I was able to purchase one of this xdm elite compact in 45acp last June of 2023. Absolutely love the gun and have really enjoyed shooting it, easily went through 300 rounds that day without cleaning and oiling the firearm. The one thing I truly love about the gun is how easy it is to shoot, and it came with 6 magazines. I was so happy as soon as I found out about it. Very happy with firearm!😊

Picked one up with the hex optic for $499. Absolutely love it, and the gun has made me fall in love with .45acp. I always called it a boomer round. Guess I’m a boomer now.

It's so refreshing to hear a review where the shooter doesn't want a bunch of optics and suppressor-height sights and threaded barrel bullshit on a CARRY GUN. People seemed to have lost the definition of what it means to be a carry gun......easy to carry and not complicated.
For me, I have small hands, so I'm hoping my pinky finger fits okay on that mag well. But I haven't handled one yet.
    Thanks for the review!

@@banjoskip Unfortunately I have not. Still debating on getting one, compounded by the fact that now I'm waiting to hear from my local DA about any possible charges regarding a fight I got in with my sister. I'm not expecting any, but I still want to be certain before I fill out a 4473.

@@banjoskip Yes, the magwell comes off with the removal of one pin. The mag baseplate can also be swapped out for a flush one, but that one can't be used with the magwell and you lose one round of capacity. I've been carrying the 10mm for quite a while and just picked up the .45 a few weeks ago. With the exception of the 10, the Elites have been discontinued and discounted nicely. I got mine for $359.

I just bought this pistol yesterday in 45 asp, also my favorite cartridge. I agree, I have no use for a red dot or Lazer on a gun either. I just ordered a Wright Leather Works leather holster for it. Over the years I have ordered 8 holsters from them as they make an outstanding holster. 5-7 weeks from now this pistol will replace an XDs Mod 2 45 acp that has been in my carry rotation for the last 4 years. The only gripe about the XDs is the 5-7 round single stack mags that come with it. This XDm Elite will allow me not to have to carry an additional mag when I carry it like the XDs.

Really liked this video. I’m partial to the 45ACP as well and I carry a Colt Defender most of the time. The Defender is reliable but I’d add a few qualifiers to that. The 3” 1911 in 45ACP is not necessarily an easy gun to shoot. It requires discipline and a seriously stable grip for the gun to cycle and eject properly. So that’s primarily why I’d consider the XDM Elite. I also own an HK45C that is nearly perfect but there is room for something in my collection larger than the Defender and smaller than the HK.

Just shot my XDM today. Really impressed with the weapon overall. I was raised on 1911's so the Grip Safety went totally unnoticed.
Those U shaped rear sites were my main concern. They turned out to be excellent out to 25 yards. I have to lock in my aiming points as it does print higher . The 6 o'clock hold worked pretty well past 10 yards.
The front sites aren't that good for my old eyes. One issue was my aiming points were red orange and the red tude just blended in. Once turn the target around and used some black tape as an aiming point, all was well. I may change out the sites once I do some more research.
All mags ( including used ones worked well) . My XD came with ( 2) 9 rounders. I didn't top them off but will take your recommendation on loading 10. I picked up some used 13 rounders with sleeves.
I have the #1 sleeves , so must use the #1 backstrap. I may have to find some #3 sleeves , as I have bigger hands and want to try the largest BS. I removed the magwell.
Only about 50 rounds shot but pistol performed as advised. I currently carry a Glock 30 S and won't be changing yet. The Glock 30 is almost the same size as this XDM. Not a Glock Fan Boy , just I know this weapon too well and it simply works!
This is my second XD ( I think lol) . That trigger is excellent out the box. I shot my little Canik ( SC) also to attempt to compare triggers. That TP9 trigger is very well designed and smooth. XM is right up there so far.
    Nice video.

It hits where the Dot is ( if I.do my part with the trigger).

They hold 15 rounds in the full size, just like the 10mm, you're lucky you found one because in time its going to go up in value. All the match grade parts for the money try that with Glock and you'll be $1200 into the pistol maybe more

You just have to know Springfield, sounds like you may of just started looking into them or just got one. Not sure why anyone would want a .45 now a days when my Underwood +P+ for 9mm will open up much bigger then the .45 if they even open up, some ammo have a lighter jacket and cut the lines for them to open up on slower speeds like the HST's I wouldn't shoot anything else out of a .45 but like I said why go .45 when you have 10mm it's superior in every which way!

I bought the it about 2 months ago when it was on sale and came with a range bag and a total of 4 mags. As far as only three rounds the XDS only carries 5+1 with a flush mag and the XDM carries 10+1 with a flush fit mag, almost double the capisity. As far as the Red Dot goes, I am old school and have used Iron Sights my entire life and see no need for a Red Dot or Laser.

What kind of price on the gun

Compare the parts of the 2 pistols LOL the slide cut alone makes up the cost difference then add the match trigger and match barrel. Glock does it on purpose so you buy all your upgrades then you'll be into a pistol for $1200!! Such a mess Glock needs to get their game together I have been done with them, can't stand the way they treat their loyal customers

@@slickydicky Is the rule that it's OK to point a gun at oneself, so long as it is "clear"?
I guess that sort of thing works for people who never, ever make a mistake, but 99.999999% of people make mistakes sometimes, and thus we have the first rule of gun safety.

@myblacklab7 it was 100% verified to be clear by the user. Who was by himself. Stop being a armchair range officer. You sound lame

@@slickydicky So the first rule of gun safety is "Never point a gun at anything you don't intend to destroy, unless you're sure that the gun is unloaded?"
I don't think you understand the point of the first rule of gun safety. You shouldn't point a gun at anyone ever, because you want your muscle memory to be trained perfectly to never shoot anyone you don't intend to shoot. If you sometimes point guns at yourself or others, you're doing it wrong.

I've been a fan of the 45 cal for sometime, that said Springfield firearms are not going to let you down in my opinion. I have and carry a Springfield in the 45 for along time they are great guns. Springfield firearms are just going to go bang when you want or need them to. They hit what you piont them at everytime as well. That said, with all firearms you need to take care of them, clean, oil them after evey uses, this is what I have been taught. I own many of Springfield sidearms as well firearms. In my opinion you can't do much better for the price point and quality guys. The quality is there, customer service is there at least this is what I have found. So if you're thinking about getting a new firearm take a look at the Springfield line up and decide for yourself. Sorry for the rant guys, God Bless .
