that is not the point of this video, this is for people that want to code their car to be able to start in any gear, i know that you can do that with inpa, and this is for people that because of hydraulic fluid leak get stuck in certain gear wont be able to start car anymore if its stuck in 1 or reverse or 2 gear. In case of low hydraulic fluid you wont be able to kick in neutral with inpa and therefore you wont be able to start the car
@@techgeek2994 hey man I have a e60 m5 smg transmission, I replaced smg pump, clutch, clutch release fork, and throw out bearing when I first got the car 11 months ago, 4 months ago I had to change the slave cylinder, yesterday I replaced the slave cylinder again I bled the system and car was driving perfectly fine then out of nowhere transmission light came on and got stuck in 2nd gear when I came to a complete stop the car just died and won’t go into neutral (dash light blinks) I tried putting it in neutral using ista and it’s not going into neutral I can’t even get the car towed any suggestions? I’d really appreciate it
@@differentvibes8200 what i think is you have leak somewhere, i had same problems and i would always solve it by topping up hydraulic fluid , you can do it yourself just lift up the car and go under and find hole for topping up hydraulic fluid in. you can check in inpa how much is the pressure in the hydrauli unit how many bar. mine when it is full goes to 50 . But when mine was dropping down to 32 i knew i was missing fluid . Ps mine was leaking on slave cylinder . Check the pressure in inpa and let me know how much is pressure
@@techgeek2994 thanks for the getting back to me , since I owned this car all the things I mentioned I’ve done myself with other things I can’t check the pressure and I can’t put the gear in manual thru ista it says “test program canceled “ and I’ve never experienced this before
@@jayobama9582 not from bmw dealer i send my clutch cylinder to one guy that has bmw garage and he has guy that repairs them. so i dont know where does he gets them
i used inpa to open the clutch and then put the clutch into neutral :) works all the time

My 04 e46 smg not starting ( showing gear symbol) ( f ⚙️ 1) and it’s also stuck in first. Can’t get it out 1st .
you are low on fluid or your cylinder failed or pump

Where did you get your replacement SMG slave cylinder?
i didnt replace whole cylinder i replaced seal parts so it dont leak anymore
