I own an LCP Max and as of yesterday a Bodyguard 2.0. I want to make it clear to people since there aren't many comparison videos yet. There is no competition. The Bodyguard 2.0 is a better gun in just about every way. The Bodyguard 2.0 has a much lower bore axis and allows you to really choke up on the side. The two guns are the same height but I can almost fit three full fingers on the grip of the Bodyguard 2.0 and my pinky hangs off of the LCP Max. The trigger on the Bodyguard is better, you hit a nice solid wall and then a crisp break, the LCP isn't bad but is a little spongier. Overall, recoil is much less noticeable for the Bodyguard and it more pushes into your hand than flips up like the LCP, making for much faster follow up shots. You can find both for about the same price. The Bodyguard 2.0 is also tighter fitting if that matters to you. The LCP sounds like a maraca when you shake it but the Bodyguard has almost no play. Also, the Bodyguard is just a much prettier gun (not a functional thing of course, but the LCP Max just looks a bit goofy).
Just picked mine up to replace my LCP Max and yes to everything you said. It’s an excellent micro pistol. My wife said it’s cute because it’s a scaled down version of her Shield Plus😂

@joer8386 You caught me lol. Don't work for S&W, just excited about this as pretty much the best pocket pistol I have seen or tried. I will say the LCP Max was really smart with how rounded the rear was. That said, the Bodyguard 2.0 is also relatively rounded (not quite as muchas the LCP) and is thinner. I don't tend to pocket carry much, so I don't practice drawing from the pocket, but I think it would still be relatively minimal snagging.

❤❤❤ love mine, 300 rounds thru it, both flat nose FMJ (Winchester) and Federal, rounds. No problems with either ammo. Even alternated flat nose and the rounds. Only minor complaint is I can't get the 12th round in 12 round magazine
Great review! I went to my local store today to see if they had the Bodyguard 2.0, but they didn't. On another note, did you get the mag out of the truck bed?
I was able to pick us up for 399 and didn't even hesitate. Bought it the second I saw it. It's weird because it's only 50 bucks but at 449 I would have hemmed and hawed a bit and looked at other options.
That is the nicest 380 that looks and feels like a real auto. but you lose one and 1/8 inches off my Glock 43x barrel, and losing some weight still a good 380 might pick one up as an extra option for EDC I’m a fan of flat face triggers I have Apex kits in all mine love them

I own one also along with many others your talking maybe a .7 difference in length and a slight weight reduction so would you give up your 43x and the ballistics for the 380 it has options for sure and it a great design from smith and I’m sure they will sell a lot of them. But I have a open mind I’m not a one side coin such as your self I look at all considerations and for someone who’s been dealing with firearms for over 30 year I look at cost of ammo functions reliability and scenarios in which I would carry it as we both support the 2nd I will not engage in tit for tat everyone can have there fair assumptions in what they think. I just want to let someone know that I watched a guy do a review on that gun versus the LCP max and his groupings with the 2.0 were just about touching bullets they were so tight What was really weird. The guy had shooting gloves on and steel may tighten groups with the 2.0. Smith and Wesson did their homework on this pistol.
All the reviews Ihave seen do not show the ambisafety version. I would not carry it advise anyone to carry a striker fired pistol with a 3 1/2 -4 lb trigger, in a pocket holster without one.
Most pocket holsters are not kydex . My opinion and I stand by it. If you watched the recent video of the female Secret Service agent during the attempted Trump assassination fumbling while trying to reholster her pistol in a kydex holster

I haven’t tried pocket carrying in as I am not a fan of pocket carry. I have compared pistols themselves though and the bodyguard 2.0 is a clear winner and it’s not even close in my opinion
@@muddyrivertactical Yeah, but the reason for a "pocket" pistol is to have in your pockets or a bag. You need to draw that pistol without anything impeding it. When I carry inside the waistband, I carry a compact 9 that also disappears.For me, the pocket pistol is made as a last resort, "get away from me" gun or for quick trips. Your opinion is different than mine and that’s fine, I am glad it works for you! That’s the beauty of living in the world of options we have now! Main point is no matter opinion is to train and be prepared with whatever setup you decide is right for you. The point of small pistols ( pocket size pistols ) for me is a lightweight small options to conceal inside the waistband when wearing summer cloths or it gets tough to hide a bigger pistol. I don’t pocket carry and don’t recommend it for a multitude of reasons but biggest being you are always at risk of hanging up out of a pocket, it’s a slower and more awkward draw, or risk you drawing pistol and holster all together. Like any other new model gun that just appeared on the market, I suggest wait a while before you buy for any defects or recalls to come to light. Let someone else be the beta tester.

I've already seen some videos about the ones with the manual safety being RMA'd. It was not from one of my trusted guntubers so I take it with a grain of salt , but you make a really good point.
And the LCP Max has a rounded back which is made for pulling out of pockets without it getting snagged. The flatter shape of my original Bodyguard made it slower for me to pull out of certain pockets. I am wondering how this one will do.

uhh, just FYI, Glock 43x is 9mm (I own one) with 3.4 " barrel, Bodyguard 2.0 is 380 ACP with 2.75" barrel. Your math is slightly flawed.

I've slow fired my BG2.0 at seven yards into a two inch groups.

Absolutely right. This needs a kydex pocket holster. Or, I'm going to get the version with the external safety. That version is on Smith's website.

With a good inside the waistband holster either disappears and have no discomfort since they are so small

I ran mine with HP rounds and it's fine. The only ammo it choked on was Underwood Extreme Defense 68 grain ammo.
