    I’ve been contemplating buying one and I greatly appreciate your transparency of your review. I’m so tired of a subscription-based services. You can’t go anywhere without having to pay for a subscription now. And I think the general market is getting tired of them too. Believe me, I get it it’s an easy way to make money. It’s a shame a company that you had such a great professional relationship with is having so many issues now. I wouldn’t mind you doing a review of the Bed-jet since it’s a cheaper option. I've been on the hunt for climate controlled better sleep and it came down to the 8Sleep and SleepMe... I watched videos like this and decided to go with the Bedjet (cause it was much cheaper but I still spent approximately $900 for me and my wife to have it)
      Here's what I learned "the hard way": if you live in a hotter/more humid place it's NOT going to cool and it'll just be a fancy fan..
      What's "too hot" for it to not be able to cool? 79 degrees fahrenheit... and you have to be 2 or 3 degrees under that for it to be able to cool or your humidity has to be low (I'm in Hawaii which isn't TOO hot-not like Vegas or AZ- but we DO HAVE humidity from the moist air so the Bedjet can't cool like at all)
      So now me and my wife are on the verge of returning it (I will give them credit for a 60 day trial) and getting ready to bite the bullet for the darn $2400 PLUS EXTRA HAWAII SHIPPING (8Sleep WILL NOT ship to me so I have to send it to a mainland friend first... Bedjet and SleepMe WILL send to Hawaii for what it's worth)
      So $2500+ is a HEFTY spend for me, but as everyone knows QUALITY sleep is priceless

      @@BrandonTalbot and to give more info about WHEN it can cool (given the temp is under 76-79 degrees) you can Google "what humidity do evaporative coolers work in".
      Feel free to check, but they really only work as advertised UNDER 30% humidity with diminished performance at 50%.. and basically NOTHING above that...
      So if someone is in SPECIFIC climates... Maybe it'll work for them

What I won't do, though, is pay an additional $300/yr to use it. I'm just going to have to watch YT videos to figure out how to fix my Ooler. The website says buying the "pro" subscription (annually) for $288 gives you a 5 year warranty. They also say you can cancel after you bought that first year...
    So if I bought that first year then cancelled and never got the monthly plan again... Would I still be covered for 4 more years after purchase (for 5 years total) or do they want me to have an active subscription the whole time? Or to have an active subscription at the time you make a warranty claim?

      @@avinsamaroo1317I'm a super hot sleeper that will leave the bed soaked with sweat by morning and the Bedjet has been amazing! You definitely need to get it with the cloud sheet that they sell if you're going to try it though. It distributes the air way better instead of just blowing on your feet. I also found that I only need to set it to 73 degrees and 30% fan speed (can barely feel it) to keep me from getting hot and sweating. I thought I would need to put it to like max speed and 70 degrees, but that ended up being way too cold.
      One thing I really love about it is how quickly it changes temperature. I can set it to 100 and it'll get up to that in 30 seconds. I can then drop it back to 70 and a minute later it's cool again. It's great for when I want to jump in a nice warm bed (feels so cozy, like sheets out of the dryer) and then quickly want to cool it. With water based systems that takes considerably longer to do. The remote is also really good and super easy to adjust fan speed or temp without even having to look at it at night. The phone app is also great and makes setting custom schedules really easy.
      Best part of all is I got it through Bedjet's refurb store so the cost for everything was only $370. That plus no subscription and no chance of leaks is what really sold me on trying it. Overall, I highly recommend it and can't say enough good things.

  • @LoopyChew
    @LoopyChew 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I don’t know. I’m the one that sleeps hot and my wife cannot stand it when I try to cool things down (can’t even turn on a ceiling fan). However, I cannot for the life of me justify the 8sleep’s subscription, not to mention the fact that it doesn’t work offline.
    The Dock Pro is the only option of the two that makes any reasonable sense to me. If it breaks, at least it’s hackable, I guess?
    I’m also afraid that it all future sleep regulation systems, air, water or otherwise, are going to go subscription model. And I cannot, CANNOT abide by that. I missed out on the Oura Ring 2 and resigned myself to six bucks a month on the 3, and lord knows if I get N&D’d on ANOTHER thing for a good night’s sleep…

    • @BrandonTalbot
      @BrandonTalbot  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you looked at BedJet? Might not work with and individualized approach but worth a look. Here’s my opinion, if you aren’t sleeping well you’re paying for that too. Someways are obvious; some not so much. I understand subscriptions suck, but you’re already paying for some. Some are worth it, some aren’t and money isn’t usually the deciding factor. Instantly improving your sleep by a large margin over a long period of time, trust me you’ll look back and say “I’m being fleeced for this, but I can’t live without it now.” That’s how I feel about these systems.

      @@BrandonTalbot BedJet DOES have individualized compartments so it's worth investigating.
      I've heard lots of good about 8Sleep and I'm in a position where I think I could actually afford it. Something about water-based cooling seems infinitely more appealing to me than air-based cooling (even if I don't watercool my own computers...yet).
      Honestly I think the part that throws me off with 8Sleep is the always-on requirement. Subscriptions are one thing, but I have Comcast and, well...Comcast. I get that the Internet connection crapping the bed (pun maybe not intended?) basically means I go back to the sleep I've had for the last who knows how long, but if I can't consistently get performance from a thing I both fork over $2.5K *and* $144/yr for, then why am I paying for either?

    Avoid BEDJET... I am returning mine because it is NOT a cooling device. It uses the AMBIENT temperature of the room and then just blows that air into the bed. That means IF i want to take advantage of the low temp (which goes down to 66), during the summer I would have to turn my WHOLE HOUSE AIR CONDITIONER down. Boy talk about expensive to operate!!!
