The cake story is a good reminder that many bakeries will allow you to password protect your order, though more common for wedding items. If you have an argument with someone over your cake it’s better to be safe than to be overly trusting. In the last story I would password protect everything related to the husband’s daughter and seriously consider the relationship with the wife. She is the one showing favoritism.

Theory: Ri didn't know they were sisters so they obviously don't look alike and aren't identical twins. Mom had Ana but somehow became the caretaker of a 2nd child from a family member the same age. She raised them as twins but favors Ana because she's the biological child.
Maybe but it's possible they are fraternal twins. There was a story where this family wanted 1 child. But had twin girls. They favored one because she was"pretty" and the other was ugly. They tried to give the one up but kept bringing both to potential adopters. And of course everyone backed out because well we don't want to separate twins. So the same could be said for this story. We never heard anything about the father. So maybe OP takes after her father and mom hates her for it. Even if it's never been outwardly said that doesn't mean anything.
There's a book about a pair of "twins " where the husband married a woman he felt obligated to when his wife died and raised his kid and her kid as twins, purposely mixing them up so neither would be shown favoritism. She convinced herself one of them was really hers and it became her favorite and in the end she picked the wrong one and he knew the whole time.

I don't think the father was the A'hole. If they truly wanted to compromise, they could have made it a half & half cake, since there might be guests that also didn't like chocolate. Story 2: NTA...when I was a kid I went to a birthday party for a set of twins, one loved chocolate - the other vanilla. Their mother made a cake that was literally split down the middle - 1/2 chocolate 1/2 vanilla. We were early elementary school, so having 2 entire cakes would have been a waste...this way each got what they liked, and mom wasn't stuck with a ton of leftover cake that would just end up in the trash.

NTA It would be different if this was not your daughters Birthday, and you made a habit of always prioritizing her desires over her step sister, But that does not seem to be the case here. It never ceases to amaze me when you have a parent, like the step mom, who will scream favoritism while at the same time demanding their child get what they want over another, and that if they do not get what they want, it's favoritism. Even in situations like this and it is a birthday, where it is normal to prioritize one child's wishes for their Bday. First Story OP seems to misunderstand the legal responsibilities and powers of an Executor to a Will. The Executors role is to fulfill the wishes as expressed in the will. The executor can not withhold what is written in the will nor can they change what is written in the will aka give different percentages to whomever. The only way a Will can be changed is if a next of kin was not mentioned in the Will and that person chooses to contest the Will through the courts. One tinder date does not a relationship make.

I am sure the first story must have been interesting, but all I could think of while watching/listening to this video, was to wonder why the fiancée, Ri had fangs. Please note- this is not a criticism of the story or video, I am subscribed and genuinely enjoy this poster's content- I'm just a bit bewildered by this one detail. Granted, I don't think it's a bad thing, if the character had fangs. I would only want to make sure that if this was an intentional homage to a vampire or vampire-like pop culture figure, that it's inspired by any vampire character- other than a character from Twilight. I am (pretending to be) and adult and have left my goth clothing/shoe collection far behind- however, deep down inside, I still think fangs are hot... Now, regarding the last story; The Op's wife said that having a vanilla flavored cake for his daughter's birthday, would help teach her to compromise. A simple solution might be to order/serve the chocolate cake that the birthday girl wants as well as getting a vanilla flavored cupcake for the step-sister. I do feel this is coddling and should not be necessary for anyone over the age of three (or so- that is my personal recollection of having to compromise on something and as I was not a particularly articulate and empathic child- if I was able to understand the concept at three years old, than most other neuro-typical kids should have the same capacity), but for the sake of peace within their home, it might be something to consider next time.

Theory: Ri didn't know they were sisters so they obviously don't look alike and aren't identical twins. Mom had Ana but somehow became the caretaker of a 2nd child from a family member the same age. She raised them as twins but favors Ana because she's the biological child.
Maybe but it's possible they are fraternal twins. There was a story where this family wanted 1 child. But had twin girls. They favored one because she was"pretty" and the other was ugly. They tried to give the one up but kept bringing both to potential adopters. And of course everyone backed out because well we don't want to separate twins.
So the same could be said for this story. We never heard anything about the father. So maybe OP takes after her father and mom hates her for it. Even if it's never been outwardly said that doesn't mean anything.
There's a book about a pair of "twins " where the husband married a woman he felt obligated to when his wife died and raised his kid and her kid as twins, purposely mixing them up so neither would be shown favoritism. She convinced herself one of them was really hers and it became her favorite and in the end she picked the wrong one and he knew the whole time.
I pointed that discrepancy out in my remarks. If they looked that much alike, then RI should have noticed. One of the reasons I'm calling fake on the story.

I don't think the father was the A'hole. If they truly wanted to compromise, they could have made it a half & half cake, since there might be guests that also didn't like chocolate. However, that being said, the mother was the A'hole and the daughter has the right to expect that her wishes surpass everyone else's on her birthday. Story 2: NTA...when I was a kid I went to a birthday party for a set of twins, one loved chocolate - the other vanilla. 2nd story. The Cake and favoritism. NTA It would be different if this was not your daughters Birthday, and you made a habit of always prioritizing her desires over her step sister, But that does not seem to be the case here.
It never ceases to amaze me when you have a parent, like the step mom, who will scream favoritism while at the same time demanding their child get what they want over another, and that if they do not get what they want, it's favoritism. Even in situations like this and it is a birthday, where it is normal to prioritize one child's wishes for their Bday. I have even read stories where a compromises have been made to make it equal fair for both and still it is not enough, and that unless their child gets exactly want at the expense of the other they cry it's showing favoritism. First Story OP seems to misunderstand the legal responsibilities and powers of an Executor to a Will. The Executors role is to fulfill the wishes as expressed in the will. The executor can not withhold what is written in the will nor can they change what is written in the will aka give different percentages to whomever. The only way a Will can be changed is if a next of kin was not mentioned in the Will and that person chooses to contest the Will through the courts. One tinder date does not a relationship make.
That was a very difficult story to hear. Half of it made no sense whatsoever.

I think the sister is more of the villain in the first story. True, the mother is not innocent either. Buit planning on "removing" OP from the marriage can be viewed as evil. I am sure the first story must have been interesting, but all I could think of while watching/listening to this video, was to wonder why the fiancée, Ri had fangs. Please note- this is not a criticism of the story or video, I am subscribed and genuinely enjoy this poster's content- I'm just a bit bewildered by this one detail. Granted, I don't think it's a bad thing, if the character had fangs. I would only want to make sure that if this was an intentional homage to a vampire or vampire-like pop culture figure, that it's inspired by any vampire character- other than a character from Twilight. I am (pretending to be) and adult and have left my goth clothing/shoe collection far behind- however, deep down inside, I still think fangs are hot...
Now, regarding the last story; The Op's wife said that having a vanilla flavored cake for his daughter's birthday, would help teach her to compromise. Maybe I am getting senile (I mean, I used to think being 30+ meant that you were pretty much dead and am now 46- according to pop culture- as a female I'm pretty much at death's door- but if I were male, it would mean it's time to find a 19 year old trophy wife), but I don't see how getting a cake in a flavor that is not the favorite of the birthday girl, but is the favorite flavor or the step-sister- is not a compromise. Compromise means that both sides give up a little and meet somewhere in between.
Do the actions of this man's wife, combined with her explanation that her main intent was to give a real example of the idea of compromise, mean that on the step-daughter's birthday, the cake is going to be chocolate? I do feel this is coddling and should not be necessary for anyone over the age of three (or so- that is my personal recollection of having to compromise on something and as I was not a particularly articulate and empathic child- if I was able to understand the concept at three years old, than most other neuro-typical kids should have the same capacity), but for the sake of peace within their home, it might be something to consider next time.
