Well okay, the way you phrased that was kind of alarming. It just means that the filament sensor won't work if you're not feeding through it, but it's not like it breaks it permanently to just not use it, I assume
I have 2 K1 machines and a K1 Max and, fortunately, I've never used glue on either build plate. I just wipe with an alcohol wipe between each print and I've never had a print fail due to not sticking. There a company called id that makes big packs of wipes (100 count, the size of baby wipes) that are 75% alcohol and they are perfect for these build plates.
@@LostInTech3D Ah, gotcha...I've yet to venture outside the space of PLA and TPU ...I've never had an issue with over sticking using these, thankfully.
@@LostInTech3D Oh man, PC-GF sticks to my K1C stock plate far better than I'd really like. It's the added glass I think, regular PC has the opposite sticktion issue for me. Wonderful performance on that material, little tricky finding the point that I make it past its heat deflection to get good layer adhesion.
I feel overall you better check the stock settings all the way around. Even the generic pla settings are way to hot. And magic arms are great ive got em holding crap all over the place.

Any other tips for petg? Pla seems the only thing they set a decent profile for speed though this thing is still crazy fast but I want detail like I had my settings on the ender 3 pro I sold
I use a twin size bed frame with one leg canted out to hold half a dozen rolls of filament above my K1C in my garage.
It worked after a few tries.
Magic arms can hold anything ^_^

Correct
This is exactly the reason I came to the comment section 👊

the glue on these modern plates is a release agent - without it you risk oversticking, especially with PETG

The stock settings are pretty hot but it's intentional, it matches the data on the sticker on the machine. I'm not sure why tho
hot for a reason. its to match the speed

Just change speed to 50? That's it?

@LostinTech3D Where do you get your filament?
all sorts of places, if you tell me which one, I will be more specific :)
All your tpu I can’t find a good source to get it and I want to try to print with it
depends what country you're in tbh, but noulei is available on amazon
Not on the first gen extruder tho
Only 2nd-4th
anyone with a 1st gen prolly needs to ask for a replacement
