    instead of using the micropore tape, is masking tape a good alternative?

    • @Kiwboard
      @Kiwboard 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What you would mostly like to be looking for is something that is relatively thin but isn't to sticky. There is a pretty unknown mod that people have done that involves food wrap on the wires similar to what is shown in the video. Masking tape doesn't seem like the best option because in my experience it is quite thick, but I am not 100% sure on that because I haven't tried. So just a breakdown I think that food wrap or plastic wrap (some people call it different things) and maybe even some scotch tape if you can find it thin enough. I haven't tried these so I am not certain but I am just giving my input, I hope this helps :)

    -hi, I want to consult about stuck/mushy stabs.
    So, I've bought the Durock Transparent Clear stabs (plate mount), it turns out that this Transparent Clear variant is a bit different than the Smokey Black and Tourmaline variant. This one happened to have rails inside of the housing, and the stem legs are shaped similarly to standard prebuilt stock stabs, but thicker so I don't think it's necessary to clip them. While the housings of the smokey black and tourmaline variant doesn't have any rails inside, and their stem legs are completely flat.
    Tbh, the rails are indeed good to reduce the stem vs housing rattle, but it seems to make it a bit stuck when placed at the spacebar as the rails made them too tight. I'm at a loss on how to overcome this. Currently I grabbed a pair of housing and stem from my still-not-used-yet Durock Tourmaline stab just for the spacebar stab. At fist, I thought it was the keycap, then I've also checked the spacebar wire, but then I tried them on four different keyboards of mine and they're all stuck the same due to the railings being too tightly pressed against the stem.
    Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
