I had this line (12lbs) on a bait caster, motor trolling. Checked the rod. It was spooled! But still tied to the real. Line stretched way out, rod bent in half. I shut the motor off and reeled in a 32" Crevalle Jack, a very powerful fish. The line held fine. Tough stuff.

I have fished bass tournaments for many years with this line. This has never, ever failed me and I think 2 to 3 fish in that time broke this line. I use 6 and 8lb on all my spinning reels and 12lb on my bait casters. This is a great product and underestimated. Great video.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Zebco Omniflex! I ended up making another video after this one after I caught a massive carp and didnt break the line. Its really tough stuff for the price.
Is the reason you change the line out 4x/year because you fish alot or do you feel like the line tends to get curly as it ages? I noticed ice fishing it does tend to curl on me a little bit. Not enough to be a problem for the price but its present.
Actually at my local walmart they just changed the graphics on the label of Zebco Omniflex to something a little different. Have you noticed this also?

I have try this line out and it does hold fish very well. When you use good old brand names that are proven you focus more on your skill landing fish than just horsing them in. my opinions is that any line will do fine if you have just straight mono, but for leaders you want a soft mono that braid will cut into easier, ive tied fg knots with this and it works just fine, but a pr doesnt grap and just slips. for the pr knot you need a softer mono.

The technology for monofilament line is very old and well-established. They'd have to go through trouble to deviate from standard production processes and raw materials in order to create subpar fishing line, meaning they'd incur greater costs to produce a lower quality product, and I just don't see any company doing that. They'd just stick to making standard, old-fashioned monofilament.

I’ve bought a lot of it in every poundage. I caught at 23 pound freshwater Drum on the 8 pound version! Several catfish up to 10 pounds. Caught a 8 pound northern pike on the 4 pound version. I also use the 20, 25, 30, and 50 pound versions for leader material. I DO replace my line every three months or so to keep it fresh. It’s not my goto line by any means but just goes on my cheap panfish and heavier versions go on my economy catfish rods. I have WAY too many rods so I don’t line them all with braid. The Berkeley big game 20 and 30 pound braid is awesome.

i use this stuff all the time on just my spincast and spinning reel outfit for ul and medium bass rigs iv tried it on my baitcasters it don't work so well on a count the line can be a bit to stiff and causes a lot of back lashes and a lot of line twist unless you spray reel magic on the line then it will preform better on bait casters and spinning reels better other then that i have no complaints about the line iv used this in the 8ib to 4lb to 10lb tests and landed some good size bass and trout and panfish with it well thats my opinion on using this line i like the 4ib test the best for ul fishing and the 8lb test the best for bass fishing finesse fishing with lighter rigs like whacky rigs inline spinner Beatle spins ned rig top water lures and plan bait fishing it ok line for what it is the only issues i don't like about this line is they don't have any low vis or high vis color options

This and Berkeley trilene XL are the best lines made- I think trilene XL feels a bit more supple which is good for baitcasters.

My experience with this line has been weird.... I have snelled up hooks with the 30 pound and I was running the snell through my fingers a few times.. not very many. It just kinda creates a little heat and straightens the mono. It just snapped! I was like what the heck maybe that was a fluke or I did something else that I just never noticed but I managed to do it again. Other than that my experience with it has been that once it stretches and it doesn't take much force to do this that the line doesn't really shrink back to it's original form it wants to get a little thinner and curl up really bad and it's super weak after stretching.
TLDR line is mega weak after it stretches and weird stuff happens when using this line.

It’s a good line, but a lil preparation will make it a very good line. Before spooling soak the spool in hot water (that should soften it up while spooling) after your spooled up, throw a hook on your line and attach it to a stationary object and and literally let 15-20 ft out and pull it taught a few times and that will take the stretch out of it. I usually do about 30 yrds. And then reel it back on the spool. You wouldn’t believe how flat that line lays, and it now has very very lil stretch. Takes me 10 min. And I’m fishing for Peacock Bass, Largemouth Bass and Snakeheads in Southeast Fla. it’s just as good as Red Label, and most flouros, just have to take 10-15 min to prep the line.
Never lost a fish due to line breakage. If I had it was something I did wrong

@@adamant7146 Hell ya summer time bass fishing is one of the best things on the planet. Looking forward to it.
Its really hard to beat line for the price. I caught a huge carp on the 10lb omniflex and it handled really well. Its gotta be alittle higher test than what they say. 10lb probably more like 12lb
I have bent some hooks using braided line from not setting my drag properly during hooksets using my baitcaster. On spinning rods I have found braid to work really well for finesse applications. It is expensive stuff though, 150yrds of powerpro is $14-16
Right now I just use the braid for finesse applications. Mono for everything else (big game, omniflex, cajun red)
      Best Regards, Leland

I was skeptical at first but its actually great line and have since given it a proper review video. Thanks for watching!

I use Excel mono from BPS. It's made in China but still a good product.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have one of these tests coming up. I am pretty backed up on footage until Ice Fishing Season starts so it may be a little bit.
