amazing ! i am geting a 4G eclipse as my 2nd car (they are very rare in Europe) and i plan on doing kinda the same, some nice interior mods, external mods, i still wish i could buy a 2G one day tho, they are realy the best eclipse.

Of course. The gsx is only a small percentage of the eclipse family tree though. The 3g/4g crossover never held the same hype as the 1g/2g
@@MiguelDsm yeah, its the people that riced them out and mitsubishi with the commercials and other models and generations that made the eclipse look bad. A clean 2g is a really good starter vehicle if you wanna have fun and make power

A 2g gsx was an amazing starter car but yes, the commercials made it seem like it was for women, but really the gsx competed with rx7s, evos, stis, gtis, 240sx, 300zx, 3000gts and even supras. And it honestly looks way better than golf gtis, hondas or any other car its size. Especially a nice clean one but ppl had to rice them out lol
Friend of mine bought new 95 eagle turbo/awd auto and another friend had new 95 mustang gt 5 speed manuel 5.0 and eagle would walk away everytime from mustang but the U.P.S. guy had a 93 300zx twin turbo 5 speed and he beat us everytime in the eagle old 300zx 90-96 were very fast bsck then
As much as i want a gsx i think my next car will be a Mitsubishi starion i have a gs and a gst spyder but somthing about a rear wheel drive starion thats where its at

Yeah Mr. Miguel i was mad when Mitsubishi came out with a crossover and called it an eclipse. To me that's an insult you can't build a crossover or suv and then take a name from a well name sports car from the same manufacturer and then call it Eclipse that just stupid. Its just like what Ford did with the Mustang name they came out with an Suv and slapped the name Mustang on it which i really don't understand what they were thinking. I will not buy a Ford ever again because I own a 06 Ford Explorer or "Exploder" because of the amount of stupid engineering that was put into the motor and transmission. I know this first hand because of the numerous maintenance issues I went thru with it over the years since I own it and still own it till this day because it was passed down from my dad which he bought brand new from the Ford dealership at that time and he was the first owner on the vehicle. Other than stupid branding on the newer cars I still till this day won't buy a brand new car or any year over 2003. 2003 is the latest year I have which is 03 Hyundai Tiburon Gt. I also own a 1998 Eclipse GSt and the 2006 Ford Explorer 4.3L V6 XLS

If I could still find one that's not abused and well taking care of preferably in stock form not modified it would be a 1G 92-94 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX or 1G 92-94 Eagle Talon TSI AWD or a 92-94 Plymouth Laser Turbo AWD

Fantastic and informative video. Like I've said before, I'm a Honda guy with an absolute admiration for the DSM/Mitsubishi platforms but I don't know the trims, face-lifts, etc like I do with the Hondas. I appreciate you breaking it down.

This is still my dream car from way back when I saw it in The Fast and the Furious about 20 years ago.
One of the first cars I can even remember seeing and it really stood out. The design is just so cool and 90's and timeless at the same time. This and the 3000GT are both my dream cars, just so 90's and cool looking.
I unfortunately have a 3g eclipse but I am okay with it tho I can’t really do much with it but I’m happy with it :)

Back when fast and the furious came out, the eclipse gsx was my dream car, and then the evo came out that became my dream car. It definitely is still one I would like to own. It's weird. I went the opposite way and bought an 07 STi. I still love dsm, but it's hard to find them not beat to crap.

I just started a 4G eclipse build. I can see what youre talking about with barely any aftermarket support, but I think the 4G v6 could be an amazing project if you out enough time and effort in. Also a lot of money, shit is expensive
Got my 95 gs for $700. Not in the greatest condition but I’ve gotten her almost ready for the road.
I always loved the look of the 2g Eclipse, but steered clear of the crankwalk monster. Anything after 2g looks awful, and didn't preform worth a shit.
I just picked up a dsm 03 eclipse rs with 81k miles for around 7k Sadly it has the 4g64 and not the 4g63

A local shop here crushed a 2gb rs😭. I saw it driving by one day and figured i was gonna stop by sometime to check out the story on it, potentially get some parts for my gst (it had lots of good cosmetic parts from what i saw). And the other day i was gonna stop by and it was sitting on a trailer crushed.😠

4g63 if I'm not mistaken that was the baddest turbo motors back in the day. I was always an "all motor" guy with a b18c! Great memories I'll NEVER forget!
Yeah because it doesn't take much to make those motors fast with simple aftermarket performance bolt on parts.

Probably around $22,000 to $27,000. Just to compete against the Honda Civic, BRZ/GT86, and Miata.

I think a lot of the hate for the 2g non turbo guys came from the fact that back in the day the forums were flooded with people who couldn't afford a turbo dsm but wanted the speed and were asking how to make their cars as fast as the turbo cars. There's no problem with trying to make the non turbo faster, the problem is if you don't have the money to buy the turbo model over the non turbo back then, you didn't have enough money to make a non turbo as fast as a turbo. I know I got super burnt out on all the threads asking how to turbo a non turbo for way less money than what's possible. I think they deleted most of those threads so you won't see the true volume if you go back and look today, but it was pretty rampant.
I can see that happening as it still somewhat happens on the Facebook groups today. I don’t think it’s 2g specific though. Other platforms with the turbo variants have their owners that want fast and cheap in the same sentence
You can turbo any car it depends how far you willing to go with it and money to throw at it. You can make the non turbo 2G dsm fast but its not going to be as fast and efficient as a dsm that has a turbo in it. You're best cheap alternative for making the non turbo car to go fast is throw nitrous at it but then again you have to think about the other supporting mods like fuel pump, injectors, timing and etc.
I used to have a Mitsubishi Eclipse, it was my mom’s originally and it sat there until I got my license. Long story short, someone hit me and it was considered total, my dad got rid of it without me knowing and I’ve been trying to find another one since then. I can’t seem to really find a gsx or even gst, would you recommend waiting til I can finally find one or getting gs and making it turbo?

I don't race so I've enjoyed my '02 ragtop GS Spyder, Guinness, for 22 years now. It's my beach and scenic drive car and have a hard time letting go of it though many people think I should. I call it my miracle car because it's got 235K miles and runs like new.

Fun lesser known fact - Eclipse 2g GS in Europe had N/A 4g63 instead of 420a , basically being gst without a turbo , even the chassis code is same as gst - D32 instead of D31

There are places you can still get DSM parts and whole lot of support such places as STM.
I definitely agree with everything you I have a Mitsubishi eclipse GST spider it is unbelievable in it's power.. it's absolutely breaks my heart knowing that so many of them are just being crushed on a daily basis. I have so many people wanting to buy my car and everyone I I say no

My first car was a 95 eagle talon esi I got for 1,200 I’ve been wanting another ever since
ive got an awd 1g laser and i love it, i blew a headgasket over a year ago and just drained the oil and coolant and oiled the cylinders to prevent it from seizing and its just sat. This video makes me want to get it running again. i doubt i even warped anything just need a new headgasket and maybe a sanding block lol.

I have a 90 eagle talon TSI AWD. No power options and no rear wiper or cruise. Replacing my turbo as we speak.
