Just followed the instructions and was able to fix the noisy idler pulley. Tried to just remove the bottom panel as one other you tube video suggested but found that the idler pulley I ordered did NOT fit the pulley arm so had to take it all apart. Easy to follow all the directions and now have a much quieter and even better then factory since fixed an area they screwed up when putting this together!! Thanks

Thank You! I have this exact gas dryer (gas). Bought the OEM kit from Genuine Replacement Parts (the Amazon knock-offs gave me pause). This video is outstanding. Thanks for all the details--I think I would have had a lot of trouble with this repair without this video. There are lots of bad ones out there (like "remove the back" of the dryer. One detail for me that was different: on the top left electric coupling on the door, mine was not designed to unclip so I removed the screws holding the little safety switch in place. The whole repair was a lot easier than I had planned. Unpacked a surprising volume of lint. The Clorox wipes were a great idea. Thanks again for posting this. My dryer has another 100,000 miles to go.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I have the Kenmore electric version of this machine, and while other videos I watched gave me a pretty good idea of how to pull the drum and replace the support rollers and Idler arm pulley, yours showed me how to take the cabinet apart without bending tabs, or breaking any connections (especially that cable attaching the top in back). All of the instructions and photos were concise and well thought out. I was able to fix my dryer (with my wife's able assistance), and saved a bunch of cash, not to mention keeping my home safe from a possibly Covid-carrying repair technician! NO MORE SQUEAK! GREAT VIDEO!

Your directions are clear I just didn’t know if you had a trick that you could share that made it easier is all. I had difficulty getting it to go around everything with the belt being so new that it hadn’t stretched some, just was looking to see if you had any tips or tricks that would help is all. This is a wonderful video and it guided me through replacing my belt with zero problems. However, the dryer is making the exact same screeching noise as it was before. Does anyone have any ideas? None of the rollers are dirty or squeaking when i roll them. The belt will be quiet if I put baby powder on it or water until the powder/water wears off, and then it starts screeching again, which is supposed to indicate that the belt needed to be replaced. But it's doing exactly the same thing with a brand new belt.

6:03, the drum is sitting on the floor. 7:10, "you have the drum there, that's all you have left to pull out." The video never explains how to remove the drum when it has a belt around it, and you only have access from above, AND you cannot remove the top panel because of the control panel wires. (And by the way, Whirlpool welded the back panel to the chassis, turning a 15 minute idler pulley replacement into a 2 hour job. I'll never own another Whirlpool.)

Once the front piece is off you pull the belt off the tensioner to loosen belt /then slide belt off as you pull drum out towards you.Basically floats on the wheels and belt . So easy God bless

@@mbjdiy1778 he means how to reassemble the belt and the drum? Belt around pulleys then around drum? Or belt around drum and try to feed it down thru pulleys?

Anyone else annoyed that he didn’t turn his camera sideways for the shoot? Pics are too zoomed in so that we can’t fully see all that needs to be seen.
