@@cChristopheRDonexcept ESO is still extremely popular , but under different development studio that can actually make a competent online game. before the TV show helping boost numbers, Fallout 76 had less than half the player base of ESO. Bethesda Games is still making early 2000s style PC games for modern technology, which is why 76 doesn't work

Bethesda: banned for racism trade locked
Lets be real, Bethesda has never been more than a mid-tier developer at best. Its just that in their peak they had compelling IPs (not that they even created them all themselves to begin with), and they were one of the first to do the whole first person open world rpg in a mainstream way so there wasnt really any competition for comparison.
FO3 was my first FO, and even back in 2008 it wasnt anything amazing to me, it was a non-compelling mid tier story, but set in a really cool sandbox. Id also say the fact that the FO games are set in real locations is also part of its appeal (again, case in point FO3 came out right after i moved to DC so i felt a connection and it was cool seeing post apocalyptic renditions of places i saw every day). If they were imaginary planets/cities such as the Outer Worlds then they probably would have been just as unmemorable (or is it non-memberable?) as OW was.
Skyrim really seems more of a fluke than anything else. Probably their only legit high quality production (and thats if you look past the technical state it launched in).

If you look at the roster for skyrim, the game was stacked with incredible talent in the industry.. its just now all that talent is gone due to retirement or being fired or whatever happened..
They had the 90s bulls.. now they got the bulls of today working on Bethesda.. same name same team just different players.
It baffles me how studios fire and replace people thinking the game will be the same or great.. you just got rid of the best player/dev what you think was gunna happen.. went from winning goty 4 games in a row to losing 3 in a row because yall dont have them players anymore.
As much a pain and weirdo michael kirkbride was/is HIRE HIMBACK he knew how to write the F out of a video game with lore... look at the lore in starfield shit is absent .. instead of lore books they just copied real life books and put a paragraph.. wooow incredible

Is sad seeing how they went from the incredible world building, lore, systems, setting and immersion of Morrowind and Oblivion to FO3, to Skyrim, FO4, to FO76, to Starfield... Even if Skyrim still is a great title, it only has the gameplay (which is not saying much) and lacks everything else from the previous titles, and FO3 is just Oblivion with rough combat. I'd argue Morrowind and Oblivion stand on their own, but it would be impossible to play FO3 or Skyrim without mods.
It's just sad what this company has become all within the last 6 years. Bethesda with Skyrim was like Rockstar with GTA 3. Imagine if Rockstar after making their first breakout smash hit game GTA 3 and just literally peak right there in 2001. That was the highest pinnacle Rockstar ever reaches and they go downhill from there. And then Dan Houser just gaslights their fans and jokes about how buggy their games are and just straight up lying and over promising on everything. That's Todd Howard to Bethesda right now.

To be fair, I totally understand why he would do that, and I would have done it myself. He’s been making Elder scrolls since Morrowind (I think), as a creator, I’d be sick of it.
Plus, 76 and Starfield are great ideas, I’d be excited to work on them. If Bethesda had any level of quality control and vision, both could have been good games on launch.
I think Todd is just old, he made his best stuff, I think he’s milking this company for all it’s worth and spending time with his family.
@@jontay4199 the error he made was sitting on two franchises for years that were wildly popular and just milked them (es5 and fo4). Imagine had Nintendo done that with Mario and donkey Kong.

My favorite loading screen in Starfield is in the Techo-Bar on Neon. Bar has a second level that you reach by elevator/loading screen, once on the second level you can walk up to the DJ pit and jump back down to the first level without a loading screen.

Like one of my favorite games Red Dead Redemption 1, it may be great but at a personal cost for those who worked on it. I mean, the tv show might stay good. At least watchable. Fallout Lore's been scuffed since forever so at this point the show is the only aspect of the lore we should even care about lol. It's not like BGS gives af.

What's funny is that Bethesda bought the Fallout IP from a different company.
Imagine if Projekt Red or Larian had Fallout.. we wouldn't only have a great show but a great game as well.

They essentially just added native 4k (which you won’t notice if you can’t play in 4k HDR) and a ᵗⁱⁿʸ amount of CC for free and called it a day (2 years)
Oh yea those patch fixes.. that shit is insane, barely any fixes, some that NO ONE ASKED FOR over the years.
On PS5, the game is MUCH BETTER.
The PS4 version would ALWAYS CRASH. It stuttered with low frames and it had a weird texture glitch. Unplayable even with no mods.
PS5 version was needed, I can finally play with zero crashes and 60FPS. It’s nothing special, but for us on PlayStation this was much needed. Still a lot of things are unacceptable and I do feel bad for PC players.
Sounds like a you problem. Never had a single issue with it on my ps4 and ps5. Ever.
I want to make a final decision. I'm a ps5 player, if I "didn't care about losing my mods" (I do, just an example)
Is the game still playable and good? I've heard they fixed a lot of the CC bugs like the Tunnel Snakes breaking Codsworth, the skins causing the 0kb glitch, etc. there's a framerate increase and adaptive triggers, (meaning guns feel like guns now.)
I also hear a lot of negative things. Some people losing there DLC's, they won't update and are broken (telling them to buy it again and such.) Red "!" Everywhere, on a lot of weapons/armor.
As a Ps5 player, I've only played it on ps4, so I'm wonding if it's safe to download on ps5 (ya know since I can't revert an update), or am I basically downloading an unintentional virus?
@@DevicCypherthen you didn't play in the last not month.. Or you never deleted it from your system.. A quick Google search will show two weeks ago when the show dropped there was a bunch of people having issues, the game would crash before you got the main menu..turns out one update in the past straight up broke automatron.. If you launched the game with the dlc installed the game would crash.. They fixed the issue on the ps4 version when the next gen dropped. It's definitely not a him thing it's a well documented bug that many oeilne struggled with..

My hype and hope died when starfield came out. That was the company’s passion project, they been waiting for years and years to make this, they were all so excited etc. then it came out and it was a dull, lifeless, outdated mess. Bethesda doesn’t like elder scrolls every time they talk about it, it’s with disdain so I can only imagine how lazy and half ass it will be
they really need to hire modders beyond creation club to continually deliver dlc quality content AND hire or bring in-house the script extender authors or give those folks pre-access to patch builds before they're released so those script extenders are ready at the same time as the patch. I mean this seams like a no brainer to me, i feel like they're leaving money on the table

They have however they're primarily sent to work on the cash cow that is Fallout 76. I don't know the names but they poached developers of FO3 remake and FO4NV that I know of specifically.
Put that Microsoft money to work! Modders by the hundreds would be great value per quality work output even if they got paid well. The increased sales and decreased negative press would be worth it.

It really makes you appreciate old BGS titles after Starfield. Fallout 4 came out to Luke warm reception pun intended, and it's leagues above Starfield. I know beating a dead horse, but I can't help but make the comparison as I am doing a new playthrough of Fallout 4.
100% correct imo(and yours lol). Starfield is abysmally lack luster. They shot exploration of handcrafted locals in the head only to have 1-2 locations of the exact same layout peppered around the same planets just with different colors. And these planets are completely lifeless. Flying a ship is demoted down to cutscene after cutscene of fast traveling only. It really left the exploration and freedom of previous BGS titles to be desired. And to put salt on the wound I haven’t heard anything about starfield lately. No new content. No new anything. Which seems very very odd.
Todd Howard gonna be the new George RR Martin of the video game world. Leave his hame roots to go do tv shows of his own game leaving people wanting more FO and ES titles. lol
The fallout tv show brought me back to reminisce about the game. I didn’t come back for the half assed lazy update. After starfield (Todd Howard’s passion project) I’m not excited for anything BGS does.
I ended up spending 6 hours (literally) trying to fix the PC side of things.
-The Ultrawide support as you stated was broken.
-No performance gain due to Script Extender not being available for the newest update (Still slow af with a 4090).
So, what to do? I did what a lot of the community has already done and backdated my Fallout game version to the more mod-friendly state. In doing this, I also wanted to do a fresh start with all the CC content reinstalled. THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE HERE. Instant crashes no matter which CC contents I had installed. Those CC store contents are now only valid to work with the new update IF you decide to redownload them or buy new ones. It took me so long to figure out why nothing was working and that was the culprit.
Under no circumstances, DO NOT REDOWNLOAD/UPDATE YOUR CREATION CLUB CONTENT on the older Fallout versions.
How long have you played Fallout? I learn years ago it's best not to fix things. That is six hours you are never going get back.
@@KalEl7802 Been playing almost all the Bethesda games for probably close to 15 years in total. A lot of the time, I don't mind fixing what Bethesda ignores to do because I and many others have done it for so long and we WANT to play the game and get it functional. Ironically, I do sort of like fixing the game because it gives me a challenge and I get to learn something from the thing I enjoy. Plus, everyone's PC setup and playthrough's is different so that requires attention to what works and what doesn't.
But updates like this and fixing them is what other devs do almost on a daily basis. To you it may be a waste of time, but I have all the time in the world 🤷♂
For me it's made loading SUPER long like it sometimes takes 2-3 mins to load the map going back into the Commonwealth. As I discover more places on the map it just gets worse.
@@MrMister5305 It is a waste of time as Bethesda games are buggy. The only way you ever going fix them is through official updates from Bethesda or mods.
@@KalEl7802 And those "official updates" broke a lot of people's games... so that leaves us no choice but to use mods to fix the game and troubleshoot the games. Modders put in way more time into mods and then have patches for those mods for other mods to work together or even run the game. Those 6 hours I put in to help others be aware of another problem is nothing compared to what they go through lol it's normal man. Unfortunately.
They need to make more games with player agency. Fallout 4 has less agency compared to New Vegas. Skyrim has some player agency but it isn’t much compared to New Vegas. Maybe follow the New Vegas formula with improved aspects like if you kill someone from one faction and there was no one around, you don’t get vilified and if an NPC finds them they make an investigation. With today’s technology it is very possible, the problem is that Corporations want to make big buck by investing less and charging for more.
At this point idc what people say about Obsidian and The Outer Worlds, they HAVE to be more competent than this. Give them the Fallout IP
The Outer Worlds is amazing, very very underrated.
If they can make avowed a true fps medieval rpg like kingdom come (I know it’s not perfect but for an rpg it’s pretty damn good ) they take the next step and be one of the top developers

Bethesda hasn’t had their shit together for over a decade at this point and it’s not changing anytime soon. Those that hold on to the hope that they inevitably will.. are simply deluding themselves.
Eh, they've had a game plan for ES6 for quite some time now. It might not be the best story as per normal, but I'm sure it will be another great sandbox game. With all of the complaints about FO3/4 and Oblivion/Skyrim that people have, all 4 games were still extremely popular and had a lot of replay value.
I highly doubt they'll ruin TES or FO games (single player ones), unless they go down the route of Starfield again and ProcGen everything.

@@BlueBEAZY45 It really isn't though. You even confirm this by saying "over a decade", meaning you're referring to, at minimum, Skyrim. A game in which people bitched and moaned that it was terrible and a step down from oblivion, all while they were able to release it 17 times and get insane amounts of profit each and every time because of the following it had.
And hate or love FO4, there's no denying it overall has more staying power and playability than FO3 or NV.
Is it better than either? Arguable on one, for sure not on the other, but because of its game loop and accessibility, it's the one that is easiest to get into and continually play.
Which 2 games haven't done well? FO76 which is a multiplayer game, and was exactly what they said it was going to be before launch, so it's hard to hate them for it entirely, and Starfield, the SP new IP that you can say was atrocious, but something outside of their comfort zone, that hopefully taught them what NOT to do going forward.

I don't think Bathesda is doing the Oblivion or Fallout 3 remake/Remaster. I think I remember it's been given to another company to do them.
I started playing Fallout 4 a couple weeks ago and it's been great, even running completely unmodded. This update came in and it's now crashing constantly and I haven't been able to play for longer than a few minutes without inexplocable crash ever since.

Your only option to use the previous version is to buy another copy on GOG is seems. Bethesda knows that. They could easily offer the old version as a Beta branch on Steam, but they dont.

I’m all for the Fallout IP getting contracted out to another studio, but I’m not sold on the developer needing to be Obsidian. Put out the memo and see who’s interested, ask them for a budget and a roadmap, and then pick the best offer. Some fresh blood would do the Fallout series good.

I really wish they would. It's gimmicky and unnecessary, at least within their own game design.
Unless they actually rebuild to make their 1,000,000 animated sandwiches interesting for the game loop, it's just holding them back.
load screens were taken out of skyrim and fallout by modders years ago.

Just don’t play quality mode? It’s not even worth it anyway, it’s not like you’re running cyberpunk which would actually be worth running in quality mode. The game is almost 10 years old, just play on performance mode

I have it for both PlayStation and Xbox since it’s launch on last gen consoles and never had an issue with it on either platform. It’s basically the same as last gen with just slightly better resolution and 60fps added. Other than that there’s no difference
That's because you're not using mods, and this video is mostly about the PC version so your comment is pointless just like this update. They could easily have added 60 fps on consoles with a simple .ini tweak without wiping everybody's modlist. Most people play Bethesda games WITH mods otherwise it's not worth it because they're ugly, broken trash - their full potential is unlocked with mods.

The patch worked fine for me on pc, but I don't use any mods though. Seemed like they fixed some issues with settlement bugs.

On ps5 it’s actually great lmfao some mods don’t work maybe like two or three but the whole games much more stable and playable good update for ps5 😭 am actually having fun
Playstation's versions really stretch the meaning of "mod" when compared to every BGS game.
So not surprised to hear there aren't many issues.
I only wish Sony would allow more than bare minimum mods.

Yeah its unreal how this is call next gen update when there are no next gen features or new implementations. On PC there random crashes to desktop, if you have modern hardware and are capable of more than 144fps the lip synch and animations are broken.
The Witcher 3 a game that lunch the same year back in 2015 had a way better next gen update. Bethesda delays this and puts no effort in testing and providing something good that could potencially extend the life of the game even more.
I went to open my new update and found that my menu scrolls at a million miles per second. It's like rolling roulette to try and get to the correct selection. Then, when I finally was able to get into the game, both characters' speech animations were moving like they were on crack but the audio was fine. I didn't get any farther. I exited to desktop and I'll wait for the professionals to upload their fixes to Nexus.
I never once had problems with downtown Boston, but now it’s so unplayable at maybe 5 frames
Genuinely, I just wish Bethesda would stop messing with their games years after launch. I love fallout and the elder scrolls but I wish their games wouldn't be destroyed a decade after launch
I'm actually enjoying the game. Its my first time playing the game and even though there are dated elements, there are many fantastic elements that are not in current titles and it truly does encourage exploration. Modern open world games could learn from this game still.
I managed to get all my mods working again except for the ones reliant on F4SE. took a few hours though!

As of now I will say.. I was wrong, you were right.
To piggy back on my own comment, I was drinking the Bethesda kool-aid and assumed Starfield would be the next big thing.
So I bought an Xbox while all of my friends are on ps5, so now I game alone. I played Stafield for maybe 15 minutes and uninstalled it.

At least some of their devs are making some decent games.

I have like zero mods on pc and still my performance got worse. loading when leaving a building takes forever and while my framerate hasn't dropped my computer is working way harder than before. I actually hear my fans now which I didn't before.
Fallout 4 finally exceeded my expectations. This update is way shittier than I thought it could possibly be
I believe this is another attempt by Bethesda to get people more friendly towards paid mods, with them going, "see, these don't break with the updates", while hoping that the modders can't or won't fix them. Which is the real weakness of the model of 'modder supported games', if the modders stop coming back, your theoretical plethora of content gets thrashed. Look at Starfield.
On PC and haven't had any problems as yet. The mods I care about still function fine, but they were unlikely to break (unless they massively reworked the item framework). But with a basic 60fps monitor, that's to be expected.
To remake/remaster New Vegas, it would have to be in the creation engine using existing Fallout assets. There's pretty much no way they could ground-up create everything in a reasonable time-frame. Remember that to make NV in 18mths, they pulled heavily from existing Fo3 systems and assets.
What you said about sandbox is possibly right, and probably why I got a lot out of Fo76. It was just an open sandbox where I could wander round, loot stuff, and build a silly house.
Likewise, why the subsequent expansions haven't drawn me back in. I enjoyed being in appalachia. I don't want to go to another sandpit.
I didn’t have too many issues with the update personally. I don’t play on widescreen so that didn’t effect me, but I played a new save for a couple hours and I ended it by thinking “why did they change?” Nothing seemed different to me on pc except for some very long load times. I was also stuck at 55 fps for a lot of it if not all, and on a 3080ti, I feel like I should be higher.
On Xbox Series X the makeshift pack (which is one of 3 new packs force installed via the update alongside the Halloween and Enclave packs) it has invisible weapons and shoots red exclamations and I am not the only person to run into this, so far I can count 5-6 other people. My rtx 4090 rig ran 60-144fps before the update with 100s of mods to improve graphics and with a combo of enb and reshade. Now I barely run 40fps, without mods and the enb and reshade turned off. It is absolutely appalling and abysmal treatment of a franchise I have loved for many years. Glad this is getting more attention via you and people like Juice Head. It's like they got something from the 76 launch and made that the Fallout 4 update, they need to do more testing before this mess. Would've been better without, now I feel like playing another game.
Agree, over the course of the next 2 years we should get FO3 remaster, a FONV remaster AND the announcement of a full New Vegas style side game from another studio, if not also a remake of the original Fallout too.
The Fallout London team should as part of the mod installation make a tutorial on how to remove the update, to the version prior to the next gen update. Bethesda will not leave the game alone anymore, for at least one more year, there will be useless (on PC) updates, that will break the mod, over and over again. You cant rely on Bethesda good will in 2024. I hope they do that, the Enderal SE (huge skyrim mod) team did it i think they should do it too.
I agree and was thinking this too. It's not like Fallout London needs/uses any of the new "features" of the update. Just release it and say its only compatible with version X and tell people how to backdate it. If someone knows how to install a mod they will know how to backdate.

You know what sucks, best case scenario because of the way things are turning out, Fallout will get a spin off from another studio and Elderscrolls will be undercooked and outdated from Bethesda in the late 2020’s. Once again proving it’s a real struggle being an ES fan.

This further goes to show how ridiculously poor their management is. The fact that this update was only announced after the Fallout show came out proves it. It’s fairly obvious that someone over there got excited by the glowing reviews for the show and decided to capitalize on it by rushing out a lazy update. This should have been planned and charted out months before the first trailer even came out.
The last Bethesda game I cared about was Skyrim. They haven't released a game of that quality since imo.
The next big question is where do they move on from here? Do they release a patch/update to fix the bugs or do they leave it and abandon the game similar to what they did with FO3. For those unaware, FO3 is unplayable now for most people on PC. The game isn’t officially supported on anything newer than Windows 7.
No way this update was done by the Starfield team or the original F4 developers. My guess is they outsourced it to some other team or most probably a couple of interns they had just hired.
Making me glad that I just kept my old install on an external. I was able to just plug it in and run. All my old mods still work fine, even got a few new ones, old versions of them of course. By the way, I fully believe this was 90% done to mess with the Fallout London guys.
In the short term, it would be great to give someone the right to make a sideline Fallout game, but the one problem is that some of the magic of Fallout is finite. The music for example, they use real world licensed music that has an early 50s style to it. You can only mine so much of it before you run out. They already re-use some music on in-game radios.
Unless it's the 2 mods I have installed (pretty small ones), it doesn't run great on the Xbox right now.
It feels pretty choppy, and gets bad in combat. At least in quality mode. I was switching between to see if there was even a difference (not really). It feels a little smoother on performance, but doesn't really look it. Quality mode also just makes colors pop veeeerry subtly. It basically just looks like they turn down the brightness a tiny bit.
If anyone is curious I got v-sync disabled. I'm not sure exactly what fixed it or if it was a mix of a few things but this is what I did. Did the usual nvida control panel stuff, turning it off there. Did the Ini edit to turn off v-sync in both the fo4 ini & the fo4prefs ini,. No change just with that... BUT you have to play it in fullscreen mode now, windowed does not unlock it. Unmodded, before the update I was getting around my max fps for my 144hz monitor with some hitches downtown Boston. After the update and in fullscreen with v-sync disabled I was back to full fps but downtown did seem to preform better, from what I did experience while running around I didn't notice any hitches... But of course unmodded you still have to limit your fps to around 60 because physics are still tied to fps :(
The crazy thing is about this update is that F76 is pretty much F4 but 76 has the slightly improved shooting gameplay, Ultra wide support works unlike the current F4, FPS is also much better in F76. Somehow both these games wont allow you to turn of vsync without changing ur ini files. All the improvements should have been an easy thing to do its wild. Not only that but the fkn creation club items don't even work with the new patch. BETHESDAS ON OFFICIAL MODS DONT WORK LMAO.
TLDR this update is only good if ur a PlayStation player but even then they're having issues downloading the patch

The game deleted 90% of my camps that was made of base game workshop stuff including the container I was keeping all of my loot.
I think the current state of gaming requires lots of innovation, but Bethesda has been just trying to get their games to run. Hell Divers 2, Balders Gate 3, and GTA 5 are all very impressive games and very innovative. Skyrim, to me, was their last innovative game. the graphical increase was insane compared to Oblivion, but even then you could tell it was a little behind other studios. There was little physics in the game, Hair was static, everything felt floaty. Now with Starfield they are severely behind everyone else.
I can't wait for modders to fix all their mods, then having bethesada update the next gen update to fix the things they broke, breaking the mods again prolly cause they hate us
I'm praying that they work with another studio to get all of the pre production work done early, and maybe overhaul that aging engine

Honestly, you may as well mod it. The game is fun for a few hours, but it story is nothing impressive. My advice is look up and install Sim Settlements 2 by Kinggath. You'll never look back.
when my dad died in 2016, i spent the entire year and then some in fallout 4. i have almost 30 days of my life in it. i modded the hell out of it. i built fully working cities, had an army of minutemen, thousands of modded clutter and decorations scattered across almost every settlement in one form or another. all of that's gone now, thanks to the next gen update. i can't even open my main original save. To say that i'm devastated wouldn't begin to cover it.

It's like every Bethesda launch and update is duct taped together. It's like the whole, "we'll fix it in post" thing except the we isn't Bethesda, it's the mod community.
So I know someone whom was directly related to the Outer Worlds project and it was said that a small portion of the team was working on the game, OW, and then another portion was working on Avowed; to add, it was said that MS wasn’t 1000% on the idea of OW, but at the same time they did want to give the devs a chance, based on their record. I feel like they knew, or someone knew at least, that whatever Obsidian made, was gunna turn a profit. So they went ahead, but with a strict/monitored budget.

Here's the crazy thing... on my system, before the update, fallout 4 had these issues mentioned here. After the update, I don't have them. Lol. But instead of my fps locked at 48, it's locked at 72. BGS. Now, I wonder if it's because I have a full amd system? Sapphire 7900xtx nitro plus, and amd 5950x. Maybe they only worked on consoles, and since they are amd based, that's why I'm seeing better performance, and the errors are resolved?

Yeah it also broke the wasteland workshop dlc and nuka world to where I have them both installed but when I go to load in it says the content is missing and yep my 150h VANILLA play through was ripped to shreds (ps5 btw)
MS/Bethesda clearly didn't expect the Fallout TV series to be as good as it is, or at least being this well received.
If they're in a pinch, MS wouldn't even require the Obsidian devs do the actual full-time dev-ing of a Fallout game.
Microsoft can go the route of re-assembling the OG F1 and 2 senior devs, engaged either full-time or consultant group, working on controlling/guiding/advising pre-dev and approval process with a studio that is competent.
Make us a CRPG at med to med-high budget, no need for a super huge open world, keep it tight and well curated, the top down view additonally keeps it distinct from Bethesda's entries.
I wouldn't expect much any time soon, at best, even if they start now, I expect a minimum 5 year dev period.

31:19 no, the obsidian ceo made it clear in 2018 that Bethesda had spoiled the idea of it with bad deals. Obsidian has no ill will with Bethesda, but they don’t want to work with them again.

All my mods have stopped working on my series x but the ps5 version they are fine and fast travel and loads are instantaneous.
Honestly, I expected it to be shit so hard that I read-only'd the install folder, routinely unscheduled the update, and eventually found a way to meddled with depot numbering so that Steam stopped trying to update my install. Still got my modlist, still got my saves, I can breathe.
Bethesda actually hates making games at this point with how messed up the update is. What is GOING ON with them? They can't make new games and they suddenly can't update games. (It's a good thing I kept my Fallout 4 GOG download, I'm personally only checking out the next-gen fix in console version)
I launched it, I'm on AMD and the 3D V cache might be doing some heavy lifting to smooth things out. I'll be waiting for the F4SE update since I want to use my mod loadout. I'm under no delusion about Bethesda games and the fact that they require mods to tease out the best game in some way.
The Cyberpunk team and Gabe wanted to show a "You thought it was good before, hold my beer" moment. Bethesda doesn't seem to have the drive to impress anymore.
If you want to see what level of gameplay Cyberpunk 2077 can do my favorite person is Benjamin Winters. He has uncut videos of gameplay that make me think it is the Matrix. Without the love that CDPR has put in, we wouldn't get this and since Bethesda doesn't love their games anymore we can't get something like that with their games.

A lot of people have said “well they didn’t say we were gonna get a visual overhaul or anything” but bro… if Sony said “hey we’re making a next-gen patch for [whatever end-of-ps4-gen game]” then sure, everybody would think it’s a 60fps update.
But saying “next gen patch” in the case of a 9 year old game… a glorified 60fps patch just ain’t gonna cut it. At least fix a heckton of bugs and add like a global illumination thing or something.
The Fallout show had to have been in production for at least a year or two… just port the damn thing over to CE2
I had to jump through hoops to get it running on the OLED deck. Had to bring back the launcher and perform a fix for the half frame rate bug. Got it running and it feels alright.. then realized the keyboard support is broken and any time I close the steam deck keyboard the game crashes. Can’t get past the vault tec rep. I’m just gonna uninstall, it’s exhausting Todd
First playthrough here and I was waiting for the next gen update for this reason. I'm playing on PC and had more than several crashes. Also, I've been looking at gameplay pre-update and I'm confused what did they update.
BGS Fallouts are not RPGs. They're theme park rides. NV is one of the best RPGs of all time.

Ps5 runs pretty good. I’m enjoying the 60 FPS gameplay. I wish they would have updated the textures and lighting, but I didn’t expect that Bethesda would do that for free.

Fall out 4 is better now than it was when its first 1-2 years. This is before the mountain of mod tools you need. They did a big recent update to sky rim that disabled everything that took years to build.
