Especially since Covid hit. I left NYC. and moved upstate NYC there not a lot of Asian up here. In my town there beside myself I can only count 4 more Asian.

    First story, it’s not so unusual for siblings to not report a parent for abusing a scapegoat child. They understood that if the scapegoat goes away, they may become the scapegoat themselves and she probably had abused them before she adopted and they don’t want to be the victims. Most children won’t report their parents. It’s better the devil you know then the devil you don’t know

      When I reported a caregiver, basically I was told the exact same thing by the cops/caseworker. Foster care is the worst, additionally foster parents vary in toxicity. As long as I was able to physically overpower my molester and refuse molestation, I was encouraging to remain in the same household. Yep. BC there were foster fathers who wouldn’t take no for an answer. It’s as though they threatened me with one of “those” homes if I didn’t remain in placement at the current home. I would love to see the statistics, I’d be shocked if more people died/disappeared in police custody than in foster care.

    One thing that always gets me is that even when people establish their race Mr. Reddito still makes them quite different from what is described.
    Or when he makes impossible races mix like a white blond kid whose parents are black and Asian

    • @ruddiko

    • @charondusk5608
      @charondusk5608 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@ruddiko It's not his VOICE that's the problem, the problem is with the models used in the videos, and the lack of consistency. For example, his previous videos, from the guy with the GF whose rich parents didn't approve of him. In the initial story, the girlfriend is Asian with black parents, but in the update, they're changed to be all white with completely different designs.
      Small things, like hair colour or length and even eye colour, can be explained away relatively easily. But when the artwork for a person completely changes within a few minutes, that's a big inconsistency and it's an issue because that suggests the video isn't being checked before being put out, and then the constant inconsistency lowers the quality of the video and can put people off watching it because it confuses them as to who s now who.
      Granted, that's down to whoever animates the videos, not Mr Reddito....Unless he IS the animator, in which case it's something he needs to work on.

    Oh yea…as a previous paramedic/ER nurse who also worked for a couple home health agencies on my days off I’ve not only heard about such vile, toxic people as in the second story but have witnessed it first hand! I’ve seen kids, step kids, fake “nurses”, other family members & men/women sleeping with or trying to sleep with the spouse of the sick or even dying person try to do such things! Something I witnessed frequently as a paramedic/ER nurse who sometimes did shifts in ICU when they were short handed was family member refusing to sign a DNR & keeping a family member suffering in constant agony in the cheapest, dirtiest, worst nursing home in the area…SOLELY so they could keep getting their family member’s social security & retirement checks to spend themselves!!🤬🤬 Before anyone suggests such family members were “just not ready to let go” literally NO ONE EVER visited these patients…not even when rushed to the hospital or in ICU on life support!! If their family loved them too much to let go then they would AT LEAST come visit them in the nursing home or hospital!! And it’s not like they lived far away either! Since these are patients unable to make medical or any other decisions for themselves we would have to get the contact info for the family member or members responsible for all medical decisions & in nearly ALL cases they lived LESS than 1 hour away! In one of the worst cases the patient’s daughter literally lived just 2 BLOCKS from both the hospital & nursing home which were across the street from each other!!🤯🤬 When I say this nursing home was the absolute WORST…nearly every patient we picked up from there was dehydrated, filthy, had pressure sore & burns from sitting in their own urine & feces for extended periods of time, were malnourished(despite almost all having feeding tubes!) & many would be covered in bruises from rough treatment when being repositioned or when actually bathed!! During my first 2yrs as a medic more than a DOZEN nurses & even 2 doctors lost their license for mistreatment/abuse of patients actually able to still speak up for themselves or who had family who truly cared. So then it became obvious as soon as we picked up a patient from there we could immediately tell if they had family who cared & visited regularly or who was normally still able to speak up for themselves bc they would be hydrated, well fed, clean & have no bed sores, urine/feces burns or bruises from rough treatment! Which honestly made me MORE angry bc it PROVED that they did know HOW to properly care for patients & that they had the staff to do so!! That instead THEY CHOSE to neglect or even outright physically &/or mentally harm helpless patients left in their “care” solely BC THEY COULD!!🤬🤬What’s even *WORSE* is the fact that during my 4th year as a medic/nurse we had *15+* fully immobile(unable to move themselves)patients from that nursing home who kept testing positive for 2 different sexually transmitted diseases! This went on for *months* until finally investigators figured out that a male nurse & a male nursing assistant were *RAPING* *not only* these helpless immobile mentally unaware elderly women but also several other mentally aware female patients!! None had spoken up bc the men chose patients who didn’t have family visiting & they threatened to beat or even kill them if they said anything. Which since they gave them their meds & most required assistance moving & bathing…it wouldn’t be hard for them to make it look like an accident. It even turned out that a couple female nurses were involved & that the 4 of them *even FILMED* some of the rapes!!🤬🤯🤬How sick & twisted does someone have to be to do such things?!! The ONLY reason that nursing home hasn’t been shutdown is bc: 1. The owners own several in multiple counties & donate heavily to local politicians & those who run for sheriff 2. It’s one of only 2 in a 5 county area that charges so little & thus those patients would have no where to go…especially since there was(& still is)far more patients needing to be admitted to ANY type of nursing home than there is room available in our area. It’s a little better now since the state forced them to hirer new management & new staff along with frequent state inspections…but it’s still by far the worst in our area!
    -Also…as I live in the rural southern US…I’ve witnessed/known/currently know MANY such people as the mom, her 2 biological kids & her like minded friends from the 1st story…like how they pretend to be open & accepting in public but are actually horribly racist & homophobic!
    I hate to admit it but the majority of my family is like that…especially my husband’s family *EXCEPT* for his mother & father. His grandparents are horrible yet bc his grandfather was a pastor before he passed away earlier this year theyd be super nice to anyone of a different race in the community but would say horribly racist things in private. His grandfather’s behavior is one of the major reasons why I began questioning the churches & people who attended them in my area. Especially after overhearing other area pastors say similar things when visiting with my grandfather in law over Sunday lunch…with me, my husband, his aunt who still lived there at the time & his grandmother present! For clarification I met my husband at church at age 14 & we began dating at age 15. BC both of my grandfathers died before I was 4yrs old my grandfather in law is the only grandfather I’ve ever known/had…which became more important after my dad passed away from cancer when I was only 22. Don’t get me wrong…my grandfather in law would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it regardless of race. But he saw people of any race besides white as inferior with few exceptions. And my aunt in law wholeheartedly agrees with his views/beliefs *despite* having a masters in psychology, having worked for 15+yrs with those needing mental/physical assistance finding work/getting training after life changing injuries/illnesses & working for the past 6yrs at a local college making sure students with disabilities & learning impairments get the assistance & accommodations they need!🤯While she will fight tooth & nail to get any student regardless of race or sexual orientation the help they need…the way she talks about other races & those of other sexual orientation in private & the views/beliefs she expresses are horrible!! But sadly that is the case with a *lot* of white people here above a certain age & why many African Americans here above a certain age have a very negative opinion of most or even all white people. 😔😔 Thankfully many if not most of those my age(late 30s)or younger don’t share the older generation’s intolerances & hate. So while I have hope for the future…unfortunately right now those older than us are still in control of political positions, high ranking police positions, are in charge of major businesses & other positions of power & control. Until such positions can be filled by the younger generation many of the things that need change likely won’t be changed. However things are better than they were from even just 10-20yrs ago! While I’d love to see a rapid change not just publicly but in people’s hearts & minds…it’s something so deeply ingrained it unfortunately takes time to change. But at least publicly change has occurred much faster.

      Yup in my hometown when I was younger we would go sing at nursing home on Sundays. A couple of times some smelled bad like urine. It was sad. I worked later on in childcare and we had a director get her CNA LICIENSE And work at a nursing home. I found out that one of my friends dad got placed at her facility. It made the news about nursing staff not doing their duties. Thank God the director stopped working in childcare. Same as another assistant director she quit working for one owner and I was working at another facility and owner stated to me you said she used to be an assistant director. She cannot even handle the 3 year old in her class. I just laughed. The assistant is better working around adults not children. One Daycare owner finally got her centers shutdown due to hiring incompant directors and staff. One office worker had the gall to tell me not to get after her worker. We were Facebook friends and I was just warning her that state can come and shut them down if she does not stop posting pictures of the daycare kids without parents permission. They did fine the center cause they hired a lady that did that and was posting porn on internet along with her boyfriend

    I have a dear friend who was adopted by an abusive woman who made it clear to my friend until even on her deathbed, that she was not a member of the family. There are horror stories of children placed in abusive homes. CPS is quick to remove a child, and then doesn't vet the homes they place them in. Second story...never EVER EVER hire a care giver for anyone who is not licensed and vetted by the State you live in. If you need a care giver, the first call is to the State office of Human Services. They will register you and start the process of providing care.

    I have an acquaintance in law enforcement that works in the elder abuse section. Story #2 happens all the time. Women alienate the man's family, convince them to sign everything over to them (sometimes via marriage that the man doesn't comprehend), and sometimes the man is beaten and left for dead. It happens so often that an elder abuse department is necessary.

    That story about the adopted Asian girl broke my heart! I’m relieved she eventually was able to break free from the oppression of that toxic “mother”/family, however it’s beyond sad that the influence during her youth was probably very detrimental to her core beliefs about herself and she’ll likely need continued therapy. It is indeed devastating that her siblings didn’t provide her any emotional support either. I can imagine that they too were probably messed up quite a bit from that toxic, narcissistic mother as well, and likely conditioned to have and continue with a competitive mindset with their siblings. Sadly this is how narcissistic parents raise their kids. To complete with each other rather than to build each other up and lovingly look out for and support each other. Unfortunately this story isn’t uncommon with any adoption. Even without race being a factor, there’s many adoptive “parents” who constantly want attention and admiration for “rescuing” children from some exaggerated portrayal of a horrible situation or life. Its sickening that these people use them for the social accolades rather than embracing them as completely their own precious children which every child deserves to grow up feeling and believing!
    I also must add, I absolutely ADORE your storytelling and especially your animation!!!! WHY are you only a TH-cam channel?! These amazing true stories along with your gifted animation ability, could and should be something that people of all ages, all cultures (made available in many translations) can enjoy as well as learn valuable life lessons and help to bring more wisdom and particularly empathy into the world. Maybe if you wrote out the stories (editing them slightly to improve them, as you do, without changing the story. Then have people from the appropriate culture and language, translate and read them in a voice fitting the first person character telling the story. Maybe have each story done in several different languages so they’re available to as many as possible. That would be so enjoyable and I for one, wouldn’t want to miss a single episode!!! Please make this happen? I think it could play a huge role in improving the world and bring so much betterment to society, and like I already said, some of these stories are wonderful for ALL ages or some could definitely be made to be without significant changes. Or maybe even collect more stories intended for a younger group. There’s just so much potential! Thank you for what you do and I appreciate and look forward to every episode! 💕

    Brother and Sister of O.P. Are probably as Racist as their mother now. Poisoned at a young age. How sad.

  • @amberkat8147
    @amberkat8147 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Story 1 is heartbreaking. Racists like that are disgusting, and kids deserve better. As for her siblings- kids are like ducklings, they tend to follow their parents' examples. And when that example is to heap abuse on one of the kids, they'll play along ESPECIALLY if it means they are safe, or at least not abused as much themselves. It happened in the case of one kid whose abuse was so bad- and he lived to tell of it- that a book was written about it, and also the famous case of Genie whose father refused to allow anyone to socialize with her so she didn't learn to speak until after she was rescued. I heard of one case where a mother killed all but one of her daughters one by one, locking them up until they died, forbidding the younger ones from giving them food or water. (She believed they were stealing her youth.) She actually shot the first one, the oldest, for trying to leave. The younger ones knew it would be their turn next- one by one the current victim told their next younger sister it would be their turn after they were dead. The youngest actually got away and told police her mother had killed her sisters, and the police didn't believe her until the remains of the bonfire where the crazy mother had burned the most recent victim and all her belongings was found and they realized it actually contained human remains. Why did they not get together and beat that monster to death before she could decide it was their term? Basically, learned helplessness. It's been their normal for so long that it's hard for them to break away from it. Same thing here as in those cases. The siblings who grow up witnessing or also experiencing the abuse don't always, or even often, realize how abnormal it is, and don't usually have the courage to do anything about it.

    Story 1 - I would have called her bluff. If she did follow up on that threat it would just prove she only adopted an Asian child to smokescreen her racism. The public opinion would have been against op's mother for being such a monster to a vulnerable little orphan. SHE KNEW THAT. I think op should have saved the threats to get the other racist family members into trouble too but that's just what I think. It's more important that Barbara went down.
    Don't be too hard on op's siblings. It's likely they were just relieved their horrible mom focused her abuse on op and they never wanted to challenge that because once the person is out of the picture the abuse will transfer to a new target. It's not right but it's just self preservation when your parent is a remorseless monster.
    Story 2 - "a good man?" Wtf. 😂 Okay. He couldn't even wait for his poor wife to be buried six feet under before he cheated on her. Yeah, what a good man. He let the mistress just sell op's mom stuff as she pleased. Yeah. He's such a nice man. He let this floozy slap his daughter around and made her lose her job. FATHER OF THE YEAR. I'm gonna stop for a moment to appreciate Johnny and Mr. Peterson. The PI deserves credit too ofc. Sweet sweet justice 😘🤌

    My sister and I were adopted too. My dad wanted us, as mom told me after he died. She told her family and others, my sister (no relation) and I both owed her for taking us out of the orphanage. They started a college fund for me when I was a tiny girl. After I turned 18, they told me girls didn't go to college that they adopted my sister and I to take care of them when they grew old because that's what their friends told them to do. They took my college fund/$20,000 and bought a car and who knows what else with the money. I married what turned out to be a very abusive man just to get away from her. I had a friend who counseled me and taught me how to spot controlling people after my divorce.
    My sister and I grew up on a farm and we had a big garden. We were expected to help work in the garden, then harvest then process the food. I loved this part of my life as it taught me how to take care of myself later on in life. I was also the caregiver of the family. I did this out of love even though my mom didn't care for me. I'm a CMA now and enjoy my life. My parents died many years ago and I learned how to survive life.
    I met my birth families and they accepted me. They were so very good to me. I had no idea what love was until I met them.

    If I am understanding this correctly, by the time the competition was over and the prize money distributed you were a ward of the court under supervision of a new guardian???? If that is correct then it would be fraud on the part of your first foster mom to collect that money on your behalf. Talk to CPS as they are your legal resource.

    Thank you for a child abuse story. We hear mostly about wife abuse stories from, not often, the husband or the majority from MIL. Horrible MILs, horror abuse on women from women. I have mentioned child abuse quite often because abusive people normally have more than one victim. I ran away at 15 because my life was in danger. That was in the late 60s and 70s and before CPS. My father was a drunk and beat us with his two best friends Smith and Wesson, that’s a hand gun. I escaped and graduated from high school

    OP, go back to the media and tell a journalist that your mother appropriated the prize money you had intended to use for college. It should be easy to prove that she cashed the check. You may find a lawyer who will handle your case pro bono as a result, and can take your adoptive mother to court to get your money back.

    Now that OP is 18, she should enter more competitions, under her own power, and take ALL the prize money. She's already proven that she can win. Then, she can use her new winnings to pay the legal costs of SUING THE PANTS OFF OF BARBARA!
    As for the siblings - I don't really blame the sister, because she was still a small child when OP was introduced to the home, and was SWIMMING in the racism in that home. She didn't know any better. When it all came out, she was still only 17, and still at home, and still didn't have much opportunity to learn better. You KNOW her mother did not let her socialize with 'the wrong sort," who would "corrupt her mind," so she didn't know better.
    The older brother, however, was nine years older, and WELL into young adulthood by the time the story came out. He would have already graduated college, or been in the workforce for several years. He would have had SO MUCH opportunity to know POCs, and non-racists, and to LEARN. For him, yeah, he had a rotten upbringing, but there comes a time in adulthood (I'd say 25 is the cut-off) when it's ON YOU. YOU have to take responsibility for your OWN Life and your OWN choices. After you've had several years OUT of the SWIMMING POOL OF HATE, you have had time to DRY OFF, and make those changes. So, yeah, I blame him. I pity the sister, but I DO blame him.
    And I DEFINITELY blame ALL the relatives who made threats and "promises" of what they would do to her, just proving the fact that they ALL hated her, all along. "We're not racist! And we're going to abuse you to prove it!" Ummmm...
    The entire "family" is just a crowd of hateful people. I pray that the sister ALSO gets therapy, and learns from this, while she still has time. If she can go to college, and break away from her mother, she has a good chance of learning better. MAYBE, the shame of being associated with Barbara, coupled with a good education, will be enough for her.
    The thing that gets me the most is that Barbara KNEW she was socially unacceptable, which is why she bought a beard, in the first place. She KNEW she was wrong, but went ahead with it, anyway.
