      That's just new brakes. My Sti with 700 miles has squeaky brakes. Most new Mercedes have squeaky brakes for a bit. It's the sealant paint on the sides of the new pads

  • @ajvangorden1344
    @ajvangorden1344 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So Mishimoto has been testing a cold air intake and the intake with an exhaust got them 43 hp on the dyno without a tune.(according to Mishimoto) Add the AP stage 1 to that and you'll be making way more power than stick and for not a lot of money. I want a 2015 WRX so badly. Hopefully in the next year. Really like your videos by the way, very informative. Looking forward to more.

    • @Bones12x2
      @Bones12x2 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not trying to sound rude, but Mishimoto is absolutely full of you know what if they are really claiming that. Most factory turbo 4 cylinder cars gain little to no power from an intake. Best case scenario is 10-20whp but that is with a tune. Without a tune it is just as likely to run worse. Again, not trying to be rude, but I do work in the industry and happen to know for a fact that many tuning companies only sell intakes because thousands of people will buy them despite it being a waste of money on most cars with a stock turbo.

    • @powerbook76
      @powerbook76 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bones12x2 even 10-20whp is kinda pushing it.. no way in hell it gains 43hp on dyno WITHOUT a tune.... if it does pull that kind of hp, i'd be actually afraid not to put a tune on it something might break, bc its just not normal lol

    • @ajvangorden1344
      @ajvangorden1344 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like I said that's what Mishimoto claimed with the intake and exhaust. I'll believe it when I see it but turbo cars do respond better to bigger intakes than N/A cars. I could see it if the intake and exhaust were paired with the tune. We'll see what happens when the parts are actually released.

    • @ajvangorden1344
      @ajvangorden1344 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The video clearly says intake, cat back exhaust and stock tune.

    • @ajvangorden1344
      @ajvangorden1344 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's "mishimoto intake testing part 2" 41 seconds in. Written pretty clearly. Which makes sense because yes, no intake alone will make 43 hp. And Mishimoto and JSC who both have WRXs said it will be safe to run on a stock tune due to the ECU being able to adapt.

    I just got back from Montana road trip in the super twisty mountain roads. All I can say is WOW about the handling on the 2015. I took my 2010WRX on same roads in 2011 and it was no comparison. The thing I found interesting is you said in your video the WRX is begging for top end. I raced a newer Evo from about 40km and hour to about 180km an hour and he only pulled maybe a half car length, which really surprised me. My car is 100 percent stock, except a drop in cosworth air filter. When you say top end, what speed range are you referring to is my question? Thx. Btw, the cars tires can run as high as 51 psi according to tire place here in calgary. He out mine at 46 psi as I told the tech were I was going... I am sure at that psi I was pulling 1.0g on some corners.

    I treated mine with outmost care, and could only use 3 times when it stopped communicating with the vehicle. After a long and bothersome e-mail exchange with their support staff, I finally got to send it back to them for repairs. But, because my AP wasn't bought directly from them, they wanted 150 bucks for a repair. After even more emails with the Cobb dealer who I purchased it from, and the Cobb AP staff, I got to send it in for warranty. Now, 3 months later, I get my AP sent back to me because their listed address cannot be found.

    Since all WRX's are still under warranty, you need to mention that flashing WILL void your warranty.

    • @BABnGIM
      @BABnGIM 9 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      Technically, you're wrong. The warranty won't be voided, but the claim/s might be. If you do install the accessport (and/or any other aftermarket parts), it doesn't necessarily mean that it will void your warranty, but if a component of a car breaks down, there is a chance that the claim won't go through. And this is only the case if the dealership can trace the problem back to the aftermarket part (that is, if you go into the dealership with the aftermarket part installed, instead of swapping it back to stock before you go in). However, i've heard of various cases where the dealership sees the aftermarket part, but still fixes the part for you. That final part really depends on how nice the dealership is.

      I think you should also mention with a tune, especially a tune, they will probably immediately void the warranty if something internal fails by chance like a rod or rings being defective, they don't totally have to prove it but if a SOA engineer comes over that will be the first thing to blame. I've seen with my FR-S they blamed rattles to my header-back exhaust but then fixed it anyway under warranty. Also I've seen owners of the multiple cars including the WRX go in for work and the dealer says "Oh we'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one, but next time it will be voided"

    • @clairvoyantdetails8423
      @clairvoyantdetails8423 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      one of the main reasons why i dont want to do it on my 15 either
      i extended the SOA warranty
      all these reports from brenntuning getting 38 MPG and 290whp and 300 trq with ZERO mods with just a tune is just insane....

    Did anyone else feel like it was sluggish around normal driving after the flash? Stock map the boost comes on very quickly with not a lot of throttle needed, but after the flash the boost doesn't really start building until you get into 30-40% throttle and 3k RPM. Top end does feel better, but feel like I gave up some of the "quick" down low in the process. Full disclosure, this is in Denver testing around 26* F outside.

    If you got the Mishimoto intake do you think it will work fine with the AP Stage1 tune just because Cobb created the maps for their intakes and AEM? Or is a intake a intake? I like what Mishimoto is claiming and I want to get their intake but I want to hold off on the AP for some time because I still have a 3yr factory warranty with Subaru. If you got the AP and put on a tune and then reverted to stock could Subaru tell??
    I just got the 15 WRX and I'm loving it, but driving a turbo car does get some getting use to vs my Acura Integra where you can bring the RPM's all the way up.

    is it worth tuning a brand new 2016 WRX ? Anyone know if you flash from stage 1 back to stock tune, will you be able to hide the tune so you can keep the warranty in tact? The only reason I'm interested in stage 1 is that supposed "rev hang" that is really annoying from 1st-2nd on the stock tune. Plus it smooths out the power band so it doesn't die off in the higher RPMs.

  • @dknollRX7
    @dknollRX7 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    With the Accessport, do you pick and choose the parts and manufacturers for the mods you've performed? Like, would you select you have a Mishimoto cold air intake, invidia J-pipe, ETS cat back, etc? Or do you just select the mods only: intake, full exhaust, etc. Sorry if it's a dumb question. I've never used one before and my '16 is being built as we speak. Can't wait to finally get it.

    • @TheJerseyNinja
      @TheJerseyNinja 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dknollRX7 you don't really select anything. You go on their website and look at the description of the maps, stage 1 is stock air intake and filter, and anything from the cat back you can have, stage 1+ is same thing but with the cobb big sf intake. Stage 2 is aftermarket turbo back and stock air intake, stage 2+ is aftermarket turbo back and cobb big sf intake. Now if you have other mods done that don't fit into these categories or you have more done to it like restrictor pill deletes, then you will need a custom tune. However if you have a mishimoto or ets intake, in the cobb forums they were requested so much that they released maps that are for if you have one of those. Like i have an ets intake so i have to use the map from the forum for stage 1 because that is the ets intake, and anything from the cat and back. Stage 2 for the ets one is a turbo back with catted j pipe, ets intake, and deleted first restrictor pill, and then theres stage 3 which is a delete of the second restrictor pill. So really, so long as you have a cobb big sf intake, and only a turbo back as well, regardless of what combination of pipes you may have, you can use cobb's maps directly from their website, but if you don't have the big sf intake and some other one or you have more mods done to the car than just big sf intake and turbo back, then you'll need either a custom tune or you'll have to do some internet searching

    Great video. question, do I need any intake or exhaust upgrades? or can I install on a totally stock WRX Limited 2016?

      You can use an AccessPort on a totally stock car. It improves throttle response and power all by itself. Highly recommended.

    Lot's of people in here new to the world of aftermarket brakes. I'm assuming it's a "race" level pad as they'll squeal like that, even after some finally heat up they still screech like mad. So many people think there's something wrong with your car.
    Anyways, what's your observed AF after the flash? Does the car get boost spikes or is it smooth? And finally, most of the time, people got better fuel economy after a flash on their Subies even into Stage 2, what did you observe?
    My WRX is coming in "Sept", had to order it. I'll be having an order for you guys then. Just need a DP/J-Pipe solution.

    +astrolia1, my boost is only peaking at 19.7 psi , most of the time it's all over the place and I'll only see 15.8 on average... does anyone know if there's an oem boost control issue with the 15/16 wrx?

      +Ralph Ruivivar There is a long list of packages you can load to the port for your car. Including any other mods you have made. Make a new mod? Just load a new map to the AP.

    Why are there no vids or reviews on the SUBARU STAGE 2 POWER PACKAGE (RESONATED J-PIPE) WRX 6MT 2015-2016 from COBB?! Is it not worth getting? I've been around the Subie community and understand that COBB to Subaru is like butter to toast. So I was thinking of just going full COBB tune (intake, full exhaust and AP all from COBB). While on the COBB site I saw the stage 2 power package and it peaked my curiosity... but seems like nobody has it...

      I read in another thread and it was Cobbs that it will work best in regular sport mode as far as peak power / torque and getting rid of some of the lag. About to install one on my 2015 limited with CVT tomorrow. Stage 1 93 octane only for me.

    This is now the second video I've seen of the center LCD display (gear/MPH/odometer) flickering on a modded 2015 WRX. Is this a side affect of the Cobb? I can't see how. Is it the camera then?

    • @SubiSpeed
      @SubiSpeed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Astrolia1 It is the shutter speed of the camera that causes that, nothing wrong with the display.

    how do various car mods effect the port. If you have a dual port blow off valve will you have to get a map for that spacific valve

    • @riennafoutre3833

      +William Long (KLRLong)
      im sure you will...
      when you install BOV on subbie instead of keeping the original bypass valve, it cause your car to run a bit richer when you release the throttle because de MAF sensor is installed before the valve. So when you release the throttle and the pressurised air is bein released outside, the ECU sends more gas to keep the same fuel/air ratio.....you do need a new map when you install a BOV

    Hello, I have a 2015 WRX AUTOMATIC and I recently just got a cobb access port v3. I need tune because there isn't a map for the following parts I own, Mishimoto Intercooler, A&E Cold Air Intake, Invidia N1 Catback Exhaust system, and Turbo XS Hybrid BOV Type XS. I would like to know how much it is for a tune on my vehicle.

    • @SubiSpeed

      +SALVAT1ON Force You will need to find a local tuner in your area or find some to etune your car.
