    UPDATE: Eight Sleep's Pod 2 or 3 is going to be your best bet moving forward. It looks like SleepMe is no longer selling any of their products but they haven't formally announced anything (I'm not sure whether the company is being bought or liquidated, but something is going on). I'll provide an update if I hear anything!
    And free to use the code BALANCINGLAURA to get $50 off the Eight Sleep! 😊

      Since you have both, would it be possible to connect the 8sleep cover to the Dock-Pro system? My Dockpro cover started leaking (I think one of the cats got at it) and since Chilli sleep is out of business getting a new cover is not an option but currently spending the 2700 on an all new system is not really in the cards right now, from what I have seen the connectors look the same but its hard to tell from pictures.

      I just noticed that Dock Pro is now finally available again. They have been acquired by another entity

      Just an FYI, SleepMe is under new ownership and back in business. Which is good for me because my original Chili cube finally ran into an issue and I've been wanting to upgrade to one of the newer ones anyways so I'm about to order one.

    This is a great, in-depth review. I felt strong in my decision to go with the 8 Sleep. I even went to the website to look it up and order. Then I saw the "Monthly Subscription" requirement in order to use the features! 😠 WHY do companies do this?! I mean, I know why $$$. It's just sad.
    YOU did everything right and gave an awesome review. It's just a bummer that companies do this stupid money grab on an already expensive product.

    so, you must pay $2300 for the Eight Sleep product and then they rent out the usage for $15/$24 per month? What an absolute joke!!!!

    Interesting. I also had the Ooler, which worked great for 2 years and 3 months. The central unit stopped doing my sleep schedule about a week ago and refused to cool or warm. Then today while trying to reset it, I washed the pad for the 2nd time since I have had it. When I hooked it back up, it leaked everywhere. I have now bought the Eight Sleep unit and am so glad you did this review.

    What do you mean the oooler is dependent on the ambient temperature? How is it different than the other two? I love my ooler and it stays cold even in my hot house.

    Just found your channel! Notice you did some workout videos, I was wondering if you could do a Video on foot stretches and foot massages for pain in the feet after a marathon. Thank you!

    How much energy does it use ? I plan on doing solar power.
    Also side question. Have you ever found a good weighted sheet for very hot summers ? Ie. I thought about chain mail. But I think it might shift too much without being tapered down in some way. Weather stitched to some good bamboo sheet or elastic cords tethering it to bead. Any suggestions ??
    Subbed.. Love know you expertise.

    I wonder - can you use bedsheet instead duvet ? This would decrease temp of your body ?

      Thanks so much for the feedback! And yes, I'm a fan of having the physical buttons. If I turn on my phone in the middle of the night there's a good chance I'm going to have a harder time falling back asleep!

    I'd get the 8 sleep in a heart beat if I didn't have to connect it to wifi and my phone. I dont want any of the tracking nonsense. I work a rotating 4 week dupont so I don't have a normal sleep cycle. Probably going with the dock pro

    Eight Sleep heats up the bedroom because the pod blows out hot air into the room as it circulates and cool the water for the bed. If you have a hot room, then it'll get your room hotter.

  • @SonicOrbStudios
    @SonicOrbStudios ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'd have an hvac company correct the problem with that particular room

    • @dmiller9786
      @dmiller9786 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, and if not fixable a window AC is a much less expensive option. For sleep, window ACs make sense even with central AC. Ideally room temp is under 70F for sleep. Central AC isn't designed to go that low. Almost all research into sleep environments looks at air temp, not bed temp.

  • @BaronKoala

    Do you air condition your room in addition to the eight sleep or does it work with the eight sleep alone ?

    • @BalancingLaura
      @BalancingLaura  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use air conditioning in my room but the eight sleep doesn't require it. 😊

    The Ooler measures water temp, just like the other two. Not air temp. The Ooler is weaker and less appropriate for rooms with poor air conditioning and/or very large bodies, Ooler and Dockpro can be run with Home Assistant. Eightsleep can only feed history to home Assistant. Does Eightsleep require a subscription? I think this review underplays the importance of price differences for most people.

    • @kasunkandauda4593
      @kasunkandauda4593 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eightsleep does have a subscription. 17$/month minimum at least for the first year

  • @FirehawkVFX

    Now that eight sleep needs a subscription is a TOTAL deal breaker. Parasitism.

    The Oolers were absolute junk. I had 5 out of 6 units that were defective even after getting the "UPGRADED" version.

    • @dmiller9786
      @dmiller9786 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Ooler has been great for over two years. The Dockpro leaked after two weeks. The problem with both Ooler and Dockpro is the manufacturers customer service.
