Thank you!
This should be the first video that shows up when searching cabrio dryer fix (fill in the problem)
Literally just completed the pulley replacement. The most difficult thing about it was putting the belt back on the motor and tension pulleys. Thank you so much for the step by step instructions. Only down side is, my wife is actively looking for things for me to fix.
Happy to help!🙂

Thank you so much for this video! Never in my life have I ever thought I could take apart a dryer to repair it. The wife and I were about to spend a few grand on new appliances. You saved us a ton of money! You the man!
You are welcome!
You know it's really easy to send them 10 or $20 for all of his efforts. Save me hundreds so I'm thinking I saved money by sending him $30
Probably the best video tutorial I have ever watched ! I just did all this and its most excellent .
Glad it helped!
just wanted to echo many of the comments.. your calm and precise demeanor, patience and detailed descriptions of each and every “task” and overall the specifics that you show were so spot on.. without this video, would not have done it.. with this video, fixed the screeching pulley wheel for less than $15 and only having to do it once thanks to your video!
Very happy we could help have a bless day!🙂
I agree
This is without a doubt , the best instructional video I have ever seen. My dryer was doing the same thing. I followed your video and was able to get it working like new again. Thanks for the help! Awesome Job!
You are very welcome!
Thank you so much for this video. I have never taken apart a dryer before in my life and I followed this video with each step and got this repair completed with ease. I replaced all the wheels and the idler pulley. I ran into not a single issue with the repair and that is because of your video. THANK YOU!!!
Happy to help!😊
Great video on especially how to take unit apart and put back on correctly with no left over screws, took your advice and was patient at times, was able to replace belt, pulley and 5 wheels on my model WED8000DW4, one of my mistakes was ordering a kit that said would fit my model, the kit came with belt that few inches short and a little wider, and vame with 4 wheels instead of 5, went to whirlpool dealer and for my model it was belt specific, so got a belt and extra wheel, after putting all back together ended up with 4 extra screws, rewatched your video and I had forgot to put the 4 screws on the front face of the housing that supports front rollers, other than that your video was excellent. Thank you...
An incredible and helpful video I successfully followed step-by-step to fix the squeal (no hiding from that sound and a cloying reminder that you have a job to do or pay for ;-) THANK YOU! The only area where I ran into challenges was when putting the lid back on. There is a very subtle catch that you have to line up to click the top of the dryer back into place. I followed the "back up and pull forward" instructions in the video but for some reason my "catch" was not locking into place to keep the lid anchored to the main machine. After finally discovering the subtle catch mechanism at the front of the lid/cover, I had to take a flathead screw driver and raise the metal catches to successfully lock-in with the top/lid and elegantly "click it into place." It was close to the final step and I was almost defeated but finally figured it out. Just an FYI for anyone else that hits this step and gets confused like I was. Online Appliance Tech was clear but it took me awhile to figure it out. Thank you again for providing this immensely helpful video. Sending positive energy your way!!!
Excellent - thank you.. My Cabrio is just slightly different relative to the sheet metal screw placement/numbers, but it's close enough for this video to help greatly. Everything looks the same on the inside.
For others attempting this fix, if you're going to replace the rollers (and easy to do while you have it apart), make sure you've got the right replacement kit. Most of them come with only 4 - and you need 6.
Given the tight access, I found it easier to get the belt around the drum and the motor gear first - and then swing the idler pulley into position - but maybe that's just me.
This was exactly what I needed! The step by step instructions were super helpful, and made this process a lot smoother.
Glad it helped!
I had never fixed a dryer before. Last week my dryer started making that same squealing sound. I went to day and bought a new pulley. Thanks to your video I was able to do it no problem. Thank you for making a video and doing it step by step.
Glad we could assist! Appreciate your feedback!
You’re a life safer, my dryer started making that screeching noise and I was already looking at new ones and I figured can’t be that hard to find out the problem and fix it, well with this Guide it wasn’t hard at all! Saved me some money and taught me a thing or two, can’t thank you enough.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's comments like yours that keep me motivated to create helpful content. I'm thrilled that I could save you some money and teach you something new!
Thanks for a clear comprehensive video. Never realized how simple dryers are. You saved me alot of money. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to know that the video made a difference for you. Enjoy your savings!
Thank you so much for the thorough explanation and demonstration. I really appreciated the tips and details that may not be obvious, like “keep the light brown side of the belt out” or “tighten with your fingers, being careful not to strip things”. May be common sense to someone who does this all the time, but for me, it was really helpful. Thanks for taking the time to put this together!🎉
Oh! And the tip about putting something under the dryer to tilt it up was genius! 💯
Thank you very much! and happy we could help!! Have a great weekend
Fixed my dryer in 30 minutes thanks to this video. VERY informative!!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video! Easy peasy! I replaced the idler pulley on the shaft vs replacing the entire assembly. (Got a great deal on the 6 rollers, 1 pulley, 1 belt. Whirlpool OEM for $40 shipped) I was shocked to find my idler pulley was COMPLETELY froze up. It would squeal for 10-30 seconds then run quietly, I cleaned the shaft ls with lighter fluid, then used “SUPER LUBE” for the bushings on reassembly. Thank you for such a great tutorial!
Excellent!
***QUESTION?****
My dryer needs this repair however the parts don’t arrive till Tuesday. Can I still use my dryer through the weekend without doing further damage to the internal parts?
Thank you so much for making this video. Made the replacement so easy. Your step by step instructions made this completely hassle free. Thanks!
You're welcome!
You know it's easy to send him a few dollars to say thank you

Super helpful. I changed my idler pully today based on the guidance of this video. I used tape to note and keep screws identifiable and safe.. thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled that the video was helpful for you in changing your idler pully. And I love that you used tape to keep the screws organized - great tip!
Great video! Thanks buddy, I’m sure I could do it on my own, but this for order of operations, I’m sure saved me a ton of time!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy to hear that the video saved you time.
Needed to fix my whrilpool dryer wed8500dc4. This was exactly what I needed, very informative, great video shots, no loud obnoxious music. Thank you for the video, brutha!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm happy you found the video informative.
Thank You!
Just swapped out pulley and this made the job incredibly easy! Broke in the AM, fixed by 1pm. Including a 30 mile drive to parts store.
Wow, that's impressive timing! So glad to hear the pulley swap went smoothly and that my video could help make the process easier for you. A 30-mile drive to the parts store and still fixed by 1pm? You're a pro! Thanks for sharing your success!

Your video was the difference maker. Also, my wife and I did it. Extra hands help. Think it took us around 1.5 hours total. We also moved it into garage to have more room.
Ben, this video was incredibly helpful! We were able to successfully repair our dryer all on our own and we are novices. Thank you!!
Glad it helped!
I see so many people think this is an awesome video. I thought so too so why not send him 5 or $10? I think his information was easily worth 20 or $30 because it's saved me two or three hundred dollars. Consider sending people like this a handful of dollars if 100 people send him $5 then he will continue to make some awesome videos
Just did the repair thanks to this video, you made it super simple and easy to follow. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot to know the video was helpful!
Hello there,
I have a different model, but I think your video tells me how to get in there and get this done.
Thanks a ton!
Be safe, healthy, happy and stay awesome!
Happy to help!
Thank you so much for posting this. Had to replace my dryer belt on this model, and this video was exactly what I needed to show me how to do it. Perfect! Thank you so much 😊👌
Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy the video was useful to you. Feel free to share it with anyone who might need it.
Thanks for this video! I was able to finish the repair from start to finish without much trouble. The only part where I struggled was the idler pulley. I didn't notice the spring had fallen off and I had to take it apart again from the lack of tension 😂. Appreciate this video!
I'm truly grateful for your insightful feedback and the generous Super Chat tip. Many thanks!
Thank you for posting this! By following this video, we successfully replaced the pulley! Took us hours, tho…but worth it
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled that the video was able to assist you in replacing the pulley. Your feedback means a lot to me and encourages me to keep creating helpful content. Thank you for your support!

Great video and instructions.

Happy to have you and thank you for your feedback!
Fantastic video. You made what I thought would be a hard repair look easy and doable. Thank you for a great detailed video. Just what I needed.
Very happy to hear! 😃
Mine not spinning
@@javanikaphilipose2390 If not spinning it probably your belt and idler pulley. Pulley breaks the belt and then once the belt is broken the safety switch by the motor will open which will not allow the dryer to turn on and just makes a click sound from the main control board. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the tutorial! Had a idler pulley that sounded like a cat stuck in the dryer!
You're welcome!
I don’t see the thermal fuse in the description. Also that’s a nice magnet light😁. Thank you for the video.
Sorry about that, I placed the OEM thermal fuse in the description. I will try to find Magnet light too.
I was thinking that same thing about the magnet light! Very handy!
I'm ordering the parts and getting on this thanks to your straight forward instruction. Thanks so much !
That's awesome! I'm glad the instructions were helpful. Good luck with your project!
Besides any funny noises will there be any other indicators I did something wrong? Are there any fire hazards?
I agree very through tutorial ordered the parts and will attempt repair with this video by my side. Thanks!!
Thanks, Fixed it
Thank you for letting me know! I appreciate your feedback.
just fixed mine in under a hour thanks to this vid !!
Glad it helped!
Thanks! I was about to buy a new machine - you saved me so much money!
Thank you immensely for your generous Super Thanks tip! I'm thrilled to hear the video was beneficial. Once again, thank you!
Great video, I didn’t see you point/identify the fuse/location of the fuse. Can someone please give me a quick written location and description of it. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so very thorough it’s the exact problem we have my question is you mention at the beginning of the video that you will list the parts he only showed the poly wheel in the package I was hoping for a thorough part number for that pulley wheel and you said while it’s a parts replace the back wheels so I’d like the number on that as well. Thank you.
Hello! The parts are listed in the description below the video. Hope this helps!
Great vid! Mine no longer squeaks but seem lumpy rather than smooth when rolling. Any ideas?
I have a WED8500DC3 version and I was wondering if anybody else had the same issue I had today.
While trying to fix and issue with clothes not drying after one cycle, I found that the heater element, which is different then what is shown in this video, had an issue with the transition to the back pipe . When I was taking the back off the assembly fell and the heater assembly was not attached to the back assembly.
The heater assembly had a flange the was sticking straight up preventing the back pipe assembly attaching at the bottom. Basically, the way it was put together the two pipes were just forced together and held together by the screws, sandwiched together.
I am not sure why there was a flange on the heater tube, as it could not have been attached to anything. It looks like whirlpool changed the design mid assembly, but did not install the correct parts and whomever decied to make it work, lol.
I had to bend the flange down and then I was able to install the two tubes together.
Edited: I believe the above was actually our problem with the clothes not drying. At first, we had thought the dryer pipe was clogged up, but it was not.
I believe what happened was the dryer had been moved or bumped fairly hard the the heater assembly fell down, since it was not put togethet correctly to begin with. This caused the two pipes inside the dryer to be offset causing alot of the heat to escape prior to going into the dryer.
Thank you for the help! Step by step instructions were thorough and easy to follow. Part numbers were correct. Job takes longer than the 21 minute video lol but such a relief to hear a quiet and correctly functioning dryer again!
Glad it helped!
Great video. Thank you. Helped me knock out my fix in short order.
Great to hear!
You are an amazing person for putting this video together.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words and support.
Great video, spot on, and just what I needed. Thanks for taking the time to help others!
You're welcome!
Tackled this job yesterday with this video Thanks!
Fantastic!
Thanks for the excellent walk through and the parts. Saved me so much time!
Happy we could help!
Thank you so much for posting. This helped us fix our dryer.
Glad it helped!
Can you replace the idler pulley from the back without removing the drum?
I'm sorry it has to be from the front like in the video.
Thank you for video. Excellent tutorial and really easy to follow.
You're very welcome!
If it's making a knocking noise, does that mean the rollers need replacing ?
Knocking noise could be Roller wheels, or Idler pulley if shafts are worn down allowing the rollors to move around too much. If squeaking that's Id - pulley for sure. But rollers make knocking noises and grinding noises. You are better off getting both of them . I hope this helps you have a good day.
You are the man! Thx for the help
Thank you!
Where do i order the pully from n whats the part #
I just did this and now my dryer is making a weird noise. Would I be able to DM you a video of it and see what you think the noise could be??
Do you think it is feasible to tear this dryer apart to fit it into my basement? I have a 27” opening and this dryer measures about 29” wide. Obviously removal of drum assembly is pretty easy, I am just hesitant with trying to take apart the rest of the chassis.
I replaced the wheels (6)the pulley and still had noise took apart again and checked everything. Uninstalled and reinstalled the idle pulley and still noise. Need assistance .
Thank you so much for your video! I was able to replace the idle pulley, 4 wheels, and thermal fuse. I replaced these about a week and a half ago and now I hear a high humming noise. I’m thinking something has possibly came loose. Any help?
@@heatherstewart3657 mine does the same, I just replaced and hear the high humming noise, did you figure it out?
I changed flame sensor and took wires off without documenting order. does light blue go on top or bottom of mounted flame sensor on the burntube? the white wire is thicker so dont want to assume it doesnt matter
Thanks!
Thank you for watching! I appreciate your support and I'm glad you found it helpful!
Hello! I have this dryer and replaced these parts and it works great. Now it does not seem to be getting as hot as it used to. Do you have a repair video for that? Thanks!
I recommend inspecting the airflow, specifically the ductwork that runs from the back of the unit to the wall. Ensure it isn't bent or kinked, as that can lead to extended drying times. I hope this suggestion is useful :)
@@onlineappliancetech thank you!!!!!!
Hi what model is yours? Mine looks exactly like yours but want to make sure these parts will fit mine before i order them. Thanks
Great video! Thanks
AWESOME!!!!!
Your enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you for the support!
Did this replacement, very loud and hard to spin the drum when put together, any ideas?
I have no heat either. Do you have a video on heat element?
Should I change the heating element from the front as well
If heating wasn't the issue you were facing, then there's no need to consider replacing the heating element. :)
I meant to ask Could I get to the heating element from the backside? I’m trying to to avoid dismantling the whole dryer.
Love the video.. But does these parts work for the whirlpool Cabrio Gas dryer WGD8000DW4... if not can do you have an amazon link to one that will work...again great video..Thank you
Yes same parts, Thank you for your nice comments!
Thank you for this! Great explanation and walkthrough. Was able to fix my dryer in no time!
Mine was just squeaking but now it is sounding like a mini jack hammer and occasional squeaking. What sound does it make when the bearings go?
I would replace Rollers Wheels and Id Pulley and make sure to clean well. Hope this helps!
Where is the thermal fuse located i have dryer all apart thks
The thermal fuse is situated on the blower housing, positioned above the blower wheel within that vicinity.
great video where did you get your light from
Thank you, Awesome video!!
Thank you!
Thank you. You are awesome!!!
Happy to help!
why not put some axel grease on those wheels?
Grease can lead to lint adhering to the shaft, subsequently causing the wheels to seize up. It is important to ensure that the shaft of the wheels remains free from grease or oil. I hope you find this information useful!
Did u throwaway the linen liner ?
I'm sorry for any misunderstanding, but I'm finding it challenging to comprehend what you mean by "liner liner". Could you possibly elaborate or provide additional context? This would help me address your query more accurately.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the tip!
Thank you
You're welcome
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you so much!!!
You are very welcome!
THANL YOU!!!!!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! Your support is greatly appreciated!
My Cabrio just started all of this squalling. This isn’t an easy fix. I’m wondering why after just five years is this dryer having these types of problems?
Sad to say but yes they do not make them like they use too.
What are the part numbers so I can order off Amazon ???
Yes, I left them in the description below for both of them. Best Regards, Matt
I can’t find the part numbers in description 🤔
Thank you - this was perfect!
This is an awesome video! Easy to follow and plenty of visuals as to where things are.
What is the part number for the replacement lint filter?
Could I have your Model Number please...
thanksyou
Hey, thanks for dropping by! Your comment made my day! 😊
