The brutal reality is that one day A.I will make music, games, movies, etc. all by itself and it will be so good that we will not care that is A.I generated. Probably will not happen in the next decade or so, but will be the end game of the technology. I don't think the infrastructure will be here/will be very limited by then.
Oh but I think it will very much happen this decade that we will have full AI generated games, and short films. AI Generated music is getting VERY good now. I could show you hundreds of songs that you would not be able to tell were AI generated already. Movies? At least short films have been generated by AI (with human text input) that look very realistic. Look up Sora. Games? Google has an AI capable of playing almost any 2D game, and generating game worlds. They are teaching it to play minecraft and other 3D games now, without modifying the game at all, and just having it use controller inputs and screen feedback like a human would. Text to 3D model generation is already a thing, and becoming much better every year. Combine all these together and you have a fully working AI generated game. Then iterate on each process and it will actually get very good very fast. I think we are about 5 - 10 years out from a full AAA game being developed entirely by AI.

I like how a literal algorithm gave a more empathetic and respectful response to the layoffs than Sarah Bond did
I'm just imagining this on NPCs in video games. Give them a full database of everything within the game and then limit their interactions only to what their characters should know and update their knowledge with all the events that happen around them.
Like imagine in an RPG where you tell your companion to "wait" and stop following you. So they sit at a bar as you go do a mission or something. Then when you decide to pick them back up, they can tell you everything the other NPCs were talking about while you were gone. Like they overheard something about events that could lead to a quest.
Or imagine Cyberpunk all the additional NPC companions that could be added or fill up more content with NPCS in the world already. Imagine Panam being able to use the AI to walk around and have her own daily life and be able to message to events happening around her organically. Then even if theres a shoot out and shes near and calls you for help. Or you just interact with any random NPC and gain them as a growing organic companion that has a lot of depth.
I don't know how Starfield AI went backwards when we see this.

Dude her answer was so similar I thought she was replaying what the CEO woman replied live.
Maybe it was the other way around. The CEO asked Chat GPT beforehand and tried to remember the text, but she forgot a few points

I'm selfish, i hope studios can implement these types of ai in open world rpgs with companions. Like that Skyrim mod but this much better with the personalities of the individual Npc. Preferably we get it before they take us out

The issue with that is that those games will be always online and can also result in monthly subscriptions due to money required to maintain the servers. I personally would prefer such a game once such models can be run locally effectively so that companies might not use it as an excuse to milk us consumers.

In 1ft of water, the gorilla would also have better situational awareness, being able to clearly view and analyze the situation. Whereas a shark would likely be in a panic-state, struggling to both breathe and move, at best lashing out reactively rather than being able to take proactive measures.

It's a fascinating demo, I'll give them that. I must confess to finding the inflexions of the AI's voice to be a most intriguing, humanising feature. However, how practical it'll be, still remains to be seen.

Pretty cool, but I'm really confused by the "jokes" it told. At first I thought it was a weird editing jump, but I didn't see a cut, so it just sounded like the AI got confused and smashed 2 jokes together and then got confused during the explanation as well. "Why don't skeletons fight each other? They don't have the guts, because he was out standing in his field." Then it went on to explain each joke, when there was really only one joke with 2 punch lines smashed together, one of which was from a different joke. There was no mention of a scarecrow in the joke, but then there was in the explanation. These AI are basically just really fast processors of information that have google open all the time. They just glean information from the internet and very quickly put together sentences based on algorithms. Ask the AI to come up with an original joke, that would be the true test of intelligence!

@@pylotlight it isnt. This voice has been a thing in ChatGPT for literally months, while the new one actually has emotion, can sing, can see (is multimodal) and has much more power in general. The old one can’t laugh, can’t tutor perfectly like the new one etc

Imagine what this would be like in gaming. Not just in conversation. Include behavior. Zelda Ocarina of Time surprised me. The game allowed me to abuse some chickens. When I kept that up, they all killed me.

What is shocking but not surprising is that the answers are in fact much more intelligent than what the average person would have said. I think that is what makes people afraid of AI: Their own lack of intelligence.
But in the end the "intelligence" we're talking about here is applied knowledge and the ability to draw conclusions. Nothing that anyone couldn't learn, if they are willing to educate themselves....
After hearing this i can say that in the future we get press releases produced only by a A.I.

That response was not word for word lol. It was significantly better, Sarah just said word salad. The AI’s response actually made sense
This is not yet the gpt 4o version but rather the normal gpt 4 turbo… the 4o will be rolling out in the coming weeks ! And it’s even more impressive! (As there is 0 latency and you can speak over it and it would listen and adjust)

why are you cutting between asking the question and the answers? It doesnt really get the response time across, which seems pretty important for a new model all about the response time.
This is the old model, not the new one. That's why it's cutting because the avg response on the current version is 5 seconds.
The video seemed pretty convincing, it even gave him a lispy gay voice as he faked enthusiasm for the AI chatbot.

No one has access to the new voice modality yet. The text model was updated to GPT-4o for you and most, which is great, but this is _not_ what was just demoed by OpenAI. They said it will be a couple of weeks until they start rolling it out.
