Ew. No? I’m confused as to Why you think this would be a good idea? What about crono trigger would somehow enhance Mother? Looking like Dragonball? No. Playing like Final Fantasy? No. Written like Dragon Quest? No.

Mother is good as it is. Only Itoi could come up with ideas that scream Earthbound. And if he doesn’t want to do it again, people just need to leave the series as it is. Meanwhile there are plenty of indies and fan games to fill the gap!
Honestly a Earthbound and Chrono Trigger crossover wouldn't fundamentally work at all. There is just too many differences between them to make it not forced!
@@TristanLackey I'm not saying a crossover I'm just saying if some people from the Chrono team worked with HAL on an Earthbound sequel it might do even stronger in certain areas compared to the original Earthbound.
you should start putting the title of the game you’re showing video of in the corner so it doesn’t confuse people , its weird when you’re talking about a game called “Flux” but have Billy Hatcher gameplay in the background .. just doesn’t mix

Sucks Itoi rejected the pitch, but yeah not much could be done there since when it comes to Earthbound "if Itoi says no then that means no," even if Iwata was the one who was trying to help get the project off the ground.

@@JakeRanney I'd honestly rather it look like Smash Bros or Persona Q, but yeah, it'd be really cool to have an Earthbound Triology remake, especially if the Three games use the Mother 3 gameplay and are rebalanced to fit.
Honestly it's sad when such possibly amazing games get cancelled. even sadder when you realize that we'll possibly never get to play them
Unless they somehow still keep prototypes of the game and such which could be accessed and salvaged by fans

At least the Kirby game got released eventually, first heavily reworked into Triple Deluxe and then in its more or less original form as Star Allies.
All this Mario Sunshine footage looks so clean
Never really realised how good the game actually looks.
Character models, water, and light effects still look decent, but it's got some REALLY muddy textures that were sub-par even by the standards of the time of its release.
Most game cube games still look absolutely fantastic even today such an underrated machine
The game being shown should be labelled, cause I was never sure when I was looking at the game you were talking about or random footage unless I happened to know the game.
I miss my GameCube. Switch needs to start emulating stuff. The potential for nostalgia buying is ridiculous. They limit only themselves.
I remember reading a promo for Four Horsemen in a copy of Tips and Tricks magazine back in 2003. I was so hype for it to come out, but it never did.

In these videos sometimes there are cases where I'm unsure if the footage being shown is of said unreleased game or from another game. I recommend you label what game's footage is being shown similar to how you credit footage/images by their respective users/sites so it's clear what is shown.

I'm not sure if it's a common thought, but I can't help but suggest that these videos are in desperate need of pauses... You go from one topic to another so quickly that it's easy to lose concentration. Give viewers a chance to think of what facts they were just told by pausing in between topics. It's important to give periods their proper timing.
But what would be done during these pauses? Idk I don't find it hard to follow
You know I don't blame Swingin' Ape Studios for taking Blizzard up on that offer but as a guy who loved Metal Arms it's a shame that they never got to make that sequel.

I feel bad for them. They cancelled what likely would've been a highly anticipated sequel to make *another* game that would get cancelled. I wonder what would've happened if they just stuck with the MA sequel.

These games could’ve been something I grew up with, I like to think about what that would’ve been like
Imagine if that Earthbound/Mother game did come out, the amount of people playing it might have kept the series alive even if it was just niche

Honestly a lot of these games sound really interesting, don't know how some of them would sell but I would love to try them. It just sucks how many games didn't make it due to not finding a publisher. Really shows how hard it is to sell a new IP.
For real!! It's even worse nowadays, it seems like 90% of games being released are reboots, remakes/remasters/reimaginings, or sequels. Rarely are new innovative IP's released, makes me sad to be honest.
The Monster Island project would've been amazing. Let's hope a project like this comes back in some way!
Minor thing, but you know what I love about this channel? That I always learn something new about a game.
Besides Earthbound (which was never even started so it can't be called "cancelled") surely no one really is sorely missing any of these titles here. They all look like the typical 6/10 at best stuff that was everywhere in the PS2/GC/Xbox era.

Some really good concepts in here. Real shame to hear that none of these will ever fully develop.
Looking back at a lot of these, several promising games seemed to fizzle due to lack of publisher wanting to pick it up. It really makes me glad for all the indie programs and digitally distribution channels available for self-publishing games nowadays

Twilight princess was going to be a sequel to Wind Waker but due to the complaints of wind wakers art style it was repurposed into what it is today.
Honestly, Wind Waker’s art style wasn’t that bad, just different.

I realize and sympathize that there's going to be very little footage -- if any -- of cancelled games. But you really need to make it EXPLICIT when you're showing a video clip not related to what's being discussed. That was incredibly confusing. :P

Gameplay of many other games is pretty distracting when you're also talking about games. It's hard to determine when the footage is coming from the game, since you are also showing images and footage from those games you're talking about.

We often think about big game studios like Rockstar, Ubisoft, Naughty Dog, etc etc. But there are a lot of game studios trying to break in the industry but didn't make it.
How hard was it to get dev kits for the gamecube?
