efficient mod I’ve done is an engine rebuild 😂
DSMlink
FP Red
Injectors and regulator and rewire
exhaust
wide band
FMIC
Proper 👌🏼
Coming from a drag racer look at it
Tijuana 🤘🏼...
Engine build 850 hp suspension wheels body mods and wheels
That’s more than 5 mods mang 🙂
I’m still tryna find my 99 GSX 😞
They used to be so common. Sad to see them go extinct over the last 10 years
