Thank you Dr. Anil Rajani, I love your passion and excitement and it is a bit infectious . Thank you for a wonderful video. Can you let me know how many times you think one can run the roller over jowls?
Hi, Doc! Thank you. But I am confused. The study says 1.5mm needle was effective for the collagen but you say later in the video that the needle you can buy is .2mm. Which one?
How many times can we use your version?

@CatastrophicSoul watch again. I use in clinical practice .2 to .3. My DermaRoller Growth factors is .25. For prf into that fat layer ....yes 1 to 3mm. You need to keep in mind the skin is different thickness all over the face. I discuss that also in this video

Micro needling, Tretinoin, sunscreen and red light therapy, killer combo. Exercise is also very important. Been doing that for decades. I’ll be 50 in a few months and people swear I’m in my 30’s. More importantly, I have the energy of a 30 year old with no aches and pains.
How often do you microneedle? What depth is your needle?
@@1USALady Once every 5 weeks. I have a pen. On the thinner parts of my face like around the eye bones, bridge of nose and forehead I’ll do a .25 and the rest a .5mm. I have a couple deeper acne scars on my cheek and chin so I’ll do 1mm. It does hurt tho! I also do my neck. Not at the same time. One week face, couple weeks later neck, and .5mm on the neck. Once in a while I use a roller on the legs above the knee and sometimes my arms, where you usually start to see crepey skin. Those you can do a 1mm easily cause the skin is thick.
It still hurts, you are poking yourself with needles after all! 😂
First time I tried it I only did .25 all over my face to see the reaction I would have.
Luck you. I'm 49, and my knees are horrible already. Can't stoop down and will need support to get back up. And just wondering the thing wrong with me.

@@PaganSkyeit took about 4 months to see results after doing it every 4 weeks - you can use Cos De Baja hyaluronic acid for slip and then I just put on Cerave healing ointment after the treatment
To disinfect your dermaroller after use, soak it in hot water with a denture cleanser tablet (I use Efferdent). Let it sit for thirty minutes, then rinse it under running water. I clean the case with isopropyl alcohol, but not the roller itself. Works like a charm 😊

A lot of other dermatologists online advise against a derma roller because it can drag on the skin and cause scars. They all recommend a microneedling pen over a derma roller. But I do 100% agree with micro needling.

Thank you, Dr. Rajani! Your information and advice is invaluable to all of us in this often confusing world of skincare. I'm ready to put my derma roller to good use now that I know all the ins and outs from someone I trust. Thanks again!
I started with the derma roller then the stamp type. I had a lot of acne scaring from my youth, and when I found out that I could do something about it on my own, I ordered a roller, at 0.3mm because I am a coward when it comes to needles, the hardest part was not shaking from the fact that I am sticking hundreds of needles. I got over that soon enough.
I use 1.0 to 1.5 mm now using an adjustable stamp.
I apply multi peptides and Alpha arbutin after cleaning and just before doing the needling. later on I re-apply some peptides again. over the months I have noticed smoothing of the texture of the skin on my face. also coloration is more even. other days, I do the peptide/arbutin and tretinoin 0.025% at night with moisturizer, (just recently started using Snail Mucin product) and mornings I use Vitamin C serum, and sometimes use moisturizer with sunscreen.
once a week I use an exfoliant, current product is versed instant resurfacing mask.
I do not expect an over night miracle, I know it will take time, but the fact I do see improvement is motive to keep doing it.
Thanks for sharing your routine.

This is so intriguing. I'm a little scared though. With skin scars easily... Anyone like me Doing this and feeling good about it?
I get hyper/hypo-pigmentation and sometimes even keloids just from accidentally scratching myself with overlong fingernails, but I've done microneedling about 6 times of the last 7 months and I have had absolutely no scarring or pigmentation issues. I always do between 0.2 - 1.0 mm in depth and am super careful with disinfecting before, during and after.
I used a cheap hand-held dermaroller over 6 years ago, for about 6 months. I used the roller 6 x on several sections on my face but avoided my entire eye area - every 2 weeks. However, I had to stop as I gave myself quite a few puncture scar marks around one side of my chin. They were visible in my make-up mirror. I know now that it was because of my own poor technique. Back then I used a 0.5 mm roller too aggressively and on my face. It was also far too deep for me. I had not found Dr Rajani's channel at that time. I stopped rolling completely and only used retinols etc. I am going to give it another try soon - with a 0.2mm roller, as I have seen great results from friends over time, who persevered at home with the smaller needle. I'll be much more careful too; not forcing the roller into my skin, but letting it very gently glide across my taut skin, following Dr R's technique suggestions and hopeful that it should give me a much better result...plus improve the original small patch of scarring, that I caused myself!
R u prediabtic? If so, u can reverse it. It’s a metabolic disorder. Lifestyle changes can do miracles.
