- Springfield Armory XDM Elite series is the newest in the XD line up. Will it change my mind on how I feel about full size Springfield Armory pistols?

The most accurate gun IMO. I have it in .45ACP and it has become my EDC

I have 2 older XD’s and love them. I have a 3.8 XDM Elite in10mm and like it even better. All shoot accurately.

I found the the xdm elite 9mm 3.8 at sportsman's warehouse a couple days ago. It went on sale for 349.99 plus tax. So I figured it may be a upgrade to my Taurus G3 so I bought one.

I bought XD-M Elite Compact OSP 3.8 in 9mm in 2023 on a promotion sale (came with a nice gun bag and five 14+1 magazines and the hex dragonfly optic) for $650 dollars. I didn’t care for the optic (did not have shake-awake and bottom loading battery). The pistol does use optic plates (RMR, shield and doctor/noblex) which all came with the promotion sale as well. I took off the Hex Dragonfly and put on a Meprolight MPO-F muti-recticle and this pistol shoots fantastic. I have put about over 1000 rounds from 115 grain to 158 grain and NO issues. This pistol has become my EDC.
Just received your hybrid holster for this xdm...absolutely love it...comfortable and the retention is very secure...the quality is impeccable especially for the price point...will be ordering one for my xmacro but I have the wilson combat xl grip...have to make sure it will work..extremely happy with your work.

I have a full size xdm and love everything about it except the weight. We pack in hunting in the mountains and the weight is the only factor that makes me think about going with a glock. But the XDM shoots so well and it is so much more comfortable than the glock I am torn.

This xdme in 10mm is my favorite pistol. They did good by making this gun accept many optics. But it uses a plate system which is now outdated by Springfield themselves with a new mount system. But still a good system. I can put any bullet in this gun and it shoots it. I don't have to worry about chamber support because this gun has a fully supported chamber which glock and FN and others do not. I love the extra safety on the grip and as you said, don't even notice it. In my opinion it is the best " out of the box" compact 10mm at this time.

I personally prefer the plates to the new echelon system, but that’s just me.

@@muddyrivertactical i have no complaints about the plates but i think everybody will eventually have their owne system of mounting multiple red dot sights. Springfield just started up their package deal again where you get 5 mags and a range bag. I might have to get a new pistol. 😁

Most of my weapons are springfield. I love the xds, and the xdm series. I have the xdme full size and now the 3.8. Both of them shoot very well IMHO. Springfield has definitely improved thier builds
How is the 3.8 as far as working the slide. I'm getting my daughter a gun for her birthday and she has had an issue in the past, working the slide on some guns.
I haven't had any issues at all with the slide or with any ammunition I use

I haven't seen it. I never shot a IWI weapon. I'll have to look it up
@williamclayjackson9883 I saw a vid of it. I called the company and they can't tell me where to buy one down here. Weird huh?
Said to call their distributors on their website list. The mosada slim is about a year old.
I got a Springfield 1911 several years a go, but I thought there were better choices than their XD. I did get the Springfield Echelon which I really like so I think Springfield is improving in their polymer offerings.

Good review except for the not having an optic on your weapon being behind the 8 ball part. Never depend on any electronic devices including flashlight and lasers which are subject to fail at the wrong time.

Great pistols
Actually all the XD pistols I have owned (7 ) have been extremely dependable…
I actually owned a XD .. before they were imported by Springfield..
the HS-2000 …
The XD9 , XD40 ,XD357 & 45 have all been fantastic
Definitely .. quality as good as any .
Triggers on the Elite models are as good as the CZ P -10 series pistols .. and only is bested by the Walther PCP
As I mentioned.. the XD series quality is as good as it gets ..
I have owned at least one HS Produkt in the past 23 years
My nephew purchased a XD357 and has run literally thousands of miles upon thousands of rounds through it close to 15K .. replaced the RSA with a XD40 RSA after a decade of heavy use
Maybe not the most handsome pistol out there .. but a man would be hard pressed to find one better ..
I have an XD .45 that I've polished the internals, changed the sights, and trigger on. I also have a .40 XD that I did similar treatment to for my wife and I just picked up an XDM 9mm. I have always liked the XD because you have to pick it up with the intention of shooting it for it to fire. The triggers are EH and the sights on the XD aren't the best but easy enough to fix.

The grip safety is a big plus for me for concealed carry. You can use it in such a way when you are reholsering or even pulling the gun out of the holster to preven a negligent discharge if you catch part of your shirt or draw string accidentally. It also prevents a discharge when bending over in the case that the holster fails such as happened in the famous glock 43 discharge in the guys pants. Although in my testing, it is possible to engage the grip safety when bending over if carrying in appendix.

Are you familiar with the most common causes in police departments and very experience users? They are mostly negligent, yes, but are easily preventable with a grip safety. Experience would validate the obvious benefit grip safety, but then provide reasons why you choose not use one. That's fine. Everyone has to choose for themselves weighing the pro's and cons.
I have the 45 acp version of this gun. Recoil is not bad. Feels about the same as my Glock 21. The only thing I don't like about it is the grips. I but talon grips on it and problem solved. Does your holster fit the 45 acp version xdm elite 3.8 too? I think they are the same dimensions. I really like this gun.

Same here . This gun is a blast to shoot and is pretty darn accurate.
As a skinny short guy… im looking for a holster that is helpful with concealment,, i like your leather one but ive noticed leather holsters are not that good with not printing and that kydex is better.. any suggestions please? Thx

i love this gun and i want the compact and the full size pistol but i think they have a magazine that holds more. i have a big hand so i need it to be flush in my hands i like to be comfortable and not having hand fatigue

Is it hard to put the 19 rnd mag in ? Mines is hard when I loaded all the 19rnds it’s kind oh hard
Load magazine with 18 rounds.
Lock slide back.
Insert magazine.
Send slide home.
Drop magazine.
Insert one more round, top off to 18 rds in mag. ☆

They're heavy and chunky and feel great in your hand. A little too big to carry every day but the 10mm is the perfect woods gun.
The way u fell about the old xd is the way I fell about glocks,
