    Just the video I was looking for in order to include replacing the flush seal along with my repairs for replacing a leaking water valve on my RV toilet. My gasket kit also came with the closet flange seal. Your video solved my problem on the best way to replace the flush seal. Even though the flush seal was not leaking, it seemed prudent to replace it while the toilet was removed. Thanks for the great video.

    Nice to see this so simple. Just found this issue with our loo. Smeared some vaseline on it to try and keep a seal in the meantime and ordered that seal pack. Thanks. I was thinking I'd have to pull the toilet apart.
    I'm really happy it's so easy.

    • @jeepmor

      Seals are here and installed. The vaseline made the biggest challenge removing the old seal it was so slick. The vaseline did it's job though, and maintained it's waterseal with the dead seal while the parts took a couple days to arrive.

      Because Vasoline is petroleum based it will eat away at the seal. Ask any pool technician.

    Great video, thank you! I started to get frustrated trying to fit the slippery seal along the ring. Dried off my gloves and was able to work the seal in better. I found it easier to go from the top down (holding the seal and pushing down into the rim) when aligning the seal vs holding it underneath…if that makes sense.

  • @solgoode1
    @solgoode1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for this video. Just changed my seal. Was touch and go for a bit, but I got it in. There is an inner ring at the base and an outer ring more the size of the seal. I was trying to fit the seal into the inner ring. Finally figured it out and it went in perfectly. I used Pam cooking spray as a lubricant. Didn't have anything else on hand. Worked fine.

    Well Siri, you're a better man than me. I almost found it impossible to get that in. I ended up taking the toilet out separated the 2/2 super easy maybe 15 minute job instead of a two minute job I was OK with that.

  • @imsirius2
    @imsirius2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I found putting the new seal on to be very tricky. Took me a good 30 minutes to get it seated. Then it turned out not to be the problem. The ball rotates on a swivel on each side. One side had come out of the hole preventing a good seal. All fixed now.

  • @amixofstuff8802
    @amixofstuff8802 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Woodzman . I have to let you know that I tried to replace the seal through the top of the toilet as you shown, but after many attempts, I could not get it in place. Then I found another video that showed separating the two pieces of the toilet made it so much easier. I wish you included the obtion of that method as well so people can go that route when the other doesn't work. But I guess I should thank you for this because it taught me to watch several videos teaching how to do things to get the best perspective that works best.

    The seal on the RV I just purchased was really old. I couldn't get it out from the top. I had the toilet out to replace the closet seal so I turned the toilet upside down. From this position it really easy to reach in from the botttom and pull the old seal out and put the new one in. Thank you for the video. It was a lot easier than separating the upper and lower portions of the toilet.

    Very important- leave the flapper closed so you can easily put the seal on. Trying to have the flapper open is almost impossible to get the seal on. Use plenty of lubricant on both sides. After you have the seal in place, push the edges on with your finger so that the edges are even around.

That all of the prior flash balls can be replaced, but not this model. I don’t have a video of it but it’s easy, just undo the water line, undo the bolts raise the stool and take out the old gasket and put In the new one

    Just the video I was looking for. Hope I can do it myself. How do you shine up the bowl itself? I've used disposable toilet wand and after a while now it seems to be discoloring at water line and below. Where do you turn off the water to toilet? Is it like my home toilet turnoff?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im not sure what my wife cleans it with, nothing special. Mine didn’t have a shut off for the toilet so I just shut the water off to the camper. It’s really simple to change, main thing is Don’t drop the seal down into the tank, it would be hard to get out.
